Dude, he's a world champion with no power and a relatively "meh" aero package. I bet there's days he wishes he could stay home rather than race that car. But he signed on the line and has to see it through. Do I like the occasional whine? No. Do I understand it? Oh yeah. Alonso is a tough cookie, but this has gone on too long.

ya Understand that for starters Hamilton whines when Mercedes messes up, and Vettel complains too much about blue flags and Verstappen's driving. The only reason Alonso is this way is the frustration, knowing he could win titles in a decent car and the fact that he is very ambitious. But he's improven, this year he hasn't complained about the car or engine.
Also, he only had the best car once in Mclaren with Hamilton, but yet then the British team favored the British driver.

Riccardo and Sainz both had problems, if you didn't notice, Vettel had a crash and had no tyres at the end. Leclerc is in a much slower car which had poor tyre wear and K Mag is in a slower car and isn't exactly quick. Not a great race when you think about it.

  • @JoshuaV8

The reason why Vettel didn't got any harsh penalty, was because first lap/turn incidents are taken lightly. Going into the first corner is always messy anyway. That's why drivers don't usually get harsh penalties for running off and joining, cutting corners, hitting others or taking shortcuts like Max did.
But if a someone does the same in mid-race, he is bound to have a harsh penalty. Example: Max 10 sec penalty in China.
When Hamilton cut the corner Russia 2014 and in Mexico 2016 and got away with it but when max did it in the same race in Mexico he got penalized, cuz he did in the middle of the race. And many more examples to find on, So usually first lap or turn are taken lightly with light penalties.
One can also say Vettel lost the downforce behind Hamilton and missed his braking just like Riccardo did in Baku behind Max.

He took the alternative route beacuse youre favorite driver caused a crash, and he wouldve drove right into them if he didnt. How can you even call that a corner cut...
Vettel got away easy today, no problem. But take it and leave.

Agree, this is farcical. Half these guys would have finished in gravel traps back in the old days and the wall even earlier. We don't want to go back to that, so I like the suggestion I saw elsewhere, that the tyre-eating "red zone" they have at Paul Ricard further out towards the wall should be used to pave around the edge of the circuits, so there would be some genuine non-marshall driven penalty for going off.

Jan-Niklas Riezler StILl FaStER tHaN McLaReN HoNdA. So many years all of us were tricked into thinking it was hondas fault all along. Little did we know what a pile of shit that chassis was. But of course,a bad chassis makes the engine look bad,how could we know? Failure after failure, now that they have an engine fitted to a top 3 car yet they don't even make the q2,the masks have started falling. All im sad for though are the poor honda mechanics that took so much shit from everyone and were probably afraid of losing their job, while that whiny bitch alonso is still crying on team radio. 35 mill they paid him to finish last.

Jan-Niklas Riezler Alonso spun on his own. It wasn't the car, it was him being bad this weekend mostly. Vandoorne outperformed him as well. Tells more about Le Mans' level of competitiveness compared to F1 when he can win in there but be so bad in F1. :D
