Alan, great guide to a super fun spot. I would add a couple things for families, I was just there before the snow last week. The zip line is super fun for kids and adults, just go sign up for the waitlist as soon as you get in and then go enjoy the other attractions if you have a wait. Also, the ice skating turns into roller skating during warm weather months. The BB guns, Archery, and axe throwing are super fun for the kids and adults too. Lots to do for everyone and the staff is super friendly. The camping sites are amazing too. Skypark rocks 🤘🏼🤙🏼
Yo! Thanks for the pro-tips! Good stuff!
Because of you, I made the drive this morning from Huntington Beach.
Amazing park. Thank you for the tour guide.
Awesome! Glad you dug it! Love that place. Good tacos too. 😆
The first time I ever saw a video on Skypark I was quite perplexed as to what the Santa's village thing was all about. Super cool to get the full tour here!
IKR. It's something I don't even see anymore. Glad you dug the tour! Hope you're in SoCal at some point and we can hit it.
I would love to get out to this park!
Looks like a lot of fun!
Thanks for the great video, This was vary helpful and entertaining!
Glad to help! Make it happen. You won’t be disappointed. 🤘🏾
Thanks for the video Alan, great content as always
My pleasure!
Awesome! Great editing and nice pace!! thanks
Thanks! 😊
What a great guide edit, and nice riding! I'm sold! So jazzed they allow e-mtb!
Thanks! Glad you dug it.
Thanks Alan for all the actionable info. Planning on going there and this helps a lot👍
Heck yeah! Glad to help!
FYI. There are a couple trail updates: Deck the Halls is open and fun. And there's another trail...but kind of two new trails. You'll see! :)
Headed there next Thursday - thanks for the insight, Alan!
Awesome!
FYI, there have been some updates to Neverland Jumpline, so watch out for those.
this is a great guide! Thank you!
Happy to help! 👊🏾
Nice video man! Keep up the good work 🤙
Thanks! Will do.
I race for NICA and I get 75% off season passes, so I’m super excited to check this place out soon 👍
Oh nice! That's good to know!
You're gonna have a blast!
Me and my family love this place! We live nearby and go twice a week. I'm limited to certain runs bc i have a 5yr old, 7yr old and 9yr old. I let the 9yr do lower Arrow sometimes while I do playground with the other two. But staying this week I'm going to bring 9yr old by himself and we're going to check out jump line and try Knotty and Nice. Great vid and see you on the trails 🤘🏽
Sweet!
FYI. Knotty or Nice is no longer a descent trail. It's been converted into a climbing trail for eBikes.
Have a rad time up there!
went to skypark today! didnt ride but looks awesome for beginner riders like me
Heck yeah! Great for beginners.
I LOVE sky park it’s really fun I’m going again this year 👌🏽
Heck yeah! Such a fun place!
Very good overview, will visit it on the weekend.
Heck yeah! If you're talking about the July 9th, 2022, there's a rad event that I'm attending there.
Great video! Pretty much explained it all!
Thanks Rob! Skypark keeps making improvements, and keeps me in business making guides. Already out of date. 😅
Goin out to Adam Mocks Rode and Shine again and needed a refresher on Skypark. This was just what I needed!
🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Great video Alan! Didn’t know this place was open year round… I will be in SoCal at the end of March and will definitely hit this place up…
Heck yeah! You’re gonna have a blast!
Definitely need to ride that park. Looks fun, and a perfect fit for my new Rail 7!
💯
Love your explanation man.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info
My pleasure.
Such a great guide! Went for Bikefest today and your video was perfection. GoPro effect is so real and the twisty section of Arrow is way sketchier in person.
Heck yeah! Love their events up there.
Great video!!! Going up this weekend for the first time with some buddies.
Heck yeah! Just know that a couple things have changed:
- Neverland Jumpline has seen a couple updates to a couple of the jumps
- Knotty or Nice is no longer a down trail
- There's an e-bike only upline now
But it's still a hella fun place!
Tell them I sent ya!
@@mtb_alan I can't wait and thank you for the heads up on the changes!
Great video man. This place looks like a blast wish i had year round riding im in Rhode Island good weather is coming cant wait to get back out there and off the indoor bike 🤣
Thanks! Hope you get a ride in soon.
Or make a SoCal trip! 😱
@@mtb_alan someday i will head west thanks man🤘
Thanks! Perfect timing! Going there in two weeks and this was super helpful. Anyone have insight on their rental availability? Planning to get there before they open on a Sunday so hopefully that’s enough to ensure we get bikes.
