Is there anyway you can monitor the sound when using an external microphone? I would have thought maybe you could use AirPods but that does not seem to work. Maybe there is a connector that goes into the USB C that splits into microphone and headphones but I have not been able to find one.
I don't think you can currently. I tried it using a Rode ai micro and rode wireless go 2 but no sound was coming through. Fingers crossed that is a near future update.
I rely on XLR microphones for my audio setup. To assess sound quality, I use headphones and LED lights connected to both the iRig Pre 2 and iRig Pro Duo. I have to use an FTP app and transfer it that way over WiFi to an FTP server running on a computer nearby. This is actually FASTER if you have an 80mhz wifi channel and DO NOT have a pro model iphone than over the USB cable. Apple artificially limits non-pro models to USB2 (480Mbps) transfer speeds. So you can actually transfer files off non-pro models faster over WiFi (potentially) than via a wired connection.
I’m wondering if the app would work while using a dji om4 gimbal ? I don’t think so as the UI can only be used with the phone in an “upside down” landscape orientation - anybody tried it ?
This app is comprehensive, except it lacks remote and has crashed often enough I can’t use it for anything but testing. It’s crashing on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, usually sometime after 6 minutes of recording (with plenty of extra file storage available).
Hmmm. Interesting. I have only recorded 2 minute clips with it so I haven’t run into those problems but you are not the first to say this so I hope they are noticing these comments.
Don’t know if you are recording to an external source, but I have noticed the iPhone 15PM is pretty fussy about transfer speeds of USB C devices. I’ve personally not found the app to be a problem.
I've tried to like the Blackmagic Camera App, but - (1) it takes over audio and ignores my settings in the Shure MV88+, (2) it won't let me lock shutter angle - I turn on the app and it's suddenly 172 instead of 180, (3) it won't let me lock settings individually (e.g., shutter angle), (4) the settings slider (e.g., exposure compensation) is unresponsive, too narrow, and too close to the other settings on the right side of the phone, which risks triggering something unintentionally. End of rant. I really would love to like it because the UI is so comfortable and smoother. But - bugs, bugs, bugs - not just mine, but as reported on the Blackmagic forum. Confirms my general view that we should never use apps that are less than 2-3 years old.
