I’m afraid it will be far worse,they will be lots of parents and institutions bring sued and I think some will be so distressed at what their Parents done to thrm they will act out violently in rage and the result will not be good. As sad as all that sounds it will be understandable ,imagine at 16 or 18 figuring out what your Parents done to you and that it cannot be undone and the entirety of your life is destroyed. Also imagine the self appointed egotism to actually make a decision of such grand impact upon another humans life. Some will and are applauding this woman but I don’t think she should ever be let off the hook for what she done to her sons. It is unforgivable this is something that she don’t just get to giggle about and say oops. Maybe when she gets old and feeble and cannot defend or speak against something her sons will take her and have her gender re assigned .
I've said this so much. Give it 10-20 years. Everyone will realize they were wrong, NO ONE will apologize for how they treated the logical people, and they will fall right in like with the next big new thing at the time.
There are already many detransitioners out there who feel betrayed by the movement! A lot of them feel that the adults should have been more adult and put on the brakes before body modifications were started. This is occurring in many countries, not just the USA. These are human beings who have permanently lost the ability to procreate!

"Children Must Lead" is an absolutely insane philosophy
We used to honor the elders for their experiences and wisdom and they were the ones who lead the tribes. To allow children to lead is counter intuitive in so many ways!! I just never understood why.
@@xhaltsalute Here is why: a lot of elders are not good leaders, they can't even make sense of their own experiences and they aren't wise.
If one has grown up with incompetent elders there are usually two main ways they start to think:
1. Denial. "It can't be true that they are incompetent, in fact they can do no wrong because they are elders/in positions of authority. Any bad thing that was ever done was actually a good thing, and what a loving parent should do." This leads to more incompetence in the next generation as well as psychological issues from trying to make sense of the nonsensical.
2. Inversion. "The elders around me were incompetent, that means all elders are incompetent and none are fit to lead, the whole system is wrong. The thing a loving parent should do and how to stop this destructive repetition is to do the opposite and let the child lead or have no leader at all." This, just like option 1, leads to more incompetence and psychological issues.
Both of these are obviously destructive, and option 1 having been culturally mandated is what caused option 2 to eventually develop into a movement. They both need to stop, the solution to the twisted ideology of option 2 is not the twisted ideology of option 1.

When my son was 13 years old and I was growing into that phase of parenthood generally (he's 41 now and this stuff wasn't even an issue back then), he said to me once day "Mum I need you to be the leader".
So I was. I got myself some counselling to help me parent my highly intelligent, business focused young man with high quality. ❤

The child didn't lead her. The child could sense what made his parents happy and acted in a way to receive their approval. The same way kids root for the same team as their Dad.
Also the factor it's a lesbian couple. Boys need fathers. Healthy nuclear families with two birth parents is ideal. It's not uncommon for kids from single mother households are messed up in some way, two women raising two boys? Recipe for disaster.

Reminds me of the big American scandal, when children began lying to their parents about molestation in schools. The parents would pressure the children, have 'suspicions' and keep asking if things were ok etc. Eventually, kids learned that the parents didn't want to hear that things were ok, but that things were weird and it spiralled into some crazy stories about demonic rituals and molestation. Children are incredibly stupid, but also incredibly adaptive.

My son never said he was a girl, but when he was little, he did repeatedly try to convince me that he could fly. It never occurred to me to stand him on the windowsill and say "go for it honey, be yourself!" A cult indeed.
And yet, you'll still have people saying the two situations cannot be compared. I'd say that willingly mutilating your child is right up there with having them jump off the ledge...
Mine walked around holding either 2 or 3 fingers out depending upon whether or not he was a velociraptor that day or a T-Rex. It never occurrd to me to have him surgically altered to fit his dinosaur persona. It's insane that one can go to college in order to unlearn biology so basic that even mice know the difference.
For some reason gender dysphoria seems to be pretty much the only mental disorder we should just automatically agree upon that the feels are more important than reals.
E.g. for anorexia the right way (at least not yet) is not to tell a person who suffers from it that they still are too chubby and should eat even less when they have delusions that they are too fat while being malnourished.