Nice! Weather will hopefully be in your favor.
I don't know if you can reserve a bike before you arrive, but you can always call them for the most accurate info.
That was solid! Now I wanna go. I also want a burger. 🍔 ✌🏼🤟🏼
Oh man...! Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to get a burger up there for a while. Did we just make our next trail date?
@@mtb_alan I think we did. 😍🍔🚵🏼♂️
Sky Park is the BEST!
💯
Great video, I’m a total noob and have never been up to the mountain to ride, but am thinking about trying this park out. Any tips? I have a hard tail. Thanks and great video!
A hardtail will work great there.
Skypark is great for new riders!
Not specific to Skypark but more of a general tip. It's something you'll see on signs at bike parks:
Pre-ride, Re-ride, Free-ride.
And this just means take your time getting to know the trails and the dirt before pushing it.
Hope you have a rad time up there!
planning to visit this soon .I did Snow summit and Valley (your videos did help me a lot) Thanks Rad Alan. btw, do you know any shop I can have my SAG measurement on my suspensions around LA?I have 2018 SPecialized demo8 ii. Thanks and ride safe!!
Glad to help!
re: sag measurement
I don't know shops in the LA area. You should be able to set sag yourself, yeah? If you need to borrow a shock pump from a shop, I'm sure any local bike shop that sells MTBs will lend you theirs.
If you're not far from the Tustin area, the people at The Path Bike Shop are great.
Hey Alan love your videos, Planning on visiting June 🤘
Glad you dig the vids! Heck yeah! You’re in for a rad time!
@@mtb_alan I'm torn between snow summit or skypark 🤔
Why not both?
ruclips.net/video/GYovkcBNV_M/видео.html
Also, I'd say it'll depend on what you want. Skypark has more of a chill vibe whereas Snow Summit is more of a "go fast, go big, and party" vibe. I love both.
@@mtb_alan thanks for your input 🙌 appreciate it 🤙
i’ve been waiting for this video to come out since i was up there last 😂 i am brando’s sister the one you met at skypark that day 😂 anyways great video!
Yo! It was good to meet you. You made it into the vid!
i did that was funny! never thought i would make it into one 😂 it was nice to meet you too btw, it was fun that day
We'll have to get some follow-cam!
for sure! ✨
One day I’ll make it out there 🤘🏼
Yeah man! Let’s do it. 🤘🏾
Just found your channel, love you attitude and hype for mountain biking! Keep up the great work, look forward to your future videos.
Thanks Chris!
Nice vid man. Spring is swinging. Getting closer to Summit season!!! Are those disc golf discs on the piano?
Heck yeah! Looking forward to Summit!
Ha! Naw, they’re cross-stitch(?) designs. One says “Ride fast. Don’t die”. 😆
Excellent video! And that hair, so on point. You need to get sponsored by a shampoo company.😉👍
LOL! That Vidal Sassoon money.
Alan, great review! Can you do this park in a day or do you need a couple of days?
Easily done in one day. 🤘🏾
Super Rad channel.. !!... Great content.. !!
thx!!!..
Thanks! 👊🏾
Awesome video Alan. I’ve been there a handful of times, and not been on a few of those trails. It’s nice to see you ride them and know everything is ride-able. Why didn’t you mention the trail that you helped name? Or were you fully responsible for naming it! I thought that was super RAD the last time I was there and saw your name on the trailhead.
Thanks!
I did name Knotty or Nice, but I figure my face on the trail sign it is enough. :)
Glad you dug the vid!
@@mtb_alan
Gotta give credit where credit is due.
So jealous of SoCal mtb having close access to bike parks. I hope the gilroy plan goes through
We are definitely fortunate...when the forest isn't burning. 😆
Deck the Halls is an XC style trail with lots of uphill, but also plenty of downhill. It’s definitely not a shortcut, because it takes way longer than if you stayed on Upline. Either way, it’s a good trail if you’re into XC biking, and it’s also pretty rewarding when you get to the end of it. Also, I just went today and it is not called playground anymore, the sign just says lower sleigh ride instead of playground like it used to.
🤘🏾
I'll be out there in July! Comet looks SICK! Do you happen to know what the e-bike rental bikes are?
Awesome. I don’t have rental info. But you can always DM the Skypark Bike Park Instagram with questions. 🤘🏾
Seems like they have fairly easy trails. Cant make judgment from only video but neverland seems like a easy black where I ride.
Yeah, it’s all pretty manageable. But hella fun!
So stoked on this. I'm moving to SoCal in about 5 months and will definitely be a frequent visitor here!
