Celicly well the main reason why Bottas got ahead of Vettel was because Vettel lost about 3 seconds behind Sainz... Through the whole traffic phase and pitstop phase Vettel lost about 5 seconds... He would have emerged around 6 or 7 seconds behind Hamilton on ultras otherwise and we could have had a tense race from that point... Oh well not meant to be but Ferrari has had awful luck this year

*Vettel's laps 19 to 22: **1:22**.283, **1:22**.279, **1:22**.279, **1:22**.276 - NOBODY in F1 history EVER achieved 4 consecutive lap times within 0.007 s (including 2 IDENTICAL consecutive lap times). Not in a race, in qualifying, practice, testing or even simulation. Also, the laps have a steady improving trend, which is even more incredible! Confirmed: Vettel is NOT a regular F1 driver. :-)*

Ricciardo took a right beating... that p4 was pretty well earned. Not the first time he's been in the wars in Hungary. Lovely move from Vettel in turn 2 on the first lap. :) It wasn't the best race, but certainly not the worst race either, we had to wait a while for a bit of action but I'd say it was worth it. :) Also, Gasly, take a bow, my friend.

Brief review of the 2018 Hungarian GP Race:
    1. As being a Vettel fan and seeing the clash of two 4 wdc driving for their 5th, its the greatest thing in recent history.
    2. Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton for winning the race. You took the pole, you deserved it.
    3. It was heavy raining at my place and signal was cut off from my service provider so I may miss few points.
    4. Max Verstappen's Renault unit seized. Tells me how Honda has worked their ass off with Toro.
    5. It's interesting how Vandoorne's fate turns out. Whenever he tries to prove he's near Alonso's level, even 50% or more of him, Vandoorne's car fucks up. Always.
    6. Vandoorne had gearbox issue, which is made by Mclaren. Renault only supplies the power unit.
    7. Congratulations to all the drivers finishing the race. The position is which you are, many of us only dream of.
    8. Sad time of Leclerc. Two dnfs in two consecutive races I think.
    9. Well Bottas just bottled it up. Involved in two incidents with two great drivers in two consecutive laps.
    10. Vettel was lucky to have survived from a tire puncture after being contacted with Bottas while exiting the turn.
    12. Kimi was fast tbh. Kimi had fastest lap for more than 3 consecutive laps.
    13. I don't know about if Bottas should get a penalty for contacting with Vettel, but with Ricciardo, I think he should have got one.
Edit: Bottas got 10 sec penalty.
    14. Pretty sure if it one of the Ferrari, he would have gotten a penalty. But let's just move on.
    15. I actually wanted Lewis to win cause the HUNGARY curse still lives on 😂. Remember 2016? But being a Vettel fan I don't have any prob with Lewis winning, but I'll still support Vettel.
So summer break is up, take care of yourself ladies and gents.
Best tip for not getting bored? Watch the old races.
    Constructive criticism is accepted!
    See ya after a month!
    Cheers homies 🍻

Sourav Mishra I disagree with the point about Ferrari would have gotten a penalty, because in this case the collision did no harm to vettel, though if vettel would have got damage or anything like that than I would fully understand the decision for a penalty. But in this case there was no harm done, and he got a penalty for the touch with Ricciardo which caused ricciardo to get sidepod damage. But either way an interesting race and a great intense battle for the drivers championship this season.

Heavenly Air, Renault can watch their market collapse due to bad press the coming years if they continue like this. Sticking it to RBR comes in the form of building a better engine than Honda, and letting RB win consistent podiums. After every race, RB is reminded what they've thrown away and Renault could simply flip them off with pride. Right now, RBR is thrashing Renault in the press and Renault deserves it for having built subpar engines for 5 years in a row.

    • @Snaakie83
      @Snaakie83 6 лет назад +21

Hahaha...it surprises me that people still defend Renault...
Sure, their collaboration was very successful in the past. Somehow they start to fuck up and instead of improving they start their own team.
Red Bull transfers a shitload of money for those engines and the past two years most problems with all ‘Renault-engined’ cars are caused by the engine.
Red Bull is a company and not a charity organization...it’s very reasonable to end a partnership when one party fails to deliver.
Their reaction to Red Bull’s decision perfectly resonates their crap attitude and engines.

I don't think it was on purpose however but you'd imagine a professional racing driver would know that these factors result in worse performance (and he also had three laps to get accustomed to the circumstances). I really hope the way he defended and smashing into Ricciardo was a bad judgement call considering he didn't really seem to think to be at fault at the post race interviews I've seen.

Horrible pitstops, Vettel did alright, Raikkonen drove well, but nothing too impressive here. Sad day for Bottas :( That man ain't catching a break any time soon. Yet another engine failure for Max as well, what a shame. If anything, Toro Rosso proved this weekend that the Honda unit can do some work and that it can exceed the Renault unit. Yep. Rosberg actually gave a battle to Lewis, but that was only allowed since other teams weren't nearly as close as they are now. So back from 2014-2017 the chamoionships were decided by Rosberg and Hamilton, nobody else. The team could let them fight freely.
Now? You see Red Bull and Ferrari winning races and on par with Mercedes. What does Mercedes do? They choose a N°1 driver and resort to old Ferrari tactics. Favoring one driver and screwing the second one as the year goes on.
It's disgusting, but Bottas has to stand up and do something about it too. Grow a pair of balls, disobey team orders for one race and drive how you want to drive. Let's see if he can do that.

Glad to see Ferrari at their top form when it comes to strategies or pit stops... Putting Vettel behind Bottas on a hard track to overtake because of a slow pitstop basically cost him the win.

nut Mercedes gave him a shitty strategy where he had to hold back the Ferraris on dead tyres. It's really sad seeing him being treated like a second driver when he really isn't. He has shown that he is hungry for the wins and this year he is breaking out of his teammate's shadow. I'm just waiting for the day where he'll stick it up to him and beat him fair and square.

Atte Markkola Mercedes isn't a team, they're a you do this so you are slow and your teammate wins, we then give you a contract to waste your life. The team has gone to shit since Ross Brawn left, in the Schumacher Rosberg days the team was modest

    • @eventusvantos2770
      @eventusvantos2770 6 лет назад

Aaron Brall not true at all. Look at the last race for example. They let them fight and Bottas had his chance but he failed. So precisly because its a team sport Bottas has to wingman afterwards. He is given chances but he fails. So as the weaker driver you have to do the next best thing to support your team. Besides... We don't see you complaining about Ferrari who do the exact same thing with Sebastian and kimi but worse! Hamilton doesn't ask his team to make Bottas stay in position. Yet that's exactly what vettel asked his Ferrari team.. To not get kimi to pass.... Yet we don't see you complaining about Kimi being vettels wingman you pathetic hypocrite!

It would be nice to see Ricciardo / Verstappen a Hamilton's team mate, as Hamilon has a lot more pace compared to Bottas on most of the circuits. Then I don't think there will be such a big margin between them and would make racing more interesting.
