      You never know how quick the weather will change... 3 minutes after race end there was an incredible shower. If that would came earlier Gasly would be the one with the best tires in the hole field. If you are that far away from the points you just have to go All-in on strategies that no one else run. If you don´t force the luck to come to you you never will get it. And it´s not like they were loosing much in that situation to try it.

I always said to myself and to my friends that unfortunately this was the last race sebastian shown glimpses of his world class driving. Sam Stark Vettel was not a cry baby at all in this incident. Being upset over your own mistake that you take account for is not what everyone means when they say “cry baby”. They mean that the driver moans and complains or mopes and dwells and blames other factors. The way Vettel handled his crash was incredibly professional (regardless of how upset he was on the radio. He was upset about HIS mistake and apologised to the team for it). Vettel has matured significantly since his red bull days. Hamilton is yet to reach that level of maturity even though he may have improved.

      Kimi was near one second per lap slower than Seb when Ferrari told them to swap positions. It was just minimising the risk of them colliding during the fight - Seb would overtake Kimi the following lap.
      It's a different situation with Hamilton and Bottas - Merc had one-two at the moment and Lewis was looking quite afraid of speed when the race restarted. We saw that after one lap he was faster than Bottas, he was the fastest car btw. Fighting teammate in their situation (1-2, damp track) would be dangerous for them - they probably thought it would have ended like Verstappen and Ricciardo in Baku this year. Or like Hamilton and Rosberg in Spain. They had too much to lose, especially when their (Merc's and Hamilton's) greatest rivals (both Ferrari and Vettel) in championships lost a lot of points.
      And the most important thing - both Kimi and Valtteri are 2nd drivers in their teams. If they have to sacrifice themselves for their leader, they will simply do that. It's sad, I would like them to win at least one race this year - Valtteri was extremely unlucky this year (Baku for example), Kimi always needs 'just a bit more' to win a race, to have a pole. At least he looks cool wearing sunglasses at the podium :D

    Red Bull can't get a break it seems. When Max wins or get's a podium, Ricciardo's car bites the dust, or vice versa. Can't wait till they get rid of the Renault engines.

      @kaijansen865 6 лет назад +1

      And hello to Honda engines :D

    • @Blue_Monkey
      @Blue_Monkey 6 лет назад

      Yet Renault doesn't have these problems, nor do other Renault customer teams. I bet its similiar to McLaren using Honda, they run the engine at & over the limits, basically their own fault.

    • @philipph3421
      @philipph3421 6 лет назад

      Blue Monkey but Renault had some bad failures in other races. And also hasn't got a good pace. Neither has Red Bull the power and mclaren f1 team is just a joke (except for the drivers who can't do anything about this), because they are slow, have no power (due to a poor ICE and the car is unstable and failes often.
      So for RedBull it was the right thing to try something with Honda, because all they had with Renault is standstill. And after the split up I bet that they aren't getting the amount of data and advise from Renault that they could've gotten.

    • @Blue_Monkey
      @Blue_Monkey 6 лет назад +2

      Renault bad power? I disagree, they already won races with Red Bull - that they are a few PS down, I could imagine, but it can't be that much ...
      Red Bull has more engine failures than other teams using that power train
      McLaren seems to be overrated ; they claim to have best chassis when it is clearly not the case. McLaren is no top team in components other than power train.

    • @philipph3421
      @philipph3421 6 лет назад

      Blue Monkey the output of the electric engines are limited, so redbull is behind in the ICE. Mercedes might have 50% of thermal efficiency and ferrari also is quite up to date in terms of power. But as you see in the Renault team (wich obviously always gets the newest updates) they can't do the pace of Haas. And that's definitely not due to the drivers. I do not say that they are the worst, but surprisingly Renault is kind of behind in the front with RedBull for years and with their own team at least this year. And I think it's not about winning some races for RedBull but about winning the championship. Before the turbo era Renault was Face to Face with the others, but since 2014 things have come closer, but it's not comparable. They are not bad and are getting better, but they haven't accomplished that much with 4 years of development.
      Ferrari was bad up until 2016 also, but they have made progress and I think that is what RedBull is missing with Renault.
      And the deals with Honda is really good in terms of money and support for the team. It'll be exciting next year.
      And mclaren had a really good chassis, but it os the same with Renault as it was with Honda. The packaging is to narrow thus leading to overheating, wich we saw in the tests. So they had to change. The problem is that they were developing the chassis without the engine. So it's not working together with Renault rather than against. But this could get better for next year when RedBull, Toro Rosso and McLaren will have enough time to develop theor cars with their engine manufacturers. I believe that it will get really close on the top.

    A brief review of 2018 German GP:
    1. Starting off the main thing,
    Vettel won on Lewis's turf and vice versa happened today. Lewis retired in Austria and Seb in Germany. So it's even. Fair and square
    2. Dry/wet climate and track condition proved Merc performed well and infact better than its arch rival Ferrari.
    3. Mclaren seems downgrading faster than Williams. And look at Alonso.
    4. Idk what was happening with Vandoorne the whole weekend.
    5. Leclerc lost his contract with Ferrari. Haha just kiddin, it's a rookie mistake of throttling quicker than required in a wet condition.
    6. I gotta applaud Sirotkin. He did perform well and his quali press was very good and he replied maturely.
    7. Vettel apparently became Toto Wolff when he crashed. He smased the steering too many times. Hope that she is fine.
    8. I wish everyone in this world had same luck as Lewis. And great recovery drive. Impressed.
    9. Bottas and Merc relationship some how seems off. I mean Bottas had to apologize James Allison just after having wheel to wheel racing with Lewis. And Bottas was told not to fight.
    10.Congratulations to all the drivers to finished in the points and the race.
    11. Lewis apparently should have been given a penalty for cutting the pit and going to track. Yes if he cut the pit at the entry point, its fair for not getting a penalty, but at the last moment?
    12. RBR fans celebrating Vettel crash was bit devastating to watch live. They should remember Vettel is arguably the last champion of RBR
    Thank you and have a nice day fellas.
    Constructive criticism is accepted.
    But make a valid point.
    Looking forward to Hungary.

      Sourav Mishra do you think Sirotkin will ever score points this season?

      No, he didn't enter the pit and did not gain time. In fact he lost time. Fair IMO.

    This was the race which broke Vettel. Never been the same driver since. Shows how much this sport commands your mental strength, its not about skill or physical strength so much.

    Mercedes predicting that it will rain only on half of the track and putting Lewis on the ultrasofts was kind of genius ngl
