Mountain biking has always been my favorite sport, but as a broke high school student i've only had those crappy department store ones 😭. This year, I decided to save up and get myself a budget beginner one that can at hopefully last me a while, the GT Aggressor from Dick's, and I must say as a beginner who only rides my local park trails for now with only a few downhill trails (Richmond, VA has nothing nearby), it's so fun. Some day I hope to be able to shred like you, phil! You're an inspiration.
Your right about the camera not doing cats paw justice but still great watching you ride it to learn all the fun little line on it. Also s/o Jerrel such a nice guy and crazy he’s only been riding like 3 years
Unless you've ridden here, you really can't appreciate how fast you're rippin down these trails, especially the tight switchbacks. Sick riding as usual! See you out there.
A collab with danny hart would be sick to see now they both ride for gt. Would be interested to see what Phil thinks of uk trails and Danny's descent bike park
Only, highland right now in New England. Highland is a mountain bike only park so they don't have to swap things over from ski season to bike season unlike most resorts in the northeast. Most bike parks in the area wont open until late may/june.
@@SkillsWithPhil still, that bike park looks so kick ass. Orange County and northern county of San Didgo only have the following: Skypark, Vailocity, and Luesenño Bike Park. They all pale to comparison to Highland.
The lens is a bit more vulnerable and I so want to run it in the mud, but the extra FOV is really handy and the distortion isn't bad. I haven't committed to it yet, but I want to make a full video with it to see how I feel.
@@SkillsWithPhil I think I may be in the minority in thinking that your standard camera setup is better, but I've always thought you've had one of the best camera setups of any mtb youtubers I've seen. That said the new setup was also quite good and showcased how much you move the bike around really well in my opinion, it just doesn't convey the same sense of how gnarly the terrain is for me.

I would have liked to have seen your whole bike in full frame at some point during the footage. I don't know what it looks like. The wide angle lens at the end was ok, but hard to adjust to after the previous footage. That place looks fun !
I am just amazed how Phil picks the line, makes a gap and lands precisely where he wants to. I land somewhere within 15ft in diameter of where I intend to 🤣
The camera angle at the end was awesome 🤩 It looks more as your POV, thou it’s a bit fishy(like it rounds the edges on a fish eye lens), but still like it Nice video👊🏻
Hey Phil just wondering what kind of tires you and Haley run on your bike and if you would ever try the continental tires. I have been running them on my 2022 giant stance for a couple months and have loved them they have got to be the best sidewall and pinch protection I’ve ever seen in a tire and I haven’t really seen many people in Australia running them.
Can you do a 3rd person POV video? I want to see how you go through berms, drops and jumps. I learn by watching how people do it and your videos does not let me see how you do it
Hehe, I appreciate the sentiment, but Jackson goldstone is on another level. I say this as someone who has raced world cups in the past. The top 5 riders on the World Cup circuit are make the top 30 riders look slow.

Loose bolts and things needed a few rides to settle in is part of the normal new bike process. It always takes a few rides to get them setup.

Eh didn’t like the experimental camera view. Extra FOV is nice but the distortion is way too much. Usual setup looks much more natural.