I have idiots telling me all the time my 4yr old is "Gay" or "trans" because he plays with a doll and pram I've almost come to blows with these cultists with how hyper aggressive these people get over it even when its not their children.
The biggest fucking irony they don't even listen to thier own mantra of "it's the child's choice!" Because even when they ignore me ask my son what he's doing he always says the same thing "I'm being a dad and Taken care of my baby!" And they won't accept it.

If you consider that people in "high" positions were "friends" with Jeffrey Epstein then we may have a reason why this is systemically supported.
I agree it should be widely known and excepted that kids can't consent to most things and especially can't consent to s3x or gender identity (gender ideology)or gender reassignment surgery or hormone replacement therapy
That’s exactly what’s going on right now.
I wouldn’t agree that kids can wholly consent to things surgeries themselves. However, it is probably important to recognize that if a child has a mental disorder, you do need to listen to their concerns and needs and take them to a doctor or specialists so that they may receive the treatment they need (whether that’s counseling, therapy, or even gender reassignment or surgery). These sorts of decisions should be made with the child, parent , and care provider all in the loop to help that child. Shouldn’t be all up to the parents, children, or care providers exclusively.

As a parent, your task is to give a clarity to a kid, not to confuse them even more than a world does.
“Letting a child lead” is abdication of responsibility and negligence.

But so many parents are letting their child lead. Transgenderism is just one trap out there that is made to catch unguided children.

