Thanks for watching! 😃
I'm finishing my basement right now. Things are so smooth when you edit the process, but the bloopers at the end is reality. Love it.
You were recording the sounds of a father trying to do work while the kids are home. 👍👍
Story of my life! I feel ya!
Love- love- love the ending bloopers 😂😂😂
I am a 71 year old grandmother and I like watching you do all this! I wish I could help!
Thank you for showing turning the electrical off. As a Registered Nurse, you don’t even want to know the stories I’ve experienced taking care of people who didn’t check the electricity before doing things.
And I appreciate that you wear a mask, I’ve got stories about people not wearing masks too but this is a DYI channel, not a gory story channel.
And yes this retired nurse is enjoying her time doing simple home repairs and watching channels like yours🙂
I swear it’s almost getting to the point where I’m looking forward to the bloopers more than the video…😂😂.
That bit…”My back hates me…shut up”…I felt that in my soul - especially as someone with back issues…😁.
Keep up the great work, your videos are great from start to finish. Thanks.
The outtakes had me rolling. “Stop it. Stop dropping screws.” 😂
Thanks for the outtakes. So funny.
Don't know why, but whenever you're working outside and the sound of a car driving by is very relaxing.
I agree, specifically 16:07 was really tranquil for some reason
*you're
@@groom_of_the_stool 🙄
@@groom_of_the_stool Thanks, I'm that emphatic as well.
I enjoy the crinkle of the paper on the insulation 😅
Always appreciate the cuts with cursing at the end. It’s authentic remodeling.
😂
My wife and i watch on our tv. We made popcorn and call it the fixer night on tv 😄.
I have been watching long enough to have traveled those basement steps many times. More head room! Wider spaces! And now a light. How much safer and convenient! Great work!
Looking at your show is encouraging me to get back to my craft. Doll making. It can be fun when you're busy doing what you enjoy.
I gotta say, the bloopers were my favorite part of the entire video😂
Those canless, ultra thin lights are amazing!! I totally understand being excited about having a light there. lol
Nice job! The cut out scenes at the end was hilarious. Especially because I do exactly the same thing. Get mad at the materials, make dumb jokes, and its always a madhouse with the kids. However, no one is filming me so I guess I'm talking to myself. Am I crazy? Yes I am. I am man.
If you don't talk to yourself during a project, are you actually doing the project correctly? 😂
The bloopers, priceless!
Holy Moly .... you might hit 500k subs very very sooon! Thanks again for all these years of vids ... you've done an incredible job and you've kept it going now with more family responsibility. Cheers to your wife tooo and anyone that assists you.
Hey! Thanks so much! I really appreciate it and all of the support that you are consistently giving the channel! 😃
Loving the bloopers…..Reality rules!
I love that you show all of your funstrations at the end. Keep up the awesome videos. They are entertaining and informational.
Gotta do another live stream soon too!
Love the “outtakes “!😂
Best bloopers EVER ! 😆🤣😂❤️❤️🤪
Love the content. FYI, always place the smaller cuts outside of the blade on a table saw and not between the blade and the fence. That helps prevent any kickbacks.
lol he got so excited that there was a templet 😂🤭
Following this series!!!!! Looks like all the weird ceiling and wood paneling is finally gone from ur house
Hey, Love the bloopers at the end, I think its really cool you have an emergency shut off switch for the oil burner located away from the unit. On my HVAC I installed a Sonoff Mini R2 inside the shut off at the HVAC and replaced the toggle with a rocker switch because the R2 took up too much room. With the R2 installed I can still go down and shut it off when service is needed, or I can shut it off remotely from anywhere via voice or app. This works out well as my washable filters are located on the first floor and I can turn off the HVAC by voice, clean the washable filters, replace the filters, turn on the HVAC via voice & reset the WiFi Filter Sensor from CleanAlert via the app.
To add a wall switch to the use of a Sonoff Mini R2, you just need to run a pair of bell wires & connect them to the grey terminals on the R2. The switch will work independently from voice or app as it only senses a change in ground to the logic chip (no voltage). The R2 works on voltages from 3.5v to 120v. 10 amp & WiFi 2.4G controlled by the EWelink app. R2 cost approx. $13.20 when you buy the 5 pack.
That old switch and box is much better then new crap
that is looking awesome! also, the "hello? hello?!" from the little one at the end had me giggling so much.
Great work on this phase, Matt! I enjoyed watching you. You did it right. 👍🏼
I laughed when you joked about your wife finding drywall dust in the house!! I can relate. 🤣
39:03 Nice Emilio reference there!
He finally looked at it. 😂
I heard a child crying "daddy why are you making videos? Play with meeeeeeee" LOL
Just here, loving the bloppers ❤️👌🏻
Good morning, Matt. I’m going to be sad when your house is all finished! If you ever move you should get 3x what you paid. Essentially, it is a new house! Beautiful job as always. 🕯️🕯️.
A drywall rasp might help with adjusting sheets for wonky walls.
I love the outtakes
Wow! That stairwell is like night and day already. I cant wait for the next video!
Matt, Matt, Matt! You are too funny! Thanks for the interesting video!❤❤
Love the bloopers.
The Fixer 👍
Was fully expecting (to be clear, NOT hoping) that piano at the bottom of the steps was going to be employed. Lol
The bloopers 😅😅
Your pup is keeping his eye on you.
