In any case, it was a racing incident, you can't blame either of them. And the commentators didn't either, they just stated what happened not who was to blame. Even if the 'puncture' actually happened, it still isn't anyone's fault. "That's racing".

    • @mgecko2959
      @mgecko2959 6 лет назад +128

People laughed at Honda because McLaren was blaming them for everything and since they were only supplying engines to MCL they couldn't afford to piss them off and comment back. When they signed with STR they revealed that their engine could have been much more reliable and much faster on the straight if only McLaren would drop some unneeded downforce and make small changes to the chassis to accommodate slightly different radiators. But McLaren of course refused all that and then claimed they are slow because Honda is lacking power.
This year Honda is proving they have no problems fighting with other power units in mid pack and STR is as competitive with them as they were with Renault if not more. For me it seems like McLaren is trying to win championship in best chassis category since they don't manufacture their own engine and they will keep blaming whoever they will be taking engines from. They had that superb Merc power unit in 2014 and finished behind Merc and Williams, only slightly in front of Force India, then Honda, now Renault only Ferrari left. Its a great team with great possibilities but is managed by some sort of retards.

I feel really sorry for Honda, I can't understand why the absurd fanaticism of some people doesn't let them see that McLaren was pretty much the only one to blame during the three years with Honda. This year, even being more flexible doesn't help McLaren. So, with this in mind, I don't think we are too mistaken if we think that Honda, in a few months with Toro Rosso has gotten more than Renault, with all the data and even a teamwork, in years. Renault and McLaren sell smoke as never happened before in F1. RB wouldn't be wrong if they move to Honda.

So yeah, I'm adamant that Daniel is the better driver for the foreseeable future.

PSN GT3 Club I respectfully disagree. RBR could and should be leading constructors by now. Verstappen lost them around 80 points and that would be enough to put them ahead of Merc and Ferrari in standings for now. Also points lost by RBR were gained by Ferrari and Mercedes on many occasions. Let me list how much points they lost due to driver errors, bad luck or reliability.
Australia - Max spins out could finish P4 maybe P3 even and Daniel same if he wasn't idiotically penalized. Total points lost anywhere from 2 to 6.
Bahrain - Max crashes in quali and in race where having much more pace at that stage than Hamilton, Daniel also have DNF with electrical problem. Points lost at least 27 for P3 and P4 which was easily reachable.
China - should be 1 and 2 obviously. They finished in 1 and 5, Lost 8 points at least.
Baku - should be 4th and 5th was double DNF. Points lost - 22.
      Monaco - should be 1st and 2nd was 1st and 9th. Points lost - 16
That's anywhere from 75 to 80 points minimum that they lost this season and not because they were slower or had worse strategy, it was all luck or drivers errors. Add that 75-80 points to their total now and they are already in front of Merc and Ferrari, also in places like China, Baku or Monaco Ferrari and Merc gained extra points on them mistakes, so just what RBR lost is not what they would have over opposition. In China Bottas, Hamilton and Raikkonen all should finish one position lower, in Baku Raikkonen also gained 2 positions thanks to RBR colliding with each other. Same in Monaco, Vettel gained 3 points, same Hamilton, Bottas and Kimi gained both 2 points more and all because Verstappen crashed in FP3
Now looking at last two races they are definitely the best team pace wise. Today 27 points collectively to Ferrari's 33 and Mercedes 28. Last race they should got 43 to Ferrari 23 and Mercedes 22. Ended up with 27 against Ferrari 28 and Mercedes 27. And its not like Canada is a circuit suiting RBR so I would say they are still in the fight for sure and if they didn't lost as many points we would be talking completely different story today with them leading. So don't count them out just yet, I know its a long shot and with lacking straight line speed they are in the worst position to overtake directly on the track other two teams but they are still strongest strategically and have really good package

HirAjEm PMPL Mercs lost to Ferrari in Melbourn under VSC. Ferrari lost to Mercs in Baku under SC. Mercs and Ferrari's both lost in China under wrong SC timing, which gifted RBR win.
Ferrari and Mercs didn't lost any by there own cause or reliability. But RBR did with both, crashtappen mistakes and reliability.
I still believe overall Ferrari has the best car. It has top speed to match Mercs and chassis to match RBR. But to be honest, its mighty close.
Montreal was the good demonstration of 3 teams, 6 drivers, taking all 6 places. Next I'm looking forward to Silverstone.

HirAjEm PMPL You are already relying on multiple disasters for both Merc & Ferrari just to get back into the fight. The drivers champ. is already down to HAM & VET, the constructers champ. is down to Mercedes & Ferrari. I dont understand why ur listing all the point u "should" of had, look at the standins NOW, RB is out of it for 2018.

I sat watching this next to my car in a gridlocked carpark field after an event … and there was more excitement from the cars in the field than in that race.
Although got to love Grosjan - "Did you see what Ocon did to me" …. overtook you? slowed for the corner? didn't use his physic powers to guess you were pitting?
