    It’s a shame what all the rain Vermont got this summer did to the trails. They got so washed out and bumpy. Killington’s flow trails are known for being silky smooth. I hope they can resurface them for next season

      Yeah, I had a few first-year riders join me a couple times this year and normally would've been quick to show them Sideshow Bob as a natural progression, but the trail surface was such that I hesitated until they were really comfortable with speed over bumps.

    So good! This day was my first time up at Killington and I can't wait to go back. Saw all of you jumping on the lift when you got there, which was cool. Goat skull was so fun, and man were you cruising! Would love to see you do a video where you breakdown carrying more speed through rough tech like that. Obviously training yourself to see and pick good lines is a must, but what else are you doing bike/body wise to go from maybe being quick, to fast?
    Also, hats off to you for towing that random guy into the cable drop. I had a local kid tow me into that, so I can definitely appreciate that.

    Killington did a poor ass job maintaining their trails this year. rain just an excuse. No other park in the north east was in this bad a shape. Blue Magic was a safety hazard and there were loose rocks all over the landings on on jump start.

    So, as youre saying you got rid of cushcore because of weight, I would rather choose a lighter tire. I guess you run a DH casing?
    On my DH Bike I run a Supertrail casing Tacky Chan up front, and a Big Betty Supergravity on the rear with a Rimpact tireinsert each. Havent had a single flat the whole season and i do ride gnarly, rocky trails as well. Maybe not the gaphunter like you, but definitely not "bumbling down the trails" 😂

    Healey drive clipless and you drive flat pedals ? Why a pro like you ride flat ?

    • @SkillsWithPhil
      @SkillsWithPhil  4 месяца назад +1

      Hailey grew up racing cross country and has always ridden clipped in. I grew up racing BMX clipped on but when I transitioned to downhill racing i felt more comfortable in flats. I've ridden MTB clipped in but I just enjoy riding flats, its more fun and helps me bail off the bike quicker. I attribute the relatively few injuries ive gotten over my career in part to that.

    • @SkillsWithPhil
      @SkillsWithPhil  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would not rule that out, but i think what you are hearing is a result of cold temperatures. Oil moves less freely in suspension, tires are, ground is frozen in spots. There's something about the cold that changes how a bike feels and the noises the make
