  • Megyn Kelly takes a deep dive into the important issue of transitioning and detransitioning. Joining the show are Walt Heyer and Grace Lidinsky-Smith, who have detransitioned after transitioning to the opposite gender, who discuss the trauma that led to transitioning, the validation they got after transitioning, the struggles that led them to detransition, the hormone therapy and surgery related to the procedures, the internet and cultural impact that helps lead to quick transitioning, the defense mechanism of transitioning, the backlash detransitioners can face for speaking publicly, the rise in young girls transitioning, and more. Then pediatrician Dr. Julia Mason and clinical psychologist Dr. Erica Anderson join the show to talk about the push to "affirm" only, puberty blockers, the way America is lagging behind Europe in having a nuanced point of view, the need for individualized care, the need to have different treatments for adults and children, the policing out of society of gay identities, how toxic masculinity is leading to some teen boys to transition, and more.

Whether we like it or not all these trans-testimonies kinda prove Putin and the East Europeans are right about some things.
Like the ""homo adoptions"" issue as well.
Our Western society has been infiltrated and highjacked for decades at this point.
The infiltrators have SLOWLY groomed our people over generations into believing/accepting diseased ideas that our healthy great, great grandparents would never have fallen for.
Time to get based in the fundamentals of reality.
If nothing else, at least for the sake of all our innocent children.
""It is necessary that evil should come into the world; but woe unto him by whom evil cometh.

Sadly, many hetero girls are convinced to transition and think they will be able to date gay men. Lesbian girls are coerced & pressured to accept men into their dating pool & have sex with them. It's both a hetero male's fantasy to score lesbians AND it's a tremendous validation of their delusional identity that they are women & lesbians. We can't be patient with teens. With educational institutions & governments captured by this cult, along with entertainment media (including cartoons & anime), news outlets, & social media, teens are being bombarded continuously with propaganda & grooming for the trans cult. If we don't actively work to stop this, it will be too late for hundreds of thousands of children who will be harmed by the indocrination they receive from schools & the media they consume.

I’m a psychiatrist, and have seen several situations where young girls with a history of sexual abuse, decide that they were trans gender. In these cases the desire to be male appeared to be due to the trauma they were subjected to as a female.
So I absolutely agree that a lot of female to male “transgender” motivation comes from trauma. Not from any biological gender problem.
Also the mantra is that gender “dysphoria” causes mental health problems, and that allowing a person to change their gender will fix the mental health problem. At this point there is minimal evidence for this theory, and no prospective studies to confirm this. Clearly mental health problems can lead to self identity issues, which can be misconstrued as true gender dysphoria.
Allowing persons of non-legal age to make irreversible changes to their body is quite horrific, and does not appear to be necessary. I do agree that adults should be able to make changes to their body. I also support the option for children to to express a gender they feel comfortable with, however as stated by these persons, we should be aware that there may be reasons other than a benign desire to be the opposite sex, in children who present with what may be symptoms of something else.
Politics should not be driving this argument!

I'm a 57-year old gay man who went through 6 years of what is today called "conversion therapy" with a psychiatrist in the 1990's, then later sued my psychiatrist for malpractice and went on to advocate for bans on conversion therapy - my point is, I have a lot of background on conversion therapies and legal bans to try and end these forms of torture. It breaks my heart to see what is happening today around so-called "gender" identities - predictably, so many who "transition" will eventually also "detransition," and for those who went through hormones and surgeries, their "recovery" will be brutal. "Fortunately" for me, "gay conversion therapy" never involved removing healthy sex organs (although my "therapy" did involve massive doses of psychotropic medications, aversion therapy, and injections of ketamine hydrochloride - so it was still severe). Your guests are brave souls and I wish them well, as I do for all who will need to detransition and suffer through the hell of betrayal and the reality of what was done to their bodies in the name of a cultic ideology.

