29:14 the riff that has unknown authorship in the end of Ktulu is actually a classical motif called the “Dies Irae”. It was used as a chant during funerals in the 13th century and it is now associated heavily with death. So it was most likely Cliff who brought it to the band.
It's not really the same thing cause Dies Irae is F E F D while the riff sounds like D C D A (not 100% sure cause I'm not that good at recognizing notes) but it could still be inspired by that anyway
@@joseoscarhernandezromero1420 yeah the distance between the notes is still the same, but usually when the dies irae is referenced in soundtracks or songs it's straight forward
5:11 Just want to put it out there that if you go on the band’s catalog of songs and go to anesthesia it is called an instrumental, but not to live is to die.
Megadeth now use Silent Scorn as the end of their shows. They play Holy Wars last and when they're getting off stage, the original recording of Silent Scorn plays as the night ends. I saw them recently (best experience of my life btw) and they closed with this and I was like "Wtf is this that's beautiful". And I looked up their set a couple of days later and I found out that it's Silent Scorn
I remember an interview with James, where he was referring to longer load and reload tracks (particularly outlaw torn and fixxxer if i remember it correctly) as "instrumentals with lyrics"
Not even ten minutes into the video and I love the content! Keep it up! One small side note though, and this is something that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere: regarding the Blackened intro, the rhythm riff playing behind the harmonies (the original one, not the inverted version that made it to the album) is the same as the one that plays behind the harmonies before the solo (this one plays a little faster though) so that may be one exception to the "rule" of the other intros with melodies or pieces that don't repeat through the song! Thank you for keeping up with this in these troubled times! I hope you and yours are doing great! Edit: I knew it, great video!
21:38 Either The Unnamed Feeling or Shoot Me Again. Both of those songs I feel could easily work as instrumentals if changed slightly. Also, I can't believe you didn't mention The Outlaw Torn as a possible Load/ReLoad instrumental! The full version of that song is already pretty much an instrumental!
I started a thread on the Metallica Forums where I considered what song on albums without instrumentals could've been the instrumental! Black Album gets Misery, of course, but if we wanna throw a wild card, I'd go for a medley including the main riff of Of Wolf and Man somewhere. For Load, I'd go The House Jack Built, and Where the Wild Things Are for Reload. A St. Anger medley instrumental would be badass; I'd say the main riff of Purify isn't a bad choice for the body of it, leading into the post-5 minute bridge of Shoot Me Again going into the post-5:25 riff of The Unnamed Feeling, wrapping back to the Purify main riff and outro. Hardwired, we're stripping the lyrics from Am I Savage? because that goddamn pinch harmonic breakdown deserves to be extended. 72 Seasons gets Screaming Su!c!de as it's instrumental.
That part about Dave getting back at the studio with GM/BF’s lyrics is legitimately true and I remember reading it too. I don’t remember the part about it being a planned instrumental though. Edit: In regards to it being played in 1984, it’s entirely possible that it was intended to be on KIMB, same with the other songs from Peace Sells that Dave had written at the time such as Bad Omen, Devil’s Island and My Last Words, and he just couldn’t get them on the album.
I’ve been waiting for longer videos and my prayers have been answered. I appreciate your content and I wish the best for you in Ukraine, stay strong friend 🤘
Marty and Kiko's instrumentals are amazing. John 5 is also one of my favorite instrumental players but he's not related to Megadeth unlike the other two
Have you heard of Carnivore? I've just recently found your channel and am loving it. Back to the question, I ask from the Bass aspect of music. Peter was one of the best and, aside from Cliff Burton, my favorite bassist of all time. Thank you for your wonderful content, hard work and dedication. God bless you and your community
Talking about instru-metal, I hope you could hear to a particular album from a Mexican band called Semefo: Laervarium. Doom-thrash almost entirely instrumental album. How odd is it? Pretty recommended
Guys. I really need help. I remember Andriy talking about Dace Mustaine writting the fast riff after the melodic part in Leper Messiah. I remember him even playing a demo tape. Does anybody else remember this?
‘My Friend Of Misery’ should’ve remained an instrumental. The lyrics transformed it from an awesome Jason tour de force to the first song I can remember worrying that some harm might have come to Het’s balls. It’s a pansy emo song now for emo pansies. I remember feeling the way those lyrics describe when I was in junior high, at about 10..before I had yet to get any real life experience.i am embarrassed to have felt so weak even at age 10.
I would use the intro of manunkind and Halo On Fire and rename it Halo Of Fire and I would fuse if darkness had a son add crown of barbed wire. Crown of barbed wire would be the breakdown the rest would be if darkness would be the rest of the song and it shall be renamed as Restrained Midnight
I would have never said that Megadeth's instrumentals are even slightly note worthy. That's probably the last thing you'd think about when you think of Megadeth.
hi man, sorry for being out of the topic. i didnt watch u for some time, and i just wanted to ask how the things are going rn? do u still live in ukraine? love from poland.
I thought the "epic intros" on 72 Seasons were so long and unnecessary. Like they werendoing it just for the sake of it cause its a "metallica thing" to do
Hello, I'm from the Philippines and I heard you are a Ukrainian. USA armed forces are currently in our country now and they bring in more troops and missiles. Our government seems to provoke China in the South China Sea, a spot that we claim that they also claim. We people don't want war but our government seems wanting to make it happen for some reasons and they encourage the public to fight for our EEZ (which many also think that we can still have a talk with China peacefully). I have a humble question for you who experienced it maybe first hand. Is it worth having a war in your country?
More commercially successful for sure, and I will admit Dave's voice is difficult to tolerate sometimes for me but, when it comes to skillsets regarding musicianship, in no way is Metallica better. Don't forget, much of what made metallica great, was written by Dave. I'd love to hear Kirk hammet play any Megadeth solo. He can't play his own solos. Lol. Sad but true.
Yeah, it’s our longest video to date, and I hope it was worth it. Enjoy watching and like the video if you actually enjoyed it \m/
so glad you are making videos again, please never stop! been a fan for years, fellow metallica and megadeth lover and musician aswell

For the intros
FFWF Intro name: The peace and quiet...
Battery: Coronation
Blackened: Stories of War
TWJYL: Trauma
I made these titles all up.

Considering that Rust in peace riff was yet in Panic, that’s no wonder:)
You can really feel the passion you have for those songs in the way did the video
I think Dave has said that it was meant to be a full song "Conquer or die... Lying in State" but it was too long
If that’s true that kinda confirms some of our speculations about the intros. Thanks for sharing!
M-instrumentals…
Minstrumentals…
Minstrels. They are certainly Minstrels, Andriy.
VERY GOOD JOB AGAIN ANDRIY THANKS FOR ALL AND DONT STOP....
Thank you for doing this great video!! More videos of both bands!
Dialectic chaos totally deserved to be an instrumental
The intro to Orion was a Hammond organ played into a Marshall head out to a Leslie rotating speaker cab.
Yeah, but even Flemming Rasmussen himself told me he didn’t remember how Cliff had done it :)
I mean it's most likely an organ, sounds like the demo but with a lot more effects.
So the Jon Lord/Deep Purple approach, nice

The truth is that good music doesn't really need vocals, vocals are just expected by average listeners.
You could count I know Jack and even Shadow of deth as instrumentals
I always thought of All NightMare Long as a pseudo instrumental. It should have been one.
each time i listen to good mourning/black friday, when the acoustic part ends, all i hear is halo music playing after which more megadeth :)
