Sadly Lunden is an example of the type of overly empathetic person who often becomes involved with an addict. The focus of her caring and empathy was solely on Hunter’s struggle with drugs, fearing for his life and very likely readily available to him whenever he needed her. It’s an all-consuming mentality that captures many partners of addicts. She still seems to be caught up in this, giving Hunter what he needs while angling for his attention to their daughter. It seems like she’s still trying to prove herself to him in some way. She is still dreaming of her perfect scenario in which Hunter is an involved, caring father to their child and has a friendly relationship with her. She still wants to be there for him if he needs her. She’s stuck in a fantasy that will keep her from growing and moving on. Zoom calls with Navy should be enough; she needs to distance herself from Hunter and the Bidens because they are toxic people who have been very cruel to her and her daughter. She needs to stop excusing Hunter and his family with her “I don’t know what they’re thinking; that’s up to them”, etc. No one will respect you if you don’t demand respect in the face of open disdain and cruelty. Instead she is passive and just gets what she can. It’s sad. She needs to attend Al-Anon or similar meetings. I hope she experiences a moment of clarity that frees her from this mindset.

You must have never been abandoned by a parent, I hope not. Regardless of how crappy a biological parent is,
there is still this huge desire to know where you come from, why your half siblings were loved and accepted but you were denied.... The best person I have ever known *was* abandoned in a similar way by her biological father when her mother was pregnant.l He did not give her his name or any support. Thankfully she had a lot of Aunties and especially her Mom and grandparents who loved her very much. But she always had this nagging cruel voice telling her somehow she caused it or deserved it.

Loved the interview with Glen Loury. Brought me to tears when he spoke about his wife's book on forgiveness. I could listen to him talk all day. He sounds like a sincere man. Love his honesty about his life and his struggle with faith.

My paternal grandparents were prominent and wealthy people in their time. I am the product of an affair. My last communication from my grandmother was I wasn’t her grandchild and she wouldn’t include me in her will. She didn’t. I’m 46, the childhood hurt or not being acknowledged or included never goes away. Never. As her daughter’s mother, I would urge her to vote for the opposite candidate. You aren’t supporting your child by being nice to the father.

A message to London. I've lived Navy's life. She's at a critical age, and she probably needs someone outside the family to help her through this. I never had that benefit, and the deep sorrow of abandonment took DECADES for me to come to grip with. I didn't understand why my mom left me alone with my dad. Kids can't wrap this complex set of emotions around their heads on their own.

Good point! Throughout the years of learning Joe Biden being such a liar and callus human I have often wondered if his first wife’s accident was truly accidental. When it comes to politicians and power they let nothing stand in their way. Lunden may not know it but she is blessed that she is able to raise her daughter without Hunter. This was one of the most profound, most honest interviews, I have ever seen in my life. This Glenn Loury is so humble , and open that after the confessions that he’s made here and probably in his book too, he’s got to feel “clean.” There are obviously things he’ll never do again. No one is perfect. Would that the rest of us be as honest with just ourselves, let alone in an interview for all the world to see and hear! Things would surely change. Change is gradual, and no amount of pointing out someone else’s faults absolves me, excuses me from the need to deal with my own. This was amazing! God bless you and I thank you both for this time.

1. There are prostitutes and drugs in the Swedish embassy
2. Lundon worked for Hunter and they had a year long relationship (but he had the nerve to deny knowing her)
3. Hunter is a raging narcissist who knows how to gaslight. He played that poor girl like a fiddle. His comment of “you’re in love with me and I hurt everyone that loves me” is almost hypnotic, planting that idea, knowing she’s going to try to “save” him, giving him an excuse to mentally abuse her more. It’s like a line from a bad hallmark movie.
Good interview. Very interesting to hear her perspective. I feel like she’s probably a person who thinks she can “rescue” people and he totally took advantage of that. Hopefully she will see the light.
When I watched Piers interview Lunden on his show I thought Lunden was particularly bad at being interviewed. There was so much silence on Lunden's part between answers that the interview was just boring. However, Megyn seemed to really be much better at bringing the story out of Lunden.

Lunden got ensnared by a narcissist. His instant charm, his interest in her, and then ghosting her. The drug addiction is a huge factor but he is a narcissist in my opinion. She needs to detach and find a man worthy of providing love and support for her and her daughter. He will never be the father you want him to. There are good men out there who will love your daughter like she is his own. Hunter is a sperm donor. Period. This can be a good lesson for your daughter. This is how narcissists behave. Don’t get entangled.