You are also a brave soul. Thank you for sharing your story. It’s so refreshing to hear open and honest conversations.
Something I have thought about recently growing up in AL. Perhaps social media has played a part, I don’t know, which is why I am asking & commenting. It appears that most people think of this as something new.
I am 64 and grew up around different types of people. There was a large transgender community in the 70’s, along with gays and lesbians. To my knowledge it was accepted, or at least respected. One was a famous hairdresser that everyone loved. There will be people that will always be unaccepting of anyone & everything. I have always believed in letting others be themselves. We can never control other people.
My neighbor is Trans/Gay and he has been open & honest about everything. My heart goes out to him because he said at the age of 8 he knew something was wrong with him. He thought it was because his father worked long hours & didn’t take him fishing. Now in his late sixties, it’s still a battle that he lives with daily. He had major anger issues when he was younger. I find it heartbreaking because he truly doesn’t know why he is this way. I told him that we are all different & maybe there is a chemical imbalance involved, I have no idea. I have several friends in gay/lesbian relationships.
The difference I see now & it infuriates many, are the people that will take anything & cram down others throats. We all have the right to our opinions, yet we are silenced by certain people. My 44 year old son made the comment how older adults are embarrassing & I have to agree. We are shown these types of people as the example to live & think by.
What I find the hardest to wrap my head around is the compliance of what is happening to children by adults. One would think that part of history would never come back with such an evil vengeance. It’s unbelievable that no lessons were learned. We were all taught as children to respect our elders & older people because of their wisdom. I know there are still good people, but the reality of long term damage that has been inflicted on children has to be the sickest of all. Some claim to be offended by the smallest thing, yet turns from this & may encourage it. Now is the time to make a plan to protect them and teach them that all adults cannot be trusted, especially those who have more authority than others. I’m sure most parents don’t want to speak about certain subjects, but sugarcoating this life can be dangerous for them.
Many Blessings to the ones that are speaking out.

Well that's only partly true and nothing is that black and white. Over 98% of trans people do never regret transitioning, in the contrary. Thank you giving detransitioners a place to express their voice. I’m getting my masters in psychology and was sexually abused myself. I have always thought that there are deep psychological issues behind most, if not all, trans people. They need to be treated as a whole person, including their psyche. They need to heal and have love and acceptance for that child who was abused somehow. There are all sorts of abuses that happen to people that they might not ever identify as abuse, or adverse events that affect them deeply. I am 53 and just started major therapy for how I grew up. Only then did I dissolved ways that I was affected that caused me to be a certain personality and to have certain issues that I thought was just how I was born. Once I learned that I could heal and that the negative aspects of my thoughts and personality, and find peace, and discover who I naturally am….. my life changed significantly. I have finally found peace. I wish that for these people too. I wish I could give them a hug and tell them they can be ok.

This is a very touchy subject but I will give it a go. A lot of the trans community struggle with their sexuality and are usually gay. Could that be a mental health issue in itself? Being gay and the struggle that comes with it. Or is it sexuality issues mixed with trauma and maybe other issues such as autism.

I remember a neighborhood little girl that was totally neglected by her single mom. This little girl would come outside, hair not combed, clothes dirty, and try playing with my friend and me. We were in our early 20's; she was about 6 years old. She'd always try hanging out with us constantly annoy us, interrupting our conversations and basically unwittingly be a pain in the butt. There were times that we interact with her by chasing her or have her chase us. She was a rough one. She once slipped and fell while playing with us. We laughed and really, really upset her. She chased us around trying her best to get revenge. She really felt she could beat us. Anyway, one day she came outside in a dress and pair of shiny shoes and just like a little rough kid, she began chasing us around as if she had on sneakers and jeans. It was then my friend and I decided to compliment, (rather than tease her like we'd usually do), her and tell her how nice she looked. Could you believe it was almost instant that she began behaving like a little girl? She literally walked cute, and let her little shoes make the clicking noise as she walked around us. Over time, we'd fill her with compliments every time she'd come outside. She ate it up. Looking back, I realized how neglected she was and of course, how much she needed to be validated, properly. Such a pivotal moment.

I am very grateful for your bravery and boldness. I'm surprised you haven't been cancelled for telling the truth. Back in 2011, when I was working at a public school in a special education classroom, a 7 year old boy with autism was encouraged by his parents, and supported by the teachers and speech pathologist, to let him begin to transition to a girl. I spoke up vehemently that it was very questionable if not wrong to allow this before puberty without any investigation. While discussing the issue in the staff lunchroom, one teacher argued that giving hormones to the child would take care of any potential problems, another teacher told me she saw a youtube video of a 3 year old that insisted he was a girl and still another told me to watch an Oprah segment about the issue but the "autism piece" did cause question. (Well YA!) I was aghast that intelligent professionals could not see the obvious. When I challenged them on providing data on the success rate of using hormone therapy, I hypothesized that there could not even be any data! Then they left the room, leaving me alone with the school psychologist. I laughed and told the school psychologist, "Well, I guess I didn't make any friends. " and she replied, "Gail, it's never wrong to ask for data". I'll never forget that.

All those "intelligent professionals [who] could not see the obvious" have in fact no formation or training in science, and rely purely on their limited sphere of personal education and information." They're "intelligent" in that limited domain of school education and administration. But that does not give them the science and the expertise of evaluating the biological issues in hormonal treatments to change gender. Being good and knowledgeable at something in one field does not extend to being good and adept in other fields where they have no training or experience. But the illusion is still there, and almost universal. It is a bias of our brain of thinking that what we know well, limited and personal as it is, is all there's to it when in fact we're dealing with radically different issues.

