OMG - it literally makes me sick and she is definitely lying - she’s a spoiled brat who whines to get her way - so gross!
I'm 15 minutes in and this is a clear case of Narcissistic abuse. What they are describing is called reactive abuse. It's where a person pushes another to their breaking point and then claims they are the one who is abused. This woman was a victim of reactive abuse. The daughter is a flying monkey. The husband is the abuser.
Wife one even left her dog behind. Wife two was going to fight him for money. That's the difference. Wife one is a doormat. Wife two wasn't. Seriously, how brainwashed would you have to be to leave behind your dog? That's manipulation on another level.
Wife one was passive and a doormat. Wife two knew she was being abused and stood up for herself. Yet there is so few people who understand what reactive abuse is. It's not usually physical, so many don't recognize it. It's no less insidious. Meaning there was no one she could turn to for help. Even most law enforcement don't understand anything accept outward aggression.
Poor woman was trapped in a nightmare. The only way she was going to get out alive was to leave and leave with absolutely nothing. Just like the first wife had to leave her children and even her dog behind.
Take the second wife for example when the police were called by her. She called for help yet she was the one forced to leave. She wasn't even allowed the time to gather up the things she needed. They just expected her to leave right then without her clothes or personal items. Even though she was the one who called for help. She was the complaint and he's so manipulative that he even manipulated the police. That's not police protocol. When one calls the police they are the complaintant. The other party is supposed to leave and law enforcement is supposed to stay while they gather their things to leave. Not make the complaintant leave without their personal belongings or arrest them for trying to do so.
Sending the photos to his daughter and not to the police is another narcissistic tactic called triangulation.
He obviously wasn't sleeping in the guest room. He only went in there to attack her. He lashed out because of something called public mortification. He's a liar. He lied about an intruder and he's lying now. Searing heat from a scratch on the arm. I've cut myself worse cooking. He stabbed her so hard the knife bent.
He wasn't really bleeding. He had a scratch and she was dying.

48 Hours is grippingly good. It tells the entire story while simultaneously being concise so there's no tedium.
The mother's words in support of her ex-hubby mean nothing, in my opinion. She, out of nowhere, talked about how Sue, after marrying Mike, moved into "our" house and took it over, "acted like it was hers - even got the dog". Wtf else was she supposed to do?? And how would that make her suspect? This family has super weird dynamics. And the daughter does not seem trustworthy either.

If he was attacked that night, and was the victim of ongoing DV, then sadly it is possible, and quite likely. We're not talking about a healthy relationship here. Victims of domestic abuse will lie to the cops, and deflect the blame away from their abuser. They've even been known to get violent with the cops (the ones there to protect them).

Six minutes in and my first impressions are that (A) those two should have divorced before it came to this, (B) something is wrong with the daughter as she's being interviewed, and (C) his lie about the "intruder" to the dispatcher cancels out everything else that he is going to claim about his wife being the aggressor.
Why would a father send his daughter pictures of his so called “injuries”? He was setting the stage for what he had in mind. If I was a man and was injured by a woman I wouldn’t want my children to see that and have them worry and agonize over my “abuse”. The daughter sounds like a real piece of work. She is cut from the same cloth as her dad. Pity me…poor me.. see how abused I am. I don’t pretend to know what went on in this marriage but no one deserves to be attacked like his wife was. I can understand why Sue could not get along with Caroline. She’s a spoiled pretentious brat. I have other words I’d like to use for her, but I’ve already been in trouble with RUclips one too many times for speaking my mind lol…..
Based on her text message and her drinking Sue sounds like a very problematic person, I doubt her recollection of events is true, specifically considering the arterial blood and her timeline. I’m guessing the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

The second story where an immigrant and a military guy quickly become millionaires by owning assisted living facilities is just gross.
Assisted living is hugely expensive; some places are $6,000 per month or more only to pay the caretakers $10/hr.
It’s awful.
Just had to deal with that, until my mother passed in February.

This is almost literally the way my own marriage is playing out. My husband is so nasty. Constantly talking to other women, hateful, cold & uncaring. I'm learning to stop letting him trigger me w/his behavior and attitude toward me. But my replies to him have been almost word for word what Sue's were to Mike.
mike was never abused. and she hated the ex wife because she turned a blind eye to the abuse so she could keep the alimony money he gave her.
I'm older than my husband but I'm an RN, my nursing specialty is hospice. The only difference is, my husband doesn't have money and I thought we were in love.
This is a personality disorder. I can't say which, because I'm not trained to diagnose but it's some kind of cluster b nightmare.
I'm trying to sleep in our guest room tonight but, insomnia and i turned this on and im really glad i did. I dont have anyehere to go no family cant work because of MS and a post covid brain injury that causes near falls and pretty much constant vertigo.
I'm so ashamed of how my life has turned out and what my husband is doing. I'm just now starting to open up about it because im doing my best to somehow find a way out and learn how to live again.
