    ❖ Jay Lee is a specialized watercolor artist. JayArt videos are showing how to paint flowers, nature and other techniques on the various tutorials offered.
    New series of watercolor paintings are available for upload every week. Please subscribe for more videos.
    ❖ Classification of paints
    Beginner (Level 1, Level 2)
    Intermediate (Level 3, Level 4)
    Advanced (Level 5, Level 6)
    ❖ Supply List
    Paper : Saunders Waterford (300g/m2), Arches Aquarelle (185g, 300g/m2)
    Paints : Shinhan, Holbein watercolors
    Brushes : Kuretake Waterbrush, Chinese bamboo brushes and watercolor brushes from one dollar store (Cheap one)
    Etc. : Faber-Castell Watercolor Pencils, Uni-ball Micro Deluxe Waterproof Pen, Tachikawa dip pens and AP drawing ink
    ❖ There are many people who ask me which brushes are the preferred brushes to use for beginners.
    My answer to them is that all the brushes are great to use and compliment each other.
    My brushes are not expensive to purchase, they cost around $1-4 USD, some prices may vary on the different brushes used duo to special use of each brush.
    Remember that with each brush you use you will have a different experience and a range of different feeling.
    The important thing is that you and the brush work as one to find the balance between creation and skill.
    The artist's hand is very important in making the painting and to feel the way the water on the brush moves as the brush creates the ultimate master piece.

    i just loved the way how you treat your paper, colors, sketch, brushes, it's just the way you move your hand gives off how much you love painting and how you treat it so softly and lovingly

    I see that a few ladies here are saying they are in their 70’s & just picking up a watercolour brush (Fantastic! 🌼) We are all children at heart and what did we do when we were children? we painted and we would draw pictures ‘but’ most of us were discouraged to continue down the line of art for we are told art is just a part of being a child for us to express ourselves (Which I would say is very important) and that urge to paint and draw never really leaves us. I know several woman whom after their children married and they had time on their hands, they picked up some watercolour brushes & paints and found they re so good at art they now show work in art galleries! It is never too late. Watercolour is beautiful and so inspiring, if you feel like painting then do it. We should all be encouraged to paint and draw from childhood and keep at it through adult life. Happy painting all 🌈🌼🖌

    My goodness - I was confused for so long, and then at the end it all just came together. So nice! Like when you were taking paint off- it seemed so random, but I kept thinking what the purpose was...omg you were making spaces! Goes to show that we shouldn't conclude to anything until we reach the end.

    this may be a dumb question but how wet is your brush when you dab at the paint

    • @jun-nyan3644
      @jun-nyan3644 8 лет назад +12

      I'm not the artist but do have experience with watercolour.
      It looks as if they dip the brush briefly into a jar of water and then shake off the excess before picking up the paint from the pan. The pans also look like they've been wetted before painting. A drop of water really helps soften the paint and make it easy to pick up.
      Usually I just use the water left on my brush after cleaning it of the previous colour to pick up the next.
      I hope that made sense and helped, and feel free to ask if you want any clarifications.

    • @CarissaMcHolmed
      @CarissaMcHolmed 8 лет назад +2

      ahh thank you so much! I've just started trying to watercolor and my paints dont seem to "seep" like everyone else's!

      Carissa McHolme Yea, doing the wet-on-wet (which is where you paint with just water first and then painting on top of that- so wet water and wet paint on top), really helps to dilute the paint and look really cool

    Hace unos días que he visto unos 4 vídeos de acuarela de otras personas, pero recién puedo decir que he visto a un verdadero artista de la acuarela y con esa música de fondo.... Te felicito!...me haz hecho recordar mis clases de acuarela hace varios años atrás y ahora al verte pintar quiero ir ya mismo a comprar las acuarelas y volver a pintar y a vivir algo que realmente me apasiona. Eres un profesional, sabes tratar bien los materiales y crear las sombras en unas pocas pinceladas....no me agrada ver cuando las personas repasan muchas veces sobre la cartulina, porque se maltrata y el efecto tan puro de la acuarela se pierde.

    I am transfixed watching you paint. I think I no longer need to paint. I will spend my time watching you! It is like watching a dance. Each motion of your hand, turn of your wrist, placement of the brush looks intentional. You paint like you know what you're doing. (haha- that is a joke) I would hazard a guess that you started out in calligraphy. Is that correct? If I don't give up on my clumsy arthritic hands after watching you, then I will join/patreon you. Best wishes...

    At the beginning of the video it just looked like an insane person imagining that he is painting with amazing colors and that it turned out beautiful, but I knew what was happening. XD

    I would have preferred a dialogue about what colours to use, why use plain water first (or was it just practice strokes?) Why the different colours were used, and which colours were used. It's a beautiful image, but I don't feel I've learned how to do it? I found the music distracting, and it seems to me, it's watching an artist working, not a lesson in how to do it myself?

      The water is put on first so that the watercolorpaint can easily spread...it is just a technique. I think the artist just wanted to make it colorful, so a lot of different colors were used. But you're right, this is more a watch and imitate sort of thing rather than a lesson.

      Jessica Hothersall if you prefer a dialogue, you can find that as well. Thousands of RUclips watercolor lessons are available. Some subscribers like a variety.

      I find that if you watch the same video several times, you catch the techniques more clearly each time. You can also stop the video as often as you like while you mimic what she is doing. So much of her technique seems to be in her touch and layering.
