This video was amazing! We couldn't find any other information about how to repair our laptop, and this worked perfectly.
Main issue that I have with these Lenovo Elan/Elantech touchpads is that they feel too sticky, feels like rubber. Too much friction on the fingers. Is there any workaround for this? It's particularly bad for games like shooters. My 10 year old laptop did not have touchpad problems whatsoever. So much disappointment for the amount of money they ask for these things.
Saved me from a lot of heartache! Perfectly well done. Thank you!
This video is great! Fixed the touchpad in my A285!! Thank you so much!
I cannot thank you enough for this guide! Thank you thank you thank you!
Useful and to the point. Very well done! Thank you.
This is great, thanks, exactly what I needed!
Worked as well for gen5!
You saved me. Thank you so much!
NB. Contrary to their similarity E530 and E535 trackpads have no screws, they're instead held in with their hinges at the top.
Well done!!!
Had this exact issue come up on my 6th gen - physical touchpad click not working.
Guide was very helpful, but I’m not sure why it’s necessary to entirely remove the cable from all 3 connectors and then unscrew the fingerprint reader. Merely peeling back the black sticker and disconnecting the cable from the touchpad was more than adequate to remove and repair it.
bruh i just broke my actual touchpad with a suction cup thing and right after i clicked on this video i just got so mad that i couldnt find a video about how to fix it so i smash my touchpad and now it popped back in and the click sound is back and works 🗿

My question is what causes this issue in the first place and will you have to keep repairing if the bars move back out of place.

Is the trackpad really glass??? I just bought a second hand X1 carbon gen 4 and the trackpad is worn down similarly like the one on my ideapad 110 115 acl
Which screwdriver are you using BTW?
Would the replacement process be similar to T14 gen 1?
Last screw is jammed ffs
Buy Touchpad?