I believe some parents, who have underage children that say they want to transition, would rather NOT take their children to a competent psychiatrist/psychologist, to get their children the help they need, because this would mean that the dirty family laundry would be aired. Also, the family would need to work, as a whole, and each family member individually, on supporting the mental health of the child. It can lead to a lot of money, a lot of heart ache, and a lot of work. Some parents would rather an “easy” fix, so to speak.

I raced motorcycles in the '90's and was always very supportive to the few women in the sport, and helped where I could. I like women that are into "extreme sports", like hiking, biking, kayaking, working on cars etc. Kinda like Megyn herself. What happens when a perfectly normal girl, like Megyn, is told at 5 years old that she is really a boy because she likes "boy things", and that is drilled into her over and over. She is told to wear boy clothes, and do boy things (which she would anyway) and that she can change into a boy (Oh boy! How cool!) Now we just ruined the life of what could have been a very happy, sucessful woman (like Megyn), destroyed any chance for children, or a normal sex life, and created a lifetime of medical issues. Not to mention a 40% chance of suicide. It is criminal, evil, and disgusting, and I won't bow to any of the BS. Ten years ago, if you were TRULY gender dysphoric, and wanted to transition, you had to live life as the opposite sex for a year or more, go through therapy, and then (maybe) you would start to take hormones and transition, if it was TRULY the issue, and you had feelings of being in the wrong body from a young age. Now if a girl picks up a toy truck or likes to roughhouse it is drilled into her that she is a boy, and she can get hormones to be a boy, and no, we don't have to tell your parents. Completely insane.

Wow good thing this stuff wasn't going on when I was a girl. Most of my friends were boys, I like to play with Hot Wheels cars and other boys toys; I didn't play with dolls. I still certainly felt like a girl, i was happy to dress girly and frilly for fancy occasions but day to day, I'd wear jeans and shorts and not pay a lot of attention to my looks.
I think it was honestly a healthy thing I was having fun, doing things I enjoyed being friends with boys as well as girls.

It's interesting how the group that insists that gender is nothing but a construct is also the same group that goes, he's four & wants to wear a dress! Must be a girl!! She likes playing football, must be a boy!! The "logic" there is impossible to decipher...

I am a girly girl and I go hiking everyday (even on my day off) as I am a Conservation Biologist, I literally get dirty for work.
I am a country girl so I was pretty much raised rock climbing and jumping into creeks getting my own food from the wild. I also stand up for myself and don't take crap from no one but here's my point, I also love wearing dresses, sowing, cooking and musical theatre!
Just because I look girly doesn't mean I have no experience with adverse situations and I can't put on some boots get dirty and go hiking.

Interviews like this are so needed. Especially at the times we are living in.This
Is a wake up call to what is happening in our school system. Small children should not in any degree be taught about sexual activity / body parts etc.
Parents have to take a stand on the appalling mess that is infiltrating in to our children’s minds, by perverse people.

A thought provoking show! All I can say it sad to see our kids being deliberately confused. Why is this happening? My heart breaks for all those who are so confused and plagued by this issue. Whatever their gender is at birth, they are special. Hopefully, someday, we all can learn to love one another.

Very educational, fascinating episode. I honestly feel badly for people who endure either sexual abuse, mental abuse or just serious unresolved self identity issues. Kudos the show and the guests for shining a laser pointer on the true underlying issues. We have become a society terrified of mental health issues.

All brave and informative guests. Thank you for your courage here as well. The poor kids, and even parents who can be mislead and misinformed even by data not disclosed and treatments withheld. These are big and complex issues. Glad to hear the tide turning in Europe glad to hear some optimism in some of your guests. I pray we can do right by the children.

Walt Heyer’s story is so spot on for the majority of those who are transgender-they experience some sort of trauma/abuse (usually sexual) and because of that, their view of themselves becomes skewed. With this current push to encourage, promote, de-stigmatize transgenderism, and to normalize it, we are pushing serious issues that must be dealt with in order to have a functional, productive life. Moreover, it allows the perpetrators of those atrocities to avoid prosecution since transgenderism is normalized instead of saying this is atypical, abnormal behavior that is often rooted in some sort of abuse or trauma for which we need to evaluate.

As a child I went to my mother and told her my concerns about my gender.♀️♂️ Her explanation was "well now you are a boy. In a last life you were girl. In your next life you could be a girl again" 🎎My mother being a Buddhist normalised what might have been a real problem. Not a cure but for child's mind a plausible explanation ☯️ I am now 👴and very happy to be male
