Nier raid in FFXIV and some new additions to the Nier remake that came out today reminded us of how many loose threads we still have (Accord, the watchers, etc.) and I'm so down for another game in this universe. Not necessarily a Nier one. More like Drakengard 4 I guess? Just with less awful gameplay lol.
@@sleepysera There is the upcoming Nier Reincarnation mobile game he is directing. And I think in an interview he essentially threw in the towel on making sense of the Drakenier universe and made it to where everything and nothing is canon.
Heck, I think one of the concerts for the Nier Automata soundtrack had a canon explanation for the ending.

@@ChouhouinNeko Might be, but I think they want to wrap the story up nicely, which will take at least the next X-Pack and the one after that, so 14-players grab their next MMO. Depending on how fast they push those out, it might skip 17 to 18. So yeah, its 17 or 18, probably.

I met Yoshi-P at PAX at the FF14 booth, friendliest, coolest, most humble, down to earth guy you could meet, he was met with tons of love from the fans and the people around him lol

i get your point, but as Yoshi P said "Our philosophy in designing FF14 is to be FF first and MMO later" which is why they don't design the game like other MMO. for the input delay there is this thing called server tick because each of the input is sent to the server for package verification and i don't know how they implement it but it cannot be avoided with their current engine.
the input doesn't have delay btw. the delay is in the resp[onse sent from the server to your client. your input is sent directly to the server.
re implenting the overall game with the new engine is the same effort as making new game and it will ruin their development cycle. FF14 is that kind of game that you don't need to keep subbing and grinding the shit out of it. there is a new patch there is a new raid? then come, consume the content, you bored of the dungeon and so good at the game you clear the savage first week and have no interest in all other plethora of content they provide? then unsub, just sub back next patch or expansion you interested in. that's even their recommended way to enjoy the game.

you got a person who excel sheet bathroom break into the workload distribution producing the game and you still expect 7 years? Come back in 2-3 years for the nutshell video IMO.
If the reports are true, it's already been in development for 4 years and will be out sooner than anyone expects. The director of XVI and (I believe) the writer of Heavensward left XIV at a time that would line up if true, and Yoshi-P is good at meeting deadlines and setting reasonable budgets and plans. With him as the head of Creative Business Unit III and producer of XVI, if this has already been in development for 4 years, I don't see it coming it out any later than 2022.
And yes, I know the comment was a joke. I'm just putting this info out there in case you're not aware.

This is so much better than my DMC5 in a nutshell. You must teach me about how to be this good at making just a pancake videos.
Step 1: Make everything important happen off screen
Step 2: Have an entire empire disappear with only a couple sentences of explanation
Step 3: Try to fix the main game after release by adding content to the core story
Step 4: Abandon it and the upcoming DLC's

Ok, this is a very tricky step but the most important one: when something major happen in the setting, NPCs can't be affected in any way. An evil empire take over the capital and we are literally at war? Just keep your NPC routines (quests, dialogues, walking) like nothing is happening. This seems an easy step, but i've seen jRPGs screw this over more than often.
FF 15 is just an obnoxious game. I'm glad a different person is in charge of 16

Man, Dragon's Dogma is such an underrated game. I mean, what other game that lets you to climb dragons or Chimera and stab the living sh*t out of them. Not to mention the class and companion system!

Were Yoshida goes, Soken follows. Rumors say he even has a whole orchestra on speed dial.
I mean, if the XVI is XIV deve team, then Soken and Koji Fox will also be there. So yes, he do have a band on speed dial considering Soken is the head music prducer and Koji is the head of locolization team/lore developement.
(Though now they might have to change the band name to The Eikons)

I didn't know Yoshi-P's the producer for FFXVI. When they revealed the first trailer for the game, my initial thought was the art style and npc faces reminded me of FFXIV. Now I know why. lol
The music is totally Soken's style, so either he is in charge of XVI OST, or they have a really good imitator, and I'm fine with either version.
Took 3 years with no Day 1 patch or DLC, but still pretty accurate

I don't think referring to him like that is exactly accurate to the role he played in either game, but yes, he did work on the combat for both.

Reminder that Yoshida said that if he made another MMO, he'd make it more like FF9/FF11 because he didn't like the fact there was so much technology and Sci-Fi in FFXIV.

Honestly I’m hyped about this game. It really looks like FF5 and FF9 with a DMC/KH battle system! I’m glad they’re going back to their classic roots with XVI and VIIR.

keybladesrus well Tokyo Team was already trying to get a DMC feel with XV so why not get the Actual DMC combat while Tokyo Team does VIIR. In my opinion I think FFXV saved the entire franchise without XV you wouldn’t get these games. I’m really happy I even got chills because in all honesty this is how I imagined FF4/5 and 9 would look like today.

When I saw them add the battle mechanics (DMC 5 and Dragon's Dogma) I was sold. For all of the game's flaws (there are a ton) Dragon's Dogma has some of the best action rpg combat the genre has ever seen imo.

Usually those small DLCs are all unimportant collectables. I'm fine without those like in FFXIV.

I prefer paying another 30 dollar once and have everything rather than having to buy skin, items, stuff, stories etc separately, aka like Ubisoft do for instance. god why.

funny till you realize he helmed an mmo that was built from the ground up in 2.5 years, had a major patch every 3 months and minor patches through out the months. while building the games expansion that came out 2 years, then gave his team a break.

Really wasn't, thats the thing with FFXV the directional use of the music is horrible--despite the music being great, they had no idea when and where to use it for the highest effect...exceptions of course being the battle theme.
All I know about FFXVI is that Yoshi-P is the producer and the Battle Director of DMC5 is also in the team so in my book, I'm sold.

As far as I know, that's not confirmed yet. The trailer music definitely sounded like him, but it's not confirmed, and that still wouldn't necessarily mean he was working on the whole game. Really hope he is, though.