They are forgetting the main issue is `where they are leading the child to`... There may be hundreds of reasons why a child says something strange, different or profound. Instead of trying to understand the child, they go after what the child litterally says and you are certainly right - this is abdication of parental responsibility.
On other words, when a child says: "I´m a dog", then "oh, yes you are a dog since you say so, or feel so". And then, change immidiately the name, the way the child lives to make it more like a dog - instead of trying to understand the reasons why the child says so, and lead him/or her to understanding themselves instead of to changing themselves.
Here is our story. We live in a suburban town in the US. When our daughter was in the middle of 8th grade, we started noticing that she was getting aloof and not wanting to talk to us, which was unlike her. We knew that a good friend of her had recently transitioned from a girl to a boy and took on a boy's name. My daughter continued to be a good friend, and being liberals, we never thought much of it. Then our daughter started asking strange questions - like what we would have named her if she were a boy. She asked me how I knew I was a male. I did not suspect anything and gave her honest and science based answers. A few days later, she told us that she was not sure if she was a girl and she wanted to change her pronouns to "they." We were utterly unprepared for how to handle the sudden revelation, but our immediate instinct was to tell her that we loved her and we would support her no matter what.
At that point, we were completely ignorant of the wars being fought in the larger society on gender ideology and academic theories backing this movement. Our only point of reference was our kid's transgender friend, about which we did not bat an eyelid. My wife and I talked about taking our kid to a therapist to help her through her thoughts and emotions. But after what our daughter told us, I had to understand where she was coming from. So, I dove deep into the literature and to my horror, discovered a wide world out there - with gender studies academics claiming that gender was a social construct and the extent to which that view had taken over most of levers of power and influence in the society. I also studied the counter views. Within a month, I was fully caught up with the entire gender war raging in the society. I could not believe how oblivious we have been to a tsunami taking over the society around us.
My profession is math and science. I can logically analyze any argument and get to its bottom by myself, I don't need someone else to do it for me. As I read more and more of the gender ideology literature, I could see through it with increasing clarity that it was pure bogus and the so called academic theories were nothing but academic fraud. They use opaque language to make their ideas sound profound and deep, but if you cut through the clutter, they are mere assertions pulled out of thin air. It is a scandal that these academics are paid to produce and publish such BS. Worse, I was disgusted to discover the extent to which this craziness had taken over the American pediatric association and the American psychiatric association and how gender affirming treatment had become the norm.
Then I came across the work of Lisa Littman. At that point, we decided to probe our daughter a bit more about why she thought she was not a girl; to our surprise, we discovered that 4 of her friends (we knew of only one until then) also decided that they were transgender and were in the process of transitioning. Almost every box of ROGD that Lisa Littman wrote about, check, check and check for our kid. We then laid out in front of our daughter the literature that we read. It did not take long for her to see that Lisa Littman was basically talking about kids like her. We were not afraid of being responsible parents; we swung into action and did some plain speaking to our daughter - that she was indeed a girl and that she needed to critically examine the influences she was being subjected to.
At the same time, we knew how powerful peer influences are and the strength of the pull the friends have at that age. While we were talking to our daughter regularly, we no longer trusted her school & teachers and we thought we needed to get her out of her school and the peer group she was hanging out with. We told her there are bigger goals to aim for in life instead of getting sucked into the self-centered and narcissistic swamp of gender identity and losing sight of the larger purpose of life. We then took the hard decision of taking her out of the public school and enrolled her in a private school. It was expensive, but we decided that getting our kid a fresh start was worth every penny we earned. She is doing well for now and the smile is back on her face. She was pulling away from her siblings when she was in the middle of the gender toxicity, but she is now back to her usual loving self. She is engaged in the science Olympiad team and other positive activities at her new school. We are glad we acted decisively and took our job as parents seriously instead of giving in to a fraudulent fad.
Along the way, we began to connect the dots to see how the gender ideology lobby had taken over the public school system, education departments, universities and the Democrat party that I voted for all my life. Our kid's old school distributed free copies of a summer reading book in which the main characters were queer. The "Wings of Fire" book series had dragons that were queer. Most of the youth TV shows seem hell bent on pushing non-hetero sex on kids in an aggressive in-your-face way, even on airplane entertainment systems. About 80% of the summer book reading list of our local public school is now based on gender or some other identity, and worse, some of them have such vulgar language describing explicit sexual acts that one wonders what kind of sick minds thought it was fit recommend such books for 13 - 15 year olds. It's one thing if adults do what they please with themselves and their bodies. But it's inexcusable that the progressives decided to create a new world by brainwashing our kids as guinea pigs in their grand social experiment.
I no longer trust the mental health professionals and pediatricians in the US when it comes to kids' mental health. I don't know whom I can trust in the US. I am determined to discredit the fraudulent social theorists in the universities who are not only coming up with this kind of nonsense, but are brazenly experimenting with our kids. I will put every penny I can muster to support any political candidate who swears to stop this nonsense. I am done with the Democrats for now. I am paying attention to Ron DeSantis.
Added on 8/11/23: I have come back to this post after several months of writing it to make a change to last sentence above. Having followed the presidential candidates over the past months, I now believe that Vivek Ramaswamy is the best candidate who can protect children and families from the the cult of transgendarism. I am now a firm supporter of Vivek.

What a great comment. Thank you for telling your story. I've been watching this trend for a long time as one of my sons flirted with this for quite some time. I always knew he was brainwashed by his college and societal trends and Marxism. Things have moved even further into insanity since then. I commend you for taking the steps that you took to save your daughter. I don't know what it will take to stop this. Law suits maybe. No one can think for themselves these days.
Excellent story. I hope you have learned that the Democratic Party doesn’t have any answers or solutions beyond mutilate your child, tax the rich, and more government programs and involvement in your life.
I remember telling my parents crazy shit when I was young and they would barely acknowledge me, knowing I was just a kid saying random words.
This is definitely a nurture situation. My daughter started dressing different at 13. Got very depressed and erratic. I heard from her brother that she was getting into all that gender questioning. She had a trans friend etc.. She did not tell me. I did not confront her about it. I started talking about it though. About 'other' people. I said it was really sad. I said it was a trend that girls put on like makeup styles. But they were forcing a trend on them for the rest of their lives. How horrified I would be to get stuck with my hairstyle at 14 yrs old forever. But that is nothing compared to losing your body. I also had a medical history making me very familiar with surgery. These were life saving operations and still they were a horror. I talked about the pain of operations. I talked about her being stuck with her hello kitty phase outfits sewn on her body forever. And I talked and talked and was told I was phobic and old. But I kept talking. She now has long hair again and a boyfriend. She no longer talks about these things. Her trans friend had serious problems and is no longer a friend. I didn't do anything extreme. I just told the truth and kept telling it. I made sure she knew I did not hate them but I knew this was sickness. That I was always going to be her ally even if that meant fighting against her if necessary. I would never concede to that madness. But it really didn't take all that. It just took words and certainty.