Funniest and most relatable bloopers yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD I laughed so damn hard!!!!!!!!!!!!
another nice bit of education and entertainment for my day, thanks lol! just watching you do all these projects meanwhile i'm here like "i would like to build a table and i am daunted"
I love the out takes!!!
Can we just keep the bloopers just in the video?.... lol So entertaining.
You, sir, could get yourself a drywall rasp. An opportunity to get a new tool! Good video! Keep up the good work.
Excellent content. I check for new videos daily. And the outtakes are hilarious! Thank you for making these videos!
Thank you so much for watching!
The bloopers tell me you need some Dunkin. LOL
Great job on the dry wall
You are a great DIY. Nice Koda and kids in the back. 🐕🤩
Famous last words, "they're never going to see that". *snickers* You were punch drunk in those bloopers!!!! Laughed so hard. Even the dog knew. 🧐 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂
The bloopers 😂😂😂
Like the bloopers!
Thanks for posting.
Wow, alot accomplished in this video!
You should create a drop down floor so when you use it like a closet, you have a full floor, but easily lift it for basement access. just a thought lol
The ratio of outtakes/content is steadily increasing, and I am here for it
"Trying to be cool. Huh huh" 😂😂😂😂😂
I used the plastic corners when I did my last renovation. They worked awesome.
Brilliant. Love the out takes ❤
35:30 somebody's gonna be in trouble lol
😂
Looking good!
You are making this house beautiful! Love your show! Keep up the good work…..
Thanks!
Dude - several comments = if you continue to add to the mix bloopers with Don Rickles type banter between you and your wife plus self-deprecating humor, you will have a conscientious viewer for ever🤣. I was hooked on your mellifluous and melodic voice narration of your renovation work like Bob Ross did for me with his painting art videos. So adding the humor is icing on the cake. One request - since you're almost done with your own house renovations, please buy another house and do it again. It's wonderful to see a complete makeover evolve as you have put forth. Continued success and happy holidays and New Year to you, your family and pets. Sincerely.
Thanks for posting
Great video!!!! thanks
you are a very cool diy'er but I think you are a even a lot more fun/coolness off camera, very good vid!
Good morning!!
Thank you very much for uploading this video , it is very helpful. 🤗❤️👍👍
Nice work! 😊 the funny stuff at the end was very entertaining!
I like your pup!
Koda! 😃
Your videos are cool, love the outakes at the end
Speaking of the oil burner-- since you're remodeling your whole house anyway, might as well put in an HVAC.
Your voice is so soothing .. I subscribed and keep watching not to learn just to relax
Watching your electrical work has given me the courage to tackle a few minor wiring jobs around my house. Thanks for the great close-up video shots.
God bless your work beacause you're a hard worker👍👍👍
Nice job
“Me finder”
Great job 👍
Excellent
I’ve been that man trying to find a fault after someone putting drywall up put a screw through the cable
Basement finishing next righttttt?
😂 It's still on the list!
TFS❗️
Great job! Love the work
"look Ma, a HANDLE!"
11:07 I think that you're tacking the staple too tight. You just need to prevent the wire from flopping around and being pinched by drywall. Another advantage of keeping the wire loose, is that you can pull the slack out of the wire if you need a few extra inches at the box, in the future, if the exposed wire is not long enough for a new switch.
Is that an OLD 13" Zenith TV I see on your bench? Wow, I used to work at a Zenith Dealership as a service manager and sold many of those!!
Theres a sufficient amount of levels in this video.
Did you do drywall today babe? 😂😂😂
Potentially dumb question: shouldn't that outlet box be attached to the stud? (I haven't finished watching the video, so you might answer in the video and I just don't know it yet!)
I had a thought for a wider/longer landing, you can make it larger but put it on hinges and add a handle to access the basement. Just a thought.
I'm not sure how much credence you should give to this. But in my drywall learnings on RUclips from professionals and on forums, I've seen multiple times they recommend boards not get pushed together super close, ok to leave 1/8 inch gap - less likely joint tape cracks will occur over time (so they say)
Could you do a tool review? Why you use Ryobi as opposed to the other major brands. What works for you?
Hay Matt, I watch your channel for great ideas of fixing up an older home. I have a question about my windows, they are new but I am finding that this year there seems to be drafts from them and I’m scratching my head as to why. I’m thinking those furry little trims but not sure. Is this something you can do a video on for us diyers lol thanks Ann. My windows are made by Allsco and are double pane, help from cold weather Newfoundland Canada lol
I love the content keep up the great work I appreciate what you do ! would just recommend some eye protection in the basement #safetyfirst
Is strapping on the ceiling always necessary? I might have to remove some old lathe and plaster. Wondering what the easiest way to replace it would be. Thanks.
Talented fella you are buddy.
As a electrician must say you did a bang on job.
As a novice carpenter .......man you got talent.
As a novice drywaller/mudder i watch the vids for advise.....get mudding and taping!
Ooh you are in trouble…. Imitating your wife like that. 😂
😂
You know where to find the extension cables for them halos?
I got some for kitchen which is a drop down ceiling. And I have bracing for the ceiling fan so I was like great I can mount my boxes to this brace but the cable isn’t long enough to put the light where I want it
Thanks for the awesome videos! They give me confidence to tackle similar projects. However, I'm still confused about using the old work box at 22:38. Was there something specific you were working around?
