Great walkthrough Philip, thank you for taking the time to go so much in depth. I'm enjoying using this camera more and more.... Got that Freewell set of NDs, almost overwhelming, it would be great if you'd do a video on tips about how to apply these. Thank you!
Thank you! Unfortunately, I had to sell mine (and the filters) so I won't be doing any follow ups. I appreciate the kind words and glad you're enjoying the camera. It's pretty cool
Negative number = more noise. You're reducing the amount of noise reduction that is applied by the camera. For sharpness: negative number = less sharpening. You're reducing the amount of sharpening applied by the camera. Perhaps another way to think about it is negative numbers reduce the strength of "effects" that the camera is applying, thus making the image look more raw, natural, unfiltered, etc.
I’m sure that you could get better results in post, but I guess it depends on what software you’re using. In Resolve, you’d have to figure out the best settings and it will really slow down playback and rendering. So, unless I were really determined to get the best possible image, I’d just use in-camera 👍
Is there any in camera tool that helps to set proper exposure for skin tones? When I'm out I set auto exposure to -0.7EV and that seems to work well but I'm really just guessing most of the time.
This video is criminally underrated.
You did an amazing job at showcasing the limitations of the Pocket Osmo 3
Lol, thank you
Facts. Lmao
Great Vid! I’m going to test the Noise reduction settings for sure
Good breakdown of the Cosmo pocket 3! I also found that the log version plus the rec709 lit from DJI is overkill for lost case scenarios. 👍

good insightful video
A negative Noise Reduction number gives you more noise or less noise? I have always been confused about that.

@@PhillipRPeck thanks for the clarification.
Do you find the noicereduction in the camera is better to use than just adding it postproduction?

I notice a lot of banding too on this camera
Yeah, I don't think the data rate is high enough

I don’t think so. One of the downsides of this camera
You may have noticed that the video is not sharp in full screen ?
