You should check out the album redburns by standing on the corner. Jasper is a part of the group that made the album and its gotta be my favorite merger of avant garde hiphop, jazz , lofi indie, and spoken word. Beautiful scrapbook of an album comprised of two 30 minute “tracks”. think you would like
i was slightly disappointed when this album first came out, i didnt entirely get it… and what finally did it for me was the live show a couple weeks ago. Ive never seen someone blurring the line of performance and reality, audience and performer, spontaneity and preparedness, effortlessly weaving together old and new material, creating a wholly new ethos… just stunning. It completely blew my socks off and it finally made me understand what the album and the whole of slauson malone as a project is about. Go see them if you can, best show ive ever been to hands down
Hey Professor, just wanted to point out that in the album cover the is a very feint reverse male gender sign, or some similar symbol, that you may have missed. It is quite hard to see. Anyways, love your videos and I’m super excited for the future Zappa video!
AVAA, i gotta say, another great one like always. I would love to see a review of faith is a rock by mike, wiki and the alchemist, one if my favs from the year
avaa, incredible video as always. before the year closes out, i think a gem that has gone quite under the radar in general has been To My Mother by Valeriey which is one of my personal fav albums of the year. an incredible mixture of rnb, pop, dance, soul, hip-hop, noise & ambience showcasing this astounding 18 year old’s talent and i think you would really enjoy it! let me know what you think if you listen and keep making hour long videos for me to get put onto new music :) im smashing the like bucket as much as i can
Professor, I believe the Grateful Dead show you’re referring to is 3/29/1990 Nassau Coliseum. It is my favourite Grateful Dead show no doubt. Branford also played with them on 12/31/1990 and 12/10/1993. AATA
Hello Professor I really really am I fan of your work and I just love the way you articulate your message intercontextuality in music. I came out with an album with my collaborator Jewel$ from the X called Phantoms it would mean the world if I can hear your thoughts on the project. Thank you for always improving and inspiring my analysis for music and fellow artists in my class
Slauson malone is part of standing on the corner and standing on the cot ser executive produced prophet Thaddeus’ album extended PLAY 1. 2nd best album of the year best by sampha I think
Avaaaaaa. Skye, off topic, but could you do a video explaining why you hate Eric Clapton so much? I share the sentiment and id love to hear you going ing depth about it lol. im sure you must have some interesting stuff to say about that
I've tried to watch the 400 blows like three times in the past because i always heard it's one of "the best films of all time" and could never finish it but i was like 21 last time i tried and that was 7 years ago, gonna retry bc of this, thank you
Maybe listen to Frank ocean endless or blonde just because we’ll never get a new album. Very glad you went back to slauson Edit: they were realised within 24 hours of each other…. Maybe you would find the contrast interesting.
i saw this guy open for king krule and it came off as extremely pretentious and self indulgent. no one was really vibing with it, and hes also a nepo baby
I have seen his live performances on RUclips and I get that sentiment, however, in the studio, in the recorded format, in the album format of listening experience, I think it works so so so much

Red Burns is a special piece of art
I saw them live. This dude wasn’t in the show but I found that group to be extremely pretentious and self indulgent live.
@@Thimasehrenwhy is that ?
@@plahhhhon their wikipedia page apparently it says jasper separated from the group very shortly after red burns was released ☹️
Avaa. Try a Quiet Farwell 2016-2018 by Slausone Malone. A mind bending take on hip hop

omg thank you so much for reviewing this, this is my favourite album of the year!!!! u are the best fr! avaa
The track "I Hear a New World" that you talk about 13 minutes into the video is actually a cover of a song from 1960 by Joe Meek. Worth checking out

I saw them live in Dallas last year. It's one of the most memorable shows I've ever seen. They're something else live.

that dog is unusually still.
he went to my college and i saw him sometimes and didnt really know him thats it
on the climate change note, AQF has more of a pointed apocalyptic theme and i felt in transfer over some to this one

I’ve spoken about it once in a Patreon video. I try to stay positive on the channel, but he challenges me!
H R giger!
No sound 😬
Beside that AVAA, I'm sure
you’re a bit early, RUclips doesn’t process audio instantly upon upload. come back now, audio is working for me
