I’m 12 and I believe No matter how old are you it’s never late for anything! You can do it and I believe in you! In art there are no mistakes there are only beautiful accidents 💜 art is a way to express your inner emotions and imaginations and I think you can never fail in art. Because it varies in every individual 💜💕 best of luck sir/ma’am!
This seems like such a simple thing, but I always tend to overwork everything to the point it's a uni-color blob. I need to learn to relax and have some patience, stop adding more color while it's wet, stop over working and adding too many colors for shadows while it's wet, and allowing it to dry before I add small details. Graphite is my original medium, then I started dabbling in acrylics, and since those paints are much more stiff, they're easily workable when wet. Watercolors are a whole new ballgame, but so pretty and luminescent that I'm dying to learn control (and to lose control with) them better. Thank you for this!
Why not try oil paints as well, (since most of us have a lot of time on hand at the moment, if you don't then sorry, keep up the good work.) they're a dream to blend with and you can really get into the details, quite like graphite works. If you don't want to, it's ok. Just wanted to share. Stay safe!
Just wanted to thank you so much for teaching me how to paint watercolor flowers in a less “realistic” way but still a very nice stylized way that still captures the beauty of the flowers. I especially love your roses. I used the techniques I learned in this video and your other video how to paint loose watercolor flowers, and I was able to make some art for both of my friends and they loved it! I just made one for my friend for one of her wedding gifts and she said she wanted to cry! It had words from her moms favorite hymn which she also likes as well. Thanks again for sharing how to paint easy and beautiful flowers and helping lift me out of my depression! A part of me died when I couldn’t practice my craft due to moving and remodeling
I’ve always had a creative streak but over the years of going through hard times I’ve just let that and myself wither away doing nothing more than watching pointless videos on my phone. Watching this made me happy in a way I can’t explain.. I think it’s the excitement of finally getting out of this deep rut and rediscovering myself and the real life hobbies that I used to have. Thank you for this 💕
Thank you Shayda for your easy tutorial. I am a beginner and some times I become overwhelmed and I over work my flowers until they are a muddled mess. Watching this gives me confidence in forging ahead to become better in my watercoloring.
I've wanted to paint with watercolors for a long time now, I used to paint when I was younger but sadly anxiety and adult responsabilities took that away from me. I'm starting watercolors again as a part of my therapy as well and this video is going to be really useful! Can't wait to try!

You are totally normal! I have struggled with this as well. I realize it's part of my perfectionistic tendencies. I decided to view everything I paint as practice only. I think we think it's supposed to be a finished work of art. They say that writers have to write at least a million words before they "find their voice". So, I view everything I paint as practice to finding my painting voice. Also, for me, painting is a way I relax. I ask myself, am I enjoying the process? If I'm not I get up and walk away. I even have a little sign on my desk that says "Enjoy the Process!". Hope this helps!
You create magic using simple techniques! A real encouragement to those who are lost in not knowing where to start! You’re one of the best instructors out there!
I wasted my whole quarantine sulking, procrastinating and mindless social media scrolling. It’s 2 weeks until the day I officially begin going to university so I’m making the most of it. I want to at least post one art piece before classes begin. I will try my best to draw this and update the way it turned out. This video is really well made it looks like. Liked and subscribed.
Wow okay, so I drew 3 flowers or plants so far. I like the way the first one came out. It was very simple to draw, I even freestyled the branches and it came out great. The next thing I drew was the flower 🌺. That one didn’t turn out as great probably because of the color and complexity. She even mentioned that she’s using a light pink color but I mistakenly used a very dark pink pencil and the flower is huge because I didn’t like the shape of the petals and I kept expanding and adjusting the edges so it doesn’t look so ugly. After I added the green leaves though, it looked a little better. It’s not so bad overall. I drew two other flowers that split from the same branch and that one is the second best drawing on the canvas so far. I’m looking to make 4-5 more and I will stick to the more simpler designs so I don’t make the same mistake of ugly looking colors and flowers. I can’t wait to see the end product.

Im an absolute beginner, well besides 2 art courses i took in high school...which sadly i find quite useless and i kind of regret it due to it being a dark time mentally in my life and having a horrible art teacher who constantly put me and my work down and made me feel like i was totally worthless and untalented and compared me to other students (there was one project that she drew on top of to show me how to do things "right" there is no such thing as doing art "right" everyones art is different and unique! that was probably the worst moment and i still remember the feeling of worthlessness she made me feel in that moment) which really sucks because since then, i havent really done much art or had much interest, but a few years have now gone by im doing much better mentally and just recently i had a sudden spark of inspiration and been wanting to try doing some art again since i do find art to be very calming and relaxing it helps my anxiety! Watercolour looks so beautiful and free, i really want to try it sometime, and when i get the chance i think i will come back to this video and try out these flowers! Sorry for such a long storytime-ish comment but just thought i would share with you how a little video like this can really make someones day and inspire them! :)