I tell my daughter "my job is to keep you safe" all the time. I will never deviate from that. Giving her unnecessary medication and surgery is not safe.
My own generation is broken. Can you not remember being a kid yourself? In what world do children not deserve to be children, and live that care-free life where they can focus their youthful energy into their education and social education?
I remember being a kid and if anyone had come into our classroom pretending to be the opposite gender, they would have been relentlessly teased and shamed. I am all for bringing back shame if it equals less confused kids, less child suicides, and people not glamorizing degeneracy.

And those types absolutely do deserve to be shamed out of that lifestyle. And please don't get me wrong, I am all for the LGBTQ thing when it is all consenting adults. Forcing it onto pre-pubescent children just to satisfy one's own 'beliefs' is nothing short of child abuse. And yes, when I was growing up, the class would have broken out in hysterical laughter in unison if any given boy were to step in dressed full on as a girl, Hello Kitty and all.. And it was for childish reasons, because we were literal children. We grew up, learned the realities of life and learned to live and let live. Live and let live..
It’s really mind boggling… who as an adult thinks, “when I was 14 (16, 18, whatever… all the same answer) I knew enough to make a decision like that.” This isn’t getting your ears pierced.. it’s literally surgery that goes against nature. If you’re an adult, then go for it. Adults live with their decisions everyday, but children?
The reality is these are herd mentality people. They don’t think for themselves, even when it’s so blatantly stupid.
What makes absolutely no sense to me is that the same people who claim gender is a social construct will also judge a child's gender by whether the child likes pink and whether they like to play with dolls. It's a complete contradiction. How do they not see it? I'm a woman. I never was big into pink or dolls. I loved climbing trees and playing with the boys because there was less drama. Thank the good Lord my parents weren't in the woke cult.
It all starts making sense very quickly once you become aware of one apparently innocuous detail. Have you ever noticed how almost every time progressives talk about individuals or a group of people in an academic sounding fashion, the most recurring word is “body/bodies”? Well, that is how a majority of their theoretical texts refer to human beings, as just “bodies”, as if one’s identity had nothing to do with a person’s mind, feelings, inner life, values, opinions, ideas, personal experiences, etc. All coming together in complicated and complex ways to create individuality. No, to them identity is purely skin deep, which also allows them to keep their so-called theories, actually a bunch of irrational claims and circular logic hidden behind obscure word-salad, as bare bones as possible by not needing to apply anything even remotely resembling the scientific method to their inquiries.
Also, “all human behaviours and characteristics are a social construct” only serves as a diversion from their belief that speech is ALWAYS performative (= words correspond to acts in certain contexts, like saying “I swear” in a court of law). What they basically believe, though, is that words have a direct, magic like effect on the world, which explains why they insist on words being actual violence and the need for PC Newspeak. To them, what we consider objective reality is nothing but a “reality effect” created by the dominant (=patriarchal) narrative that could be easily flipped on its head if people adopted their narrative.
This whole pink/blue thing is absurd. There is absolutely no innate preference for certain colours based on biological sex; all babies and children naturally prefer bright colours to dark or dull ones or neutrals. The "pink for girls, blue for boys" thing originated as a marketing gimmick in the mid-20th century. I knew nothing about it as a child however and always preferred blue to pink. Maybe because I have red hair my mother consciously dressed me in blue or green more often than my older sister, just because it looked better on me. My "best dress" was usually blue, while my dark-haired sister's was usually red or pink. But I was fine with that. I had no concept of blue not being a "feminine" colour.

