      At the end the crash was not so influent on the result. Without it, Hamilton would have been behind Bottas, maybe behind Kimi (able to overtake at next corner ?). Later during the race, I'm sure both Ferrari would have been struggling with tires, but it would have been with no consequences thanks to the safety car. So yeah... I regret that contact too, but it haven't really changed the race to my opinion. That finish with the 4 (5 with Ricciardo ?) cars was awesome to me too. I was really wondering if Vettel was going to overtake... and his overtake was pure gold, like the one in Austria. For the moment, 2018 season is way better than expected I guess

    Ignoring his mistake at the start, this is one of Kimi's greatest races of the turbo hybrid era. Sensational overtakes on the Red Bulls, amazing race pace and a tenacity that highlighted his great strength at wheel to wheel racing. The race itself is also brilliant, probably Vettel's best Ferrari win.

    • @BruceLee-ky7qz

      Has to be a top 3 race from him in the hybrid turbo era. Literally vintage Kimi Raikkonen we saw in his McLaren days and the first stint at Ferrari. Excellent racecraft,patiently taking his opportunity and those overtakes as you say sensational but also incredibly fair and clean which more or less debunks Christian Horner’s saying “you can’t overtake at corpse” 3 years later

    • @colonelarmfeldt8572
      @colonelarmfeldt8572 Год назад +15

      @@chanchaniceman Christian Horner never claimed you can't overtake at Copse. He said you can't "stick a wheel up the inside of Copse," meaning going for a half hearted, desperate, manoeuvre without any forward plan. Although Kimi actually backed out of overtaking Max here, you could see overtaking at Copse between Hamilton and Leclerc this year.

      Why did Kimi get 10s tho? We can cleary see that something was wrong with the front-right break tire, it's not like he did it on purpose.
      I don't watch f1, but i'm seeing some clip recently, the Fia is really bad. Like max being world champ in 2021, he shouldn't have been world champ (at least not with that race). Or Vettel getting a 5s penalty loosing pole to hamilton... Or in this clip, Fia punished Kimi too much, like.. it should be neutral... if that's the sport, I don't like it and I won't see it. And unfortunatelly it seems so

      @@PolPingo Ok, yes the FIA makes a lot of mistakes, that's sort of the 1 thing you got right. Max deserved 2021 because overall he was the best driver in a competitive car, although Lewis did deserve to win that race. Not sure which 5s penalty on Vettel you're talking about, so obviously can't comment on that.
      Somewhat agree, I would've given Kimi a 5s penalty, although I can see the argument for a 10s penalty being tough but fair. He was in the wrong and caused a collision which would've ruined Lewis' race had he not been lucky with the safety car. 10s should be if the driver was being reckless, although the context if ruining Lewis' race which shouldn't have an influence, probably played a role. It was the argument people used back then to justify it as well.

    5:46 THIS IS THE F1 I WANT TO SEE !! 4 drivers close together, battling for 1st place ! But it's so rare... usually gaps are huge and 1st place has it own race in front. We need drivers more close each other and more overtaking without a need of SC on track.
    - Also when you drop to last place but after few laps you are back in top 5 and you finish 2nd. What are the rest of drivers/teams for? Visual purposes? Don't get me wrong, comebacks are always nice to see but cmon, top 3 teams can just pass every other cars too easly like they were a different cathegory. They are not even defending just letting them pass cus 0 chance. Please fix F1.
    - Someone goes out of track even if he's 100m aways from the track - safety car. They remove the car during the next 3 laps but SC is on for 10 laps, really? They are using SC too often for no reasons.
    - Races with only 1 or 2 pitstops + no fuel refill. Pitstops can sometimes change everything, we need more pitstops.

      1. Only reason this happened is because of double safety car.
      2. They are with 2019 regulations.
      3. I didn't expect there to be a safety car either, it's way out of the track for a safety car to be deployed.
      4. First you want drivers close to each other fighting for positions and then you want more pit stops? Wtf? Pit stops increase the gap by a lot, there wouldn't be as much a race with more pit stops.

    • @allesklarklaus147
      @allesklarklaus147 5 лет назад +8

      This is basically just all bullshit.. sorry nothing personal. If you have 3 teams putting in 3-4 times the money into developement they are going to have better cars indeed. And who cares about the rest of the field anyway. We had more pitstops just a few seasons ago btw. And we had refueling stops, 4 stops for tire changes and so on which they changed so Michael Schumacher and Ferrari didn't just win everything anymore.

      Not necessarily because sometimes it even helps to undercut or overcut someone and he has to fight back. Pitstops and team strategies where they have to react fast to some events are making it more interesting and unpredictable. Especially when someone has changed to fresh tires and can start an epic chase. Now with 1-2 pitstops they are not close together anyway so more pitstops won't make any difference in this matter.
