QUESTION: how can I set auto focus when I film myself for talking head videos? Where can I find 16-9, I only see 14-9 then 1.89 I have an issue. Indoors-26mm-AF. Its distorted, meaning a fan standing straitup is slightly bended backwards. I don’t have this in the native or FC camera app. Whats up? Frans 😢
Just downloaded the app. First thing I tried was to switch back and forth between the front facing camera and rear facing camera while recording. It looked fine while recording, but when I went to play the videos back, one of camera views was upside down. Whichever camera I start recording with shows up fine, but the camera I switch to always shows up upside down during playback. Have you encountered this problem, and if so, found a solution? Hi, Zdenka. I can’t playback video in the Blackmagic App. Instead, I get a still-shot image of the first frame, but nothing else. Is this a proxy? Do I have to export in order to see the video?

I'm using an iPhone Pro Max with this app and I find indoor footage to be rather noisy. When I use the native camera app or filmic pro 6...its not. Any idea why?
I would have to see the sitting you are using… are you shooting an automatic or manual mode? If you push the ISO a little bit high, then you get a lot of noise.
17:19 I'm not getting any auto-exposure when touching the screen with the ISO button selected. In fact, it doesn't appear to make any difference when you're touching the screen in the video. Is this functionality gone? In a previous version there was an Auto button at the top of the ISO selector. That's gone and I can't seem to get any kind of auto-exposure.
I figured it out! If you have the shutter angle/shutter speed LOCKED, there is no Auto Exposure button in the Exposure Compensation menu. I guess you can't have the app use only ISO to set the exposure? Weird, as most filmmakers want to lock the fps and shutter speed and since we can't adjust the iris, ISO is all that's left. So you either get AE but no way to lock the shutter speed or you have to manually control exposure. And, sorry to burry the lead, another great video explaining everything in a way that even a simpleton like me can understand...almost understand!

Unfortunately, the rec709 it’s only for a preview. You have to convert the files in the post.

Try to check if you have the latest version of the app. Also, some iPhone models might not support this feature.

I would try to update the app. Make sure you have the latest version. Some phones might not support it though.

As I don’t use da Vinci… take three clips with a different colour spaces and then test them.. you will see which one works for you the best

You are very welcome. If you’re just filming yourself, it’s gonna be OK. You don’t have to tap anything. The autofocus is quite good as it is.

Thank you for sharing…. If you see the distortion then you have to select a different lense… there is really nothing much you can do
How to export the video into my gallery after applying the LUT ?
The lot is only for a preview. You have to apply a LUT in the post separately.

What about native 48 mm lens (x2) on iPhone 15 Pro? How to use it? There is a jump from 24mm to 77mm on menu.

I’m glad you found the solution. Apps are a little bit different than working with actual cameras. It took me a little bit to figure out this app too.
