A few months back I inquired about replacing a std rt front seat with an 8 way power seat in my 23 RST, I checked into U TUBE and found a video that walks you through the process of replacement of the seat, video shows a very simple plug and play operation , it even shows where to by the power harness from in case your body harness does not have one, mine did not so I purchased the line, easy install very simple. I then purchased a rt side 8 way power seat that fit years 2019 to 2023 , it came in with damaged covers so I detrimed my original seat and re used the cover on the power one. Install complete, operation of the power worked fine but the heat seats did not function and I had dash codes, took to the dealer after 2 days I was told nothing they can do to correct the problem and advised me to reinstall original seats and bring it back, turns out my 23 has an infotainment center for a radio, this is basically a computer and with this seat it does not read the connection with my seat heat, airbag SRS system as well as all my camaras. I went back to U TUBE and reviewed the original video, seems that about 1 month ago the original maker of the video found that you cannot swap seats with a refreshed 22.5 to 24 model year, so all this work and money was spent and thrown away. I write this in hope of preventing someone else from going through the same as I did. There is another person who swapped out a 22 for a power 22 and he also is having an air bag problem that they cannot clear, heads up guys. Photos for reference.

@@MikeBMW I have installed an echo master tow mirror system in the K2 trucks. Those are pretty much plug and play.
I think GM's logic for drivers side seat power going to the passenger side fuse panel and vice versa, is to use less harnesses. IIRC, the drivers side panel is mostly for added options /RPOS that would require additional, non-base level harnesses and the passenger side is the primary one. So it's more likely you may have just the one drivers side connection on that right side harness and never anything on the drivers side fuse panel.
I just purchased a 24 and it has a power driver seat but manual passenger seat is the wiring similar on the 24? Great video by the way.
Wiring is different for 2023+ trucks (and 2022.5 refreshed 1500)..

Had a customer use my bypass harness for the driver seat successfully it had to buy the side controls and plastic since GM changed the connectors. Do you already have the new seats in hand? Phil, I just picked up a 21 2500hd LT, and I have a dummy jump seat. From what I can tell, there is no power going to the jump seat. Only has the rear air duct. I’d like to add a power drivers seat and a full console. I found the harness on the website for the seat, but since I don’t see any power coming into the jump seat, what would I need for the center console conversion? I’m also in Texas so if you’re not impossibly far away I’d gladly let you take a look at it or do a video if you desired
I have a 2020 trailboss custom and I’m looking into swapping out my interior cloth seats for leather seats. Your video has been really helpful, is this the same process for the driver side? If so do you have a harness for it available? Also looking into swapping the jump seat for a center console, I’ve seen videos and some forums talking about the usb not working, do you have a harness for that as well?
This does not work on a 23, i have done the swap added the power harness from you and it does not function correctly, the seat moves as it should but the SRS system, the heated seat function, and even my camaras do not work, dealer told me to put the original seat back in my truck, the infotainment system is a computer and monitors all functions, must have correct seat and harness to work, they are NOT plug and play for all options
Question I have a 20 rst with leather seat heated if I add the cooling button would it work of course after reprogramming the bcm
Phil, could you just swap a passenger power seat base to existing passenger seat? Don’t want to discard the entire interior on brand New RST.
Never take a seat apart to that extent so unsure.

the truck has power adjust mirrors only, not extend or fold in .

I just started installing the passenger seat harness in my 2021 Sierra 1500. The harness I received from you has a ground wire similar to the red and pink. Where does it connect? Also there is a lug that appears as if it needs to be attached with a bolt. Where does this attach? Thank you in advance.
@@patrickhavel1210 - lift the carpet. There is ground lug on the frame where the seat harness uses. Use that same lug. If you have any questions, use the website to reach out.

Phil do you know which pins/wires are for the heating on the cloth seat you took out? I am going to be buying a driver side heated cloth seat to put in my 20 TBoss work truck. Thinking I might try and find the ground and power for heating and run seperatly to relay/ aftermarket switch. Be nice have some power options and heat for an old tired back in the winter.

Is there anyway to add the ventilation function? I bought high country seats to swap into my LT and I’m gonna be buying the harness you made for Driver and Passenger seats but I don’t believe I heard anything for the Ventilation function?
Not at this time. I am in the same boat. My truck came with factory heated cloth seats and while I retained heat, did not gained cool. Looking like this will require some form of BCM/HVAC Module custom programming. Which is a work in progress with no ETA.
I need a how to video like this for a 2000 gmc sierra seats upgrading to 2005 front seats.

Physically? Maybe it fits. Wiring? No. The wiring architecture is completely different the 19-22 and the refresh+ 2022.5+ trucks.
My #12 fuse did not have any power to the battery side. #14 & 22 did not have power either. I had to run a jumper from F10 power side to F14 power side .I also did a jump seat to console swap at the same time and my truck didn't have the wiring harness for the console run to the under seat location. Phill do you have a harness so that I can get USB & 12v to my console. It is a 2020 Sierra 3500 HD SLE

They are different. Don't have a harness designed ready for the HD boards that flip down.
On 12:35, how do you remove the wire from the blue case?
I’m doing the exact same denali seat swap on my 21 silverado. What do you plan on doing with the jump seat since it’s cloth. And do you plan on installing the cooling function.
Cooling function - yes.. but this requires custom BCM programming and waiting for www.WhiteAutoandMedia.com to release that again. Plan to keep jump seat for now as it'll go back when it comes time to trade it out.
Hey I have a 22 silverado I swapped factory leather seats into. Heat and power all works but I get a service SRS code. Any solutions or thoughts on that? Thanks a bunch!
In all the swaps I have dont, i have not gotten an aribag light. Have you tried clearing it with an OBD tool to clear it? The only other instance is when a customer brought me his 2021 truck but bough 2023 seats.
Yeah I swung by the dealership and we cleared it quick but came right back. Have a invalid data from BCM and invalid data from auto occupant sensing module.
Won’t it be easy just to buy a new harness that has the power seat option and just plug and play I just got high country seats for mine and my passger one can’t bolt bc they won’t move due to that
No. Swapping seat harnesses can introduce new airbag lights. So in swaps like these, we look for what is missing and add those circuits in the gain the features that are missing.

Not at this time. Currently in Research and Development phase for that right now.
