    I’ve owned 3 Tacoma’s a sport and two off-road, I don’t tow or go off-road and I recently bought a Ridgeline and I can’t believe how much nicer the Ridgeline is to drive every day.

      I was a ridgeline hater for a long time until I realized the payload on these is more than a Tacoma, they have a great V6 with VTEC, they’re infinitely more comfortable and roomy inside, and if you want a Tacoma specced this nice it’s another 7-10k

    • @AlowisciousMahoney
      @AlowisciousMahoney 2 месяца назад +3

      Similar for me. I owned a Tacoma and now a Ridgeline. In most everyday driving aspects the Ridgeline is way, way nicer to drive in just about every way. If I were getting off-road more these days I’d still go with the Tacoma, but I’m not.

      Same here. I had three Tacoma’s from 1995 to 2019. Sold my last Taco and bought a 2009 Ridgeline and will never go back.
      The Ridgeline is so much roomier and rides so much better than any Tacoma.

    I made fun of these till I drove one. Not fake at all. Does everything extremely nice. It’s all the the truck most of us want but drives like a car.

    I just purchased a 2024 Ridgeline RTL. I needed a commute vehicle with towing capability and space for a toolbox. I work maintenance between a few different places, so being able to purchase a truck that drives like a car was very helpful.

    Bought the 2023 RTL-E after settling on my dream Tacoma. Made the mistake of checking out the Ridgeline...it beats every other mid-size truck for every day use. It tows enough, is efficient enough, and is rugged enough....but, it rides awesome, it's in trunk bed is cool...but, the RTL-E has an in-bed speaker!!!!!! Power rear window. Oh, it was also way cheaper than a tech comparable Tacoma...like, not even close.

    Boy Ben you've really been pumping out the reviews! Great as always. I'm biased as I got a 2023 RTL-E about 3 months ago. Really nice vehicle that provides truck-like capabilities yet gets car-like mpg (25mpg average for me) and rides extremely well.

    • @jg8263
      @jg8263 13 дней назад

      @@trl1980 Spot on, I routinely point out to folks that 5k is more weight than: a 2 horse trailer (with 2 riding ponies in it), a camper up to about 23-25 feet depending on features, a 21-25 foot fishing boat, a 20 ft aluminum trailer with 4 atvs on it, or a 16ft enclosed u-haul trailer. It is more than the towing (and payload) capacity of old S10s and 90s Rangers that nobody criticized for their capabilities. The trouble is that people don't know how much they tow.
      In my case, I have an 18ft coleman camper (2700lbs empty and 3800lbs if loaded to the max), a 21 ft Lund Pro V boat (4300lbs with the outboard I have on it and fully loaded with gear and gas), an 8ft utility trailer with max combined weight of 3000lbs. Truthfully, I could get by with a Maverick awd, but I like the roominess of the Honda, hence being on my 3rd one, coming from half tons my whole life.

  • @Real_Pablo
    @Real_Pablo 3 месяца назад +3

    Love my 2023. You should see the looks I get when I pull up to the show grounds pulling my daughter's little 2 horse trailer. So many people just have no idea the capability of these things.

      Even just a 1" lift with an improved approach angle by modifying the front bumper would do wonders IMO. This would most likely get me out of my driveway, which gets plowed-in during the winters here. Could do this for the Trailsport version - similar to what the Ford did on their Mavrick Tremor package.

    I just bought a 2020 Ridgeline and I could't be more happy. I prefer to keep eco off so my mileage isn't the best but that's just how I like it. I feel pretty amazing every time I load groceries into the sub-bed. If I have one compalaint it's that 5000 lbs is a little light for the towing capacity. It tows my camper fine, but a lot of campers are in the 6 -7K range these days so a bit higher would be nice. Also some people say they want it to be more offroad capable, but unless you're rock crawling moab this truck will get you through just about anything you can throw at it. Also it's a Honda!

    Just purchased a brand New 2024 Black Edition Ridgeline and yes I waited for a Black one. I really can't understand the other colors . A Black Edition should only be Black. Anyway the Honda Ridgeline is an awesome Truck . This is my Third one and I love them. I kept my 2012 Ridgeline RTL because it has been such an awesome vehicle. It just went over 300,000 miles and it runs just like when it was new. It's unbelievable.
    Also the reason the Honda Ridgeline has a better price is because Honda doesn't have to pay union wages and benefits.

      It's a tough choice. I had the same issue. Was cross shopping the Tacoma (3rd gen) and Ridgeline. Went with the Ridgeline. What ultimately swayed me was the availability and the deals. You can get the Ridgeline for below MSRP and Honda tends to have better financing. Happy with it so far. Meets all my needs. • @reignfire85
    @reignfire85 4 месяца назад

    Ridgeline may indeed get snide comments, but it does everything most trucks do and is very comfortable, so either the driver needs the payload/towing of a full-size or they just don't like the look (assuming that off-road antics aren't needed, in which case the Ridgeline is probably a bad idea). One thing I'm unsure of is the button setup for selecting between drive, reverse, etc. I rented a car with a knob shifter and it was very jarring, and I'd much prefer a more traditional shifter.
    As for pricing, it's anyone's game. Different dealerships will offer different markups and financing and trade-in values. I barely need anything from a truck (crew cab, 4x4, towing receiver for small flatbed trailer) so when I configured both a Frontier and a Colorado, I got sub-40k prices ($36k for Frontier, $34k for Colorado). Of course, the nearby dealerships are either asking markups of at least six grand for the Frontiers or only have Trail Boss trims for the Colorado. I'm keeping the Ridgeline and maybe the Subaru Forrester as alternate options if I can't get a good deal on a pickup.