@@carltaylor6452 gender and sex were largely the same thing until Simone de Beauvoir. Gender norms on the other hand are a social construct. Men used to wear frilly lace, make up, and high heels for example. Men in the middle east wear what I would consider a dress.

I was a gender dysphoric child in the 90s and I'm glad my dad talked common sense into me "you are a boy".
Now I'm a proud father; this wouldn't be possible if I got pressed the other way.
Im a 1990 kid, i had gender dysphoria also through childhood and teenage years but it was because i had other mental health issues and went away by 18 and manifested in different ways in my life. If i was going through that now its terrifying to think i might have been caught up in this ideology without proper exploration to find out what the cause was and was not

I was a tomboy who HATED being a girl and I even used to tell my parents that I "should" have born a boy. I especially DESPISED puberty, which hit me like an Australian road train. If I'd been born in 2000, I would've been "affirmed" into puberty blockers and hormones and surgery. . . and the resultant sterilization.
But once my psychological womanhood caught up with my physical womanhood, I was grateful no doctor ever "diagnosed" me as a transboy.
This whole "gender affirmation" is rendering thousands of children sterile.
but imagine how much more happy and proud you could be as a mother. just think about it....

A parent is not a parent to satisfy our own dreams and aspirations for our child/children. Our job is to love, nuture, protect, guide and correct our children in such a way that they grow up to be who they are, and to be reasonable and honourable adults who are capable of making good and wise decisions.
We are to parent not rule, control or plan our child's life. There comes a time when we step aside and they then decide the path he or she will follow.
It is not up to us to decide if they should be something or someone they were not born to be just because we want them to be something else! That is child abuse!

Well done, my aunt had the same issue with her daughter. 7 girls all decided that they were trans. Her response was quite different. When her daughter at 14, said that she was trans, my aunt said, “You are? Well, I must be too.” Which horrified my my little cousin. My aunt went all out, the next morning she came downstairs sporting my uncles clothes with her hair dyed the same pink and blue that my cousin had. My cousin freaked out. “ MOM, YOU ARE NOT TRANS!” She said that she must be, she was a tomboy as a teen, and that thanks to her daughter for making her see the light, she is going to do the trans thing with her. My cousin, was beside herself, because “she” now was the one who was responsible for making her mom think that she was trans.
Later that morning, my aunt got a call from my cousin saying that she had forgotten her lunch, and could she bring it to her? Sure no problem.
My aunt showed up at the school, called her to the office, and there was her mom, wearing mens clothing, sporting a brand new man’s haircut, and get this…one of those stick on French moustaches. My cousin was so embarrassed it’s hilarious.
Anyhow, my aunt was able to find out the names of all of the other girls, she knew most of the parents, contacted them all, had a meeting with them, and shockingly convinced all of them to do the same exact thing. 5 moms and one construction worker dad who actually would wear a dress and work boots and went off in public looking like that.
The school got involved demonized the parents, but..the parents all responded by saying “How dare you misgender me? Are you trying to invalidate my true self?” All of them gave a similar response and the woke backed off and stupidity accepted their “transformations”.
Long story short, all seven girls did not accept their parent’s transitions in the least. They were literally “transphobic”. The end result was, by trying to convince the parents that “they were NOT trans” they actually convinced themselves that they were not either. The more they gave reasons as to why their parents were not trans, the less they believed in the nonsense of the T-Bully Cult. The girls be came the voice of reason for both their parents and themselves.
Everyone is back to normal, the girls saw the foolishness of their actions, and once the parents were positive that they’re daughters were no longer at risk, they switched back too about a moth after the girls were in the clear.
This was a few years ago, the girls all now know that the parents transitioning was just a farce done to make them see for their own foolishness.