Also. Why doesn't every bike park have adedicated session jump, what a good idea!
Heck yeah! You’re gonna be stoked.
There are a few places that have something similar.
@@mtb_alan my current local bike park (Mountain Creek in NJ) is pretty great, and has a really sessionable short jump line. But it's a pretty serious line and not great for learning.
Oh dang! That place looks sick! It's def on my list of places I wanna ride.
@@mtb_alan it's an amazing place! Highly recommend, serious northeast chunk but also plenty of flow and jump lines. I'm really going to miss riding there.
Hey man, how long would you say the climb is to the top? I'm thinking if it's going to be worth the ticket to the bike fest this weekend..
The climb is a couple hundred feet. It’s worth it.
Great Video thanks. How tall are you and what size bike do you ride? I'm 5'6"or 5'7" and I literally just bout the cannadale Habit 4 in Small and in Medium
Thanks! I’m 5’6” and ride medium.
was that van girl yuka ?? nice vid ... thanks for the tour
Sure was. 😉
ruclips.net/video/5q001Ez1yrc/видео.html
What up Crew, he's MTB Alan and just a friendly reminder that if he can have a RAD day on a bike, so can YOU!
Yewwww 🤙
Accurate.
One caveat( or two)
They allow class 1 eMTB; the site says no class2 or 3. For some reason they say not even if you remove or disconnect the accelerator.
I love Skypark, and obviously a lot of others do as well - evidenced by the fact that they eliminated the monthly membership that allowed you to join for 6 months, i.e. from late Spring through early Fall (when it isn't too cold/snowy), so that the rate was more affordable - it would cost approx. 1/2 the annual pass rate. They now offer only the annual pass ($400) or a daily pass, which is disappointing. The daily rate is a bit pricey at $60 - it is more expensive than lift served areas like nearby Big Bear and Snow Valley. There are still many pluses to riding at Skypark, such as their daily watering of trails to make the surface great and reduce dust, their grooming of trails, cool features, etc. Weekends are usually crowded though - too many riders and not enough trails.
I didn’t know about the six month deal that they had.
It can indeed get busy on the weekends. I’ve found though that except for on the few totally packed days (like when there’s an event), there may be a crowd at the top, but with a little patience and timing, I can get laps without running into other riders too much.
There was Camper Gilr Yuka and BCPOV at the end... 🤣
Yah. Van Girl Yuka and BCPOV came out to visit a while ago.
ruclips.net/video/5q001Ez1yrc/видео.html
Of course now, that trail is no longer. It's now an upline for ebikes.
I am going to So Cal next week and am going to hit this. Can you demo bikes here too. Like nice ones?
You can rent them. :)
@@mtb_alan Thanks Alan
👊🏾
Was that Yuka at the end?
Ya! And BCPOV (Eric).
@@mtb_alan YEEW!
No love for the Comet skinnies? ;) Were they roped off due to all the recent moisture?
I know. I neglected them. 😬
i am planning a trip to that area and can only choose 1 bike park to go. Should i go Skypark or snow summit?
which has the longest trails with lots of flow and berms?
Snow Summit is gonna have the longest trails with flow. It’s a bigger and much faster park.
Skypark is small but still pretty fun. And it’s a unique experience.
It might be worth it to do as well as Snow Summit. The parks are only about 45 minutes to an hour away from each other.
Going there in 2 weeks can’t wait . Do you know the cost of renting the bikes .
I don’t know but they might have the pricing on their website. Or you can call. 👍🏾
Dunno if they're still doing it, but the last few seasons at least demos were half-off on Thursdays.
@@trevorwalton nice that’s when am going and 2 more days
I see that bc pov there
And Yuka!
You can bring an ebike like a levo there right?
Yup!
its open??
Due to the recent snow, the trails are shut down (Feb 2022), but they keep the park open as long as weather permits.
Can you pay for just the bike park alone
As far as I know, it's all the same entry fee.
TBF, all the bathrooms, etc. are in the main park, and they have no reasonable way to keep people from entering the main park from the trails.
I will say though, the first time you go, you'll find yourself in the main park for food, drinks, bathrooms, etc. Hanging out there after riding or for your midday break is pretty sweet.
Is sky park regular dirt
I'm not sure what you mean by "regular dirt".
@@mtb_alan like San Clemente dog park dirt
@@obidian9943 Got it. The dirt has more organic material from the trees, gets more moisture, and doesn't get so baked in the sun. So it is generally grippier, and there is less hard pack.
@@mtb_alan 😊