Really good for beginners. I hope most people will be willing to "loosen up" and play with the shapes until their own style and personality begin to show...don't be afraid to save your work so that you'll see your evolution. Be interesting!
Great tutorials! So very helpful for me, being a beginner. Thanks! Also, funny little side note, but you and I both hold our brush or pen the same way.
Thank u so much for the amazing and simple techniques that makes me fall in love with all the flowers in the world you are not just painting you are writing a beautiful poem dear ❤
I’ve always been fascinated and love water color art, so I’m giving it a ago and found your videos, super helpful, super cute, thank you for amazing content.
Made the whole thing along with you, wasn't as perfect as yours and I was also using a watercolor pen so some difficulty in controlling the colours. But overall a great afternoon spent doing this piece. Thanks a lot for this great tutorial!
Hi Shayda, loving these tutorials! Can you recommend an inexpensive brush set for beginners? Don’t want to spend too much in case this hobby doesn’t pan out but the brushes I currently have aren’t cutting it.
This was a great video. It helped me get started with the basic patterns and shapes that you can see in flowers/plants so I could begin playing around with different types of flowers and shapes that they're made up of to create something beautiful
No entiendo ni la mitad de lo que dices, pero me has conquistado con este tutorial. Ya tienes una seguidora más, y espero poder poner en práctica más de un consejo. Gracias ;)
Thanks for this amazing video! You helped me get a A+ on art I used to have a bad reputation with my art teacher She used to hate me and my work But when u started to watch your videos I got better And my art teacher even got me to participate in s project It was a big project where you get a traditional painting and repaint it But it's not only paint You need to draw Take mesures Paint Repaint Use some super glue to stick some gold and silver expensive stuff on it And use some very expensive stuff on the painting And lemme tell you My countries traditional paintings and clothes are very hard to make Since if you mess up just a little bit It's gone But thankfully I made a very big painting And even got another one and I have to design on a hat! Now they are put in school when you enter it you find all kinds of things And all of my work is put right up front !
I was wondering that too but I think that the main brush could possibly be a 2 and the small one for the details 0? They go down to 000 . Hopefully Shayda will reply but in any case brush sizes can vary according to the make.
Those are the most beautiful flowers! I did not realize what watercolor can really do. I absolutely love the colors you used. Thank you for sharing! Just got a gift of watercolor brush pens and I am starting from the very start so I may try to see how they work on your tutorial!

Watercolour looks so beautiful and free, i really want to try it sometime, and when i get the chance i think i will come back to this video and try out these flowers! I cant wait to explore your channel and watch you do some more art! Sorry for such a long storytime-ish comment but just thought i would share with you how a little video like this can really make someones day and inspire them! :)
I agree. Lovely!
3:13 this flower is so PRETTYYYY i love the color!!
Wish to try it soon. Havent been painting for a long time. Looks like an easy and heart warming restart to me. Thank you
Wonderful! Have fun :)
After 30 yrs of painting in acrylics you have inspired me to try watercolor. No perfection for me as a beginner. You show me it is possible. Thank you
You can do it!
Your art is definitely improving these last few months and I'm living for it!!
♥️ Never stop doing these videos, I enjoy trying to learn. Although we have little to no spare money for the courses, but will still be a faithful follower of yours on RUclips. Thank you for all the time and dedication you put into these videos. ❤️
You are so lovely, Marie!
You are so nice. ❤️
This is unbelievably beautiful!!! I would love to have this in my room!
The most beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen!!
Yes! Twins!
Absolutely stunning paintings! Who’s here to find inspiration to do for self-isolation? #wecanbeatcoronavirus
We are all in this together and we'll get through it! Greetings from Sofia, Bulgaria! :)

Coming later this month! ❤️
Clicked on this video and the intro ALONE was so captivating, simple and made me feel like I could achieve the flowers. Love it 💕
No one’s talking ‘bout how convincing her voice is. 💓

Welcome to the channel!
Thanks for this amazing video!
You helped me get a A+ on art
I used to have a bad reputation with my art teacher
She used to hate me and my work
But when u started to watch your videos
I got better
And my art teacher even got me to participate in s project
It was a big project where you get a traditional painting and repaint it
But it's not only paint
You need to draw
Take mesures
Paint
Repaint
Use some super glue to stick some gold and silver expensive stuff on it
And use some very expensive stuff on the painting
And lemme tell you
My countries traditional paintings and clothes are very hard to make
Since if you mess up just a little bit
It's gone
But thankfully I made a very big painting
And even got another one and I have to design on a hat!
Now they are put in school when you enter it you find all kinds of things
And all of my work is put right up front !
Congrats! That sounds so fun
@@ShaydaCampbell thx!
It was fun but tiring
But I pulled through (I even had a whole 10 hours of art class-)
I spent most of this video thinking "that doesn't look like a flower" and then ten seconds later thinking "oh. Oh i see. Oh that's cute!"
Haha....You are adorable😂
Haha 😂
ruclips.net/video/0DMTZeS319w/видео.html 👈 here's such a beautiful floral painting 🎨🥰
Its beautiful, Can you share the size of the brush and detail on brush?
I was wondering that too but I think that the main brush could possibly be a 2 and the small one for the details 0? They go down to 000 . Hopefully Shayda will reply but in any case brush sizes can vary according to the make.
I love your artistic style! Minimalism is my favorite.
Thankyou Shayda these beautiful flowers helped me alot in making my floral painting good.
Those are the most beautiful flowers! I did not realize what watercolor can really do. I absolutely love the colors you used. Thank you for sharing! Just got a gift of watercolor brush pens and I am starting from the very start so I may try to see how they work on your tutorial!
I just loved this tutorial, so easy makes me feel like a true artist and I loved the end result. Thank you for these tutorials Shayda!
This was sooo helpful. I'm 11 and have not taken any art class or anything and it's my first time painting with watercolours so thank you!
MY BEDROOM WALL IS FULL OF FLOWERS NOW.
These are beautiful! I’ve been doing lot of plant studies for a series I’m working on, and this is making me want to add more flowers in!
These flowers are so aesthetic yet so easy to make. Love this tutorial

Thank you so much for this, I've been struggling where to start to paint flowers, this video is a very good inspiration.
These are beautiful. You make it look easy. Love how you make using the brush like using a pencil.
Thank you! Cheers!
I can smell these flowers while you are painting💚
