I had my Cat Converter stolen from my truck.. Sheriff deputy that came to take my report told me that even if Law enforcement catches these thieves in the act, they basically write them a ticket to appear in court and do zero jail time. This is the how crime victims are treated in L.A. County. Criminals get a pass here.

Muffler shop $2499 for catalytic converter but couldn't find one. Smog ref will find a used one for you but you must purchase it no matter what the asking price is! WTF? CA has made it a huge business for theft.
Some are just not available at any price. This is a gigantic problem.