Oh, I’ve got another one. One time she went to a take out or something, she asked to use the washroom, they directed her to them, so, as usual, she went into the woman’s washroom. Before she could get to a stall, the cashier, (female) came in after her and told her,
“If YOU want to PRETEND that you’re a man, YOU can go use the MEN’S washroom! We don’t want PEOPLE LIKE YOU using ours!”
My aunt was stunned.
The cashier had no idea that she was “pretending” to be trans at all. That’s just what this person thought about trans people. She literally didn’t want a woman, who transitioned to a man, to use the ladies washroom because “she” was now a man.
So my aunt asked her, “What if I was a man, transitioning to a woman, would I be able to use the ladies washroom then?”
The cashier replied, “NO, YOU would go to the men’s washroom, where you belong.”
In other words, no trans people what so ever were allowed to use the ladies washrooms because that was for ladies only. All trans people had to use the men’s.
I’m not sure what you call that, but my aunt really had no problem with that concept at all.
So, my aunt, for the first time in her life, used the men’s washroom.

My sisters child thought he was a girl. My sister took him to a trans counselor just for this specific specialty. The counselor was a trans male to female. The counselor told my sister that her son needs counseling for at least 1 year before he makes decisions. At the end of the year, the counselor told my sister that her son was not trans and doesn’t want to be a woman. He is doing fine today as an adult!

I was sexually abused as a young girl by multiple men and I absolutely wanted to be a boy because I thought that would keep me safe from such people (not realizing that boys could also suffer such abuse). If I'd been given that choice as a child, I would've taken it and my life would be so messed up right now. I'm happily married to a good man and have children of my own. My best friend is trans. Man to female. She's 35 years old and started to transition when she was 30+. I support her wholeheartedly since she is a grown adult and she can do what she wants with her life. I am howewer kinda sceptical about letting very young kids transition. I think you need to be 18 to recieve any hormonal therapy. You can identify as the other sex and try it out for a couple of years before you turn 18. Why wait years? Because if they truly are trans they should be able to stick it out until they are 18, and the rest realize in that time that it wasn't really them. Many kids aged 13-16 especially have weird phases where they try out new styles etc. Somehow being trans and having mental illnesses in 2023 seem to have become a "style" which is not what it should be. The kids that think trans is a style has completely missed the mark and hopefully parents are aware of this phenomenon so they don't end up ruining their kids body for a kids flimsy whims. Having a mental ilness yaaaaayyy sooo coooooollll. (sarcasm)
Lol, when I was around 4, I'd sometimes paint my fingernails with my grandmother and older female cousin. If I asked her if she had a crush on any boy, she'd get shy, red faced, clam up, and refuse to even acknowledge the possibility. But she was VERY open about having a crush on different girls. Like it was just something she was saying, and not actually feeling. Shes never once brought a girl home, even though I said when you do,.I'll apologize, and pay for you two to go to dinner and movie, anything they want and I'll never ever bring it up again. Last week, she told me that she thinks she was wrong, and that she thinks she just wanted to fit it. She is waking up.

I had a similar situation and looking back on my daughters life…I defiantly see where the strong external influences came into play. I never believed my daughter was gay either. I did lots of reading and told her not to make any decisions until she was 24 that is when you are physically mentally and sexually mature along with a few other pointers. She is now 25 finishing university and has been going steady with a guy for 3 years. I wouldn’t want to wish that life style change on anyone… life can be difficult enough without having to deal with any sexual identity issues to add to the mix!

Can’t fathom that this is even legal- it’s definitely not in Germany. BUT it was still common practice to just snip off whatever gender wasn’t preferred with children who were born with both. I went through a cat phase and ate cat food too. We all do it. So glad we were allowed to "play" cats and dogs and not be turned into them!
My granddaughter also had a period she wanted to sleep with my dog, because she liked to be a dog, even barked to other dogs on the street. I told her O.K your a dog, but I can't walk 2 dogs at same time, so we have a problem, the dog wants out, you want out,what do we do? Her answer, well.....outside I'm not a real dog. The dog period lasted a few weeks nobody took it serious or made a big fuss . So happy 16 years ago there were no teachers or therapist telling her she was really a dog just by her believing it.

I grew up as a tomboy. Thank God I didn’t grow up in this generation with different parents. My parents were leaders in our house we had boundaries and rules. My mom made it very clear we were not friends and that she was the parent.

