Isn't it amazing how we all see art so differently? I was blown away as I watched you bring a stingray to life, out of a beautiful bubbly background! And I loved the background you threw away, I would have added some more color to it somehow, it was so pretty. I think the way you made a tree out of the last picture is so creative! Next time you play with bubbles you'll have even more fun! 😊

I did this together with the small kids when my youngest son, born in July, had his birthday party. It was so much fun, because I was breeding American Bulldogs then and so I had 14 puppies aged 5 weeks when we had the birthday party in the garden. We had colorful bubbles and food color all over the garden. The kids and the dogs were having so much fun making and playing with the fancy bubbles. This really turned my garden into a wonderful fantasy world. 😍

Ahh the photo of the bubbles with all the paint settled in the intersections between them is so cool. I especially love the areas where there are tiny bubbles in front, in sharp focus, & then a bigger bubble, out of focus, behind them, so that it’s just a vacancy looming in the background. Bubbles en masse create such an orderly chaos, a pseudo-fractal, & when you add the gradient of the dark paint all settling to one side it makes for quite a fascinating pattern.

Loved this and loved the ones you doodled and stamped on. To get the larger bubbles, put your solution in a deeper cup, blow and allow your bubbles to drop to the paper without scooping them. You can also raise your straw up into the bubbles you have in the cup and blow more air into them thus making them larger. We did this at an art retreat I went to in July. So fun and pretty.

I prefer you talking (w/ just a bit of music for the fill-in times). You have a beautiful, calming voice & your struggles w/ words only make you human!
I like following along, as if we were crafting together, hearing what you’re thinking as you work & why you add this or that or what you do or don’t like. Otherwise it’s just a tutorial. I like learning who you are as an artist.
I watched this cause I mainly do cards, so am always looking for new ways to color paper for die cuts. That blue/teal is perfect for butterflies or dragonflies.
However, seeing you doodling (something I’m not good at), made me think I might try to use these techniques to do a journal cover if I make one again. You trying something new on your own, makes me want to branch out again.

I think the one with weed stamp is the most beautiful. Try some
other very delicate florals, add some Gold or Silver ink or paint to the, they make beautiful abstracts. Never through out your "mistakes", keep them, look at them by turning them around, or adding abstract marks in Gold or Silver, if you still don't like them, punch out shapes or cut out shapes and on the back write an Art Prompt. That's a color pallet to try at another time, just write the colors on the back, or make marks that you like such as squares, circles, dots etc. to use in an abstract or one of your paintings.
Hope this helps and encourages you to never throw away your " mistakes" you could also cut or tear them up for collage.
    Happy painting!😊🎨

Sometime soon I'll have to try this. The results look really cool!!
I had seen another tutorial, where someone used the cut-off top of a plastic bottle. They pulled an old sock over the wider end (the cut edge) and secured it with an elastic band. This sock was then dipped into a coffee and dish soap mix (they used coffee to dye their paper), but of course colored paint would surely work as well. Then they carefully blew through the bottle's nozzle, and from the soaked sock would come the bubbles, which could be placed onto the paper directly from this bottle-sock-construction. Depending on how much dish soap was used and how fast/strong they blew into the bottle, the bubbles were larger or smaller. That might be a useful technique especially if you use a larger piece of paper and don't want to scoop the bubbles, but be able to create them right on the paper. I haven't tried it yet, but seeing this video reminded me of bubbles and paint. I think, with either technique, the results are beautiful and definitely look like lots of fun making! 🤩

This is very useful for creating reptile skin patterns, for example in dragon or fantastical illustrations, and of course realistic portraits as well (I am thinking iguana skin)

You made some lovely papers using your own version of the technique, I've seen it done the other way when you colour the bubbles in the bowl then push the paper down onto it... I think the density of colour needs to be quite strong... But I've never tried it myself so I'm not sure! I love the branches one and the adding of silver to the ray was gorgeous 🤣🤣💕
