I owned a commercial refrigeration business in the Caribbean for 20+ yrs. Hot-gas is the ONLY way to go IMHO. It does in 3 minutes what electric (defrost) does in 20. Getting a stand alone, small compressor, system to have enough hot gas is challenging/risky without some sort of re-evaporator & accumulator (I see yours) in place. Kramer has used HG since the 60's.... Excellent video. Thank you. ❤
They are for walk-in boxes that they call cold rooms or clean rooms that are usually in a lab type setting or a controlled environment . Where temp and humidity have to maintain a constant temp without barely any fluctuation in temp
Kenny Baker HVAC/R thanks man. No , there have full discharge pressure coming down the hot gas line. But it is regulated by the electronic hot gas valve . Even if it only lets a little though the pipe at a time it is still just straight discharge gas going into the hot gas line .
Ulises Palacios hey bro , yes it is. Another guy asked me earlier and honestly I’m not exactly sure what it’s for. Hahaha. I gotta find out. I think it had to do with the fact that this compressor has liquid injection installed on it
Very clean job bro I hate all that electronic shit I personally Am old-school I like everything mechanical but I’m like you sometimes the customer wants electronic so we give them electronic It’s too touchy and causes a lot more problems
Inside? Conditioned space?? Working??? Not a bad gig.. how often you do that? Good little change of pace. Wouldn’t wanna do that day in day out. That’s nice but there’s something about the field.. on the road, different places. Different applications. Challenges. We’re like sailors!! “Argh, a different girl in every port!”
Hahahaha. Ya man it’s nice sometimes. I don’t do this often. Of course I work inside as well doing service but this was just getting this stuff done instead of doing it on a roof to help out the install guys so the job gets done quicker . Always a rush on everything Hahahaha . Plus it was 18 degrees out today So I was fine with being inside. Lol
Good stuff 👍. If they want easy changes then a flare set up with isolation ball valves or hand valves would be best in my opinion but there's a million ways to get the same task done. Can you set up sporlan steppers with those controls? Just asking cuz those are quick to change out, just unscrew the top.
randy handle you may be able to use the steppers. These valves are also stepper valves. I k ow the kind you are talking about but haven’t seen them used in these particular systems. We go by the design we are given and what the engineers call for , for these boxes.
Javier Gutierrez I do have a video I did where I installed a new head master and explained a little about it and how it works. It’s on my channel here I made it months ago .
@@Cscrefandhvac Wow that is so cool, very tight setpoints. There is never a day that goes by that I dont love this trade you learn something new everyday. Thanks for the vids brother keep them coming.
heliboy112 thanks man. Yes there is always something to learn. These units will be in clean rooms for pharmaceutical things so the temps have to be perfect
Jacob Scyphers thats actually a good question I’m not totally sure to be honest. Hahahah. I think it has something to do with the fact that these compressors also have liquid injection on them

yes i would like to see the zoom lock in action keep the videos coming man
At least you’re not on a rooftop today. Very interesting job. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man
BOSTON SCIENTIFIC is also another. Good luck with the install and yes I would like a Zoomlock video
I think others would too.
Nice video keep them coming 👍
Day at warehouse, stay warm. Great video
Great video, we have a few system with that hot gas system. See it also on packaged hvac equipment to. 👍
N.W. Ohio HVAC Videos thanks man. Ya we do a lot of systems like this
Just a question do you put in leibert PDX systems in with remote condenser it's for a IT room I have some questions on them thanks for all the videos
james rook jr hvac no man I don’t work on those sorry for that
I hear Zoomlock isn't worth the 3k price tag..what are your thoughts? Would like to see it in action
Can you make more service call videos? Thanks. Great video
Squirtle Hvac yes, I will for sure
You should come on one of our shows. Seem like a cool guy
Maybe a dumb question but I'm starting to get into light comercial...so what excactly are these for...

So interesting... Following this project. Thanks CSC
👍nice clean work.
Thanks for this information, just need more information. About hor gas valve diagrama and how it works in refrigeration
Good stuff Chris
Mike Clark thanks Mike 👍
thx for taking time for videos . question: what kind of pressure are these normally running? like 3 psi of hot gas just to keep temps up or...?
Kenny Baker HVAC/R thanks man. No , there have full discharge pressure coming down the hot gas line. But it is regulated by the electronic hot gas valve . Even if it only lets a little though the pipe at a time it is still just straight discharge gas going into the hot gas line .
Awesome videos brother!
Total Tech thanks man
Nice. Is that a check valve on the suction line between the accumulator and compressor in the beginning of the video.

Is that an Amgen Corp.? Thats one of their most common specs in at the job.
No , not Amgen. I haven’t heard of that place. Hahahah. I’m sure many places use this type of stuff
Thank you, can you please show me that system in details?

Do you have any video show how properly check head master ?? Thanks
Javier Gutierrez I do have a video I did where I installed a new head master and explained a little about it and how it works. It’s on my channel here I made it months ago .
CSC Refrigeration and Hvac thanks man. 👍
I'm a bit afraid of zoomlock, hasn't been around long enough to know how long it lasts. Especially on 410a.
Tylor K I hear you on that. I’m still waiting too see how it will last over time
great video
Thank you very much for sharing this. You do rack system? Possible I can contact you for help?
Quang Nguyen I used to work on rack system. Not anymore though
How tight is the differential on these systems do they have a 1 or 2 F or half a degree before the hot gas opens and closes.
heliboy112 around 1 degree but they keep a tight temp diff . They run like 2/10 of a degree right on the money

That seems complex, if you ask me, a bucket with cold glycol would also do the trick.
Looks a lot easier to install than a 3 way slider valve...let us know how it works out long term
I’ve worked on many of these over the years and they work really well
Helpful bub.
The position of the gas by pass valve matter? I mean the head of the valve can be face down I just wonder
Can't say I've seen check valves on those heatcraft condensers. What's their reasoning there?
Jacob Scyphers thats actually a good question I’m not totally sure to be honest. Hahahah. I think it has something to do with the fact that these compressors also have liquid injection on them
@@Cscrefandhvac very possible. Looks like I need to do some research because now my curiosity is peeked.
Jacob Scyphers yes I need to look into it as well. I’ve seen this before but never thought much of it. I think it’s for the liquid injection though
👍👍👍
Hi..I am from india and want to work abroad to have more knowledge in my field..I have 9 yrs of experience in RAC field. So can someone help me.?
That's to much for a wif or cooler,or anything else
Not sure what you mean ?