Well said. Eventually I think we'll get back to proper parenting, like what you're describing, but it seems that the Marxist idiots have captured some of our people for the moment. Going to disagree slightly. When you tell a child no and they ask why you should to the best of your ability have an answer why. If, as a parent to give directives and the reason is "because I said so", you are inadvertently conditioning your child to obey authority without question because they are used to not getting an answer.
We have to many people in society that does not question authority. They just do what they are told.

It's really perplexing that people still admit to being "progressive" with pride, as though it's some sort of virtuous perspective. The "progressive" ideology, if you scratch even a little below the surface, reveals itself to be a thin veneer over a neo-Marxist ideology. It is some sort of cult or quasi-religion, but one without a God and one with absolutely no moral basis. This allows for the anything goes, or perhaps more accurately "do what thou wilt is the whole of the law" of Alister Crowley (aka The Great Beast of 666) fame. The progressive ideology is enticing though, as it gives a framework in which everything that goes wrong in your life can be blamed on some external source. If you fail, it's because of systemic oppression of some sort. This invites people to live with an emphasis on malicious envy and projecting the cause of their failings onto others. Yet, people still proudly describe themselves as "progressives". Do they not realise the underlying basis? Are they just enthralled with the simple elegance of being able to blame the "other" for their problems?

I am a licensed therapist and I have always had an issue with this ideology. It’s very UNETHICAL to pursue becoming a therapist so that you can advocate for an ideology you identify with for whatever reason. Therapists are supposed to be OBJECTIVE and aware of how their beliefs might harm a client if left unchecked. I am happy to see parents like this speaking up and addressing that this is not okay and that therapists and doctors need to step it up!

Also nothing wrong with our euthanasia laws. It's used very rarely and mostly when a person needlessly suffers without amy chance of betterment.
My daughter is also high functioning autistic. She went through a similar phase. I did not encourage or condemn. I did not enable, I just left her with her thoughts. I knew that she didn't have the maturity to follow through with these ideas. I kept an eye out for "persistence, consistency, and distress." None of this appeared, so I just let it drop. She cut her hair short and wore "boy clothes" for a few weeks, but it didn't last. She's now happily married to a wonderful conservative Christian man.

It is like the era of being a tomboy has died. I was one, a couple of months uncomfortable when I was going through puberty, didn't like what was happening. My mom embraced me and told I was becoming a woman. Bothered me for a couple of months more and went away. Even until my late 20's I am still a tomboy. I refuse to wear purse, I only wear fanny packs, I'm the clown of my circle of friends, like to play rough sports, but when my bf and I go on dates, I love to doll up, curl my hair, wear a nice dress, heels and my fanny pack xD. It is like we forgot to embrace our individualistic selves. There are two genders but does not mean there are some females who are little more masculine and males that are little more feminine and that is okay, does not mean we are transgenders!

One thing you said though, is false. You said "there are two genders" -- this is false. There are two sexes, but no genders.
Trans ideology created the word "gender" -- it didn't exist. It was created only for trans ideology. Rose explained this well - no one is born trans, this is not innate in people. It took her years to learn this (and to unlearn the false basis behind trans ideology).

I live in Spain. About 7 years ago my well-meaning feminist friend passed on a 'documentary' about trans kids. It was put out by RTVE, the state TV channel. It contained happy stories of successful trans and accepting parents with a soft piano backing track. The only 'doctor' who appeared in it ran a private sex-change clinic in Madrid. I had to point out to her that no way was this a documentary.
The amount of state backed propaganda is one of the most frightening things about this ideology.

One big thing I learned from babysitting my nieces was that sometimes they would profess to want something outrageous just to see if they actually could be in charge and get away with it.
This reminds me off my cousin she once demanded my grandma makes her a mustard bread, with the extra strong French mustard.
She had her way, tasted one bite, spit it out, wanted something else.
Worst, my Grandma, as a war child, could not throw away food, so she ate it herself and made her spoiled child something else to eat.
I've had the same experience. I think it's pretty normal for kids to try this. Also seems pretty natural for us adult types to take this as an opportunity to temper them.
