    You're right about the radio. I'm not really sure why they put 'em in tractors. I suppose if you're plowing 50 acres and the rows are long and straight and the tractor is pretty much driving itself and you're just guiding it along, you would probably be pretty bored and want to crank out the tunes. But otherwise, I wanna pay attention to my work. (Watch out for that rock!) 😊 Thanks for the walk around! I'm sold, where do I sign! 😃

    Hank, nice walk through. The engine has a cummins license. You can use Cummings parts, if needed, to make engine repairs. The engine also has no computers. The only computer is checking the pressure difference on the soot cooker. The radiator fan is powerful and will clog the screens when brush hogging. I do wish the tires were loaded as standard equipment. Also, the ability to raise and lower the 3pt from the rear would be nice. Get some mud on that Branson.

    I'm not a big fan of the smaller front wheels. Nothing against this brand as many of them are designed this way. I don't like regen either. Again nothing against the brand as many of them have this. Regen is not a necessity it is a political imposition and one that farmers and the rest of us should be fighting. Agree with your review, the Branson seems to be a nice tractor, but they need more time on the market to give a better idea of durability.

    You don't spend hours and hours in a tractor so the radio is not much of a big deal but if you do 14 hour days then you need it lol plus the satellite radio or plug in my phone and stream music or audio books . In our large tractors they even come with a CD player and subwoofers lol . I understand you're working with demo tractors but for those buying tractors (me) and wanting simplicity with no DEF or computers or advanced electronics to deal with the simple solution is to buy older high production number John Deere,International, Ford and some Massey Ferguson tractors. Quick internet search shows what models have issues and what models are bullet proof. For the cost of the Mahindra you had (not sure why it's gone) or the new Branson I can buy 4 to 6 55hp range utility tractors from the 1970's to the mid 1980's era. Might need a little work or might just need a heavy service cycle and they are ready to do a days work. Full disclosure: I have been turning a wrench for about 45 years and have 15 tractors and counting.Plus dozer,backhoe,dump truck etc.Just bought 2 International 140's from the early 60's just for cultivating. Got both for about the same as a 48" cut riding lawn mower.(5200.00).Had to do a little work but overall I am pleased and have the exact tractor for cultivating that I wanted: times 2. Nice channel and I will subscribe.

    • @HamiltonvilleFarm

      I still have the Mahindra. The Branson Regen is not like the competitors. It is passive and if you run it at, say, 2k all the time, the regens will be few and far between. There is no computer on this tractor either. But I agree with you about the older stuff. They just don't make them like they used to. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment. I've been happy with the Branson so far. I'll leave my opinions in other videos as to my likes and dislikes of the tractor.

    • @amossnowdaharleyman9179
      @amossnowdaharleyman9179 4 года назад

      @@HamiltonvilleFarm Pretty sure the branson does have a computer of some type: since it does have a regen mode passive or not. If there is a single sensor on the tractor it "talks" to some type of computer.Easy way to tell: start the tractor then disconnect a battery lead. If it dies there is a computer. Both are nice tractors and come hot weather you're going to love the cab and A/C. Bought a JD 5320 with cab and A/C just for that: too old and can't take the Texas heat anymore.

      @@amossnowdaharleyman9179 Good thing about Branson up to 55HP is that the Emissions works as a stand alone unit. It's almost like a add on they use for the countries that require emission controls. So this allows you just take the DOC off, replace it with a muffler, unplug the data logger and you're ready to go with a perfectly good running tractor like the old ones.
      The engine is fully mechanical so there is no codes or ECU preventing anything to run after you unplug the data logger. Some people will just gut the DOC instead of replacing with a muffler, since the second option requires fabrication.

    I drive semi's for years with and without the new emissions systems and a regen, passive or not, is still a regen and when you have a problem with the emission system, especially the DPF or the DEF pump injector system, it is costly to repair. For reason and that reason alone , I bought the Mahindra. As you know every size of the Mahindra tractors do not have a regen system, which is not true of every other brand even John Deere unless you get the under 25 HP model. Then as for having it with a turbo, turbos are not cheap and using one on the farm with all the dust of what ever, it can get clogged up in the turbo fans and ker plunk ker plooy, another costly repair and I wonder what the warranty will cover for that. My brother had a 2007 Ram 3500 diesel that he bought from a farmer 2 years ago. 4 months later he was buying a new turbo, $5000.00. The cause, the mechanic found quite a collection of dirt that destroyed the fans blades in the turbo. On a big tractor or combine, having a turbo makes sense because they have the filtering system, and they need that extra boost of power. By the way, I am not a troll trying to give ya poop, I'm telling it like it is, which you know it to be right.

      I don't take you as a troll at all. I appreciate your comment. I had a Mahindra 4540 and did a couple hundred videos on it. The only issue I had with it was the fuel pump went out. it was covered under warranty. But that happened with 150 hours on the machine. I wasn't happy about that. I do like the mCRD design, I'm just waiting for what people are saying in the next 5-10 years if it is still holding up. I feel between the Mahindra and the Branson, The Branson is better built. Have a good day. Take care!

      @@HamiltonvilleFarm Here's a couple more tid bits for ya to think about. First, I have a 2015 Ram 1500 with a 3L ecodiesel. The 2nd gen motor, which is what I have, had many problems with the new emission systems, DEF,DPF, EGR and everything else in what the system contains but those are your top 3. Fiat-Chrysler, recalled all the 2 gen 1500's and tried to fix some of the problems with software updates. If that did not work they replaced nearly all of the emission systems which is what happen to my truck a few months back, that is, they saved me 6-7000 dollars because I had no warranty on this. These little diesel motors, including now, Chevy and Ford, have passive regen on their half tons. You don't know how bad the DPF is getting because on the half ton trucks, they don't have a monitor to see if it needs to have a forced regen. Most 3/4 and 1 tons have this capability of forced regen. Bottom line is this. For those little motors to work with the passive regen, it is required that the motor RPM's run high, like on a highway, for some time to burn off the soot in the DPF to prevent the system from failing due to extreme heat. If not the DPF will get clogged and if the computer on your vehicle, including your tractors who have this system, does not engage the regen your DPF will fully clog and the only way to get it unclogged is to take it to a dealer where they force the regen. Otherwise it will cause the head to warp or crack which happens when the seals leak, because of the extreme temperatures, causing anti-freeze to leak into the head. Which is what almost happened to my truck. So again, unless I was running a combine or heavy tractor, I would not consider any small tractor that comes with this new emission system. Now what I am saying may not happen to you, but to the next guy that buys it after you are done with it, it may very well happen to them. Either way, it will happen. The Branson maybe made beefer, maybe, but that beefy build is not the engine. And as you know, you can have a great build of a tractor but it ain't worth a can of beef stew if the motor fails...

    In my opinion and we all have that right to express our opinion. Kubota is way overpriced and overrated. To many buy Kubota just to make folks think they have limitless funds. I worked at a Kubota Dealer and have seen the poor workmanship first hand. Cases cracked gears stripped clean and etc. I have heard of Branson tractors and I love the features you get for 1/4th the cost of Kubota.

      Good thing about Branson, up to 50 HP, is that the Emission system is a addon after the fact. So you can just take the DOC off, replace with a muffler, unplug the data logger and you have a old school tractor running perfectly and without emission crap.

      @@HamiltonvilleFarm Indeed! I mean, I understand that we need to save the environment but there are lots of ways to reduce the emissions, why use a system that basically turned perfectly reliable engines, into money pits? I've seen several big rigs and big tractors with the engines getting rebuilt with very low mileage just because of these emission systems.
