Most of the Enviromental stability chambers I work on utilize a hot gas bypass refrigerant line that has a dedicated solenoid valve. CPR valve always on suction line.
When speaking of regulators for unloading my most common and favorite device was known in the field as an ORI or ORIT. The ORI valve would limit minimum coil saturation pressure by throttling compressor suction flow. Of course, this worked well with the tough old reciprocating Coplemetics which would unload nicely when throttled. This was my fav setup when building integral horsepower dehumidifiers for lumber dry kilns. This was back in the days of R12, R22, etc. We can hardly afford exotic or newer refrigerants because nothing is Freon this planet anymore. I sometimes designed smaller units for R290, but was often stuck with 22 due to local fire regulations and insurance rules here in California. Oddly enough, the last window shaker I bought for an apartment was R290. Go figure.
Thank you for so much for putting out these videos. This is a subject that I needed a tutorial on for a few months now.

What about rawal device for capacity control put these in roof top units to get units running long for dehumidification
Question: predictively, what would happen to a system in Central Florida if a technician removed the hot gas line feature?
You would struggle with dehumidification
Could it cause compressor failure?
@@keithwyland535 as long as you properly delete it so it cant be an oil trap no.
@@HVACTIME Thanks for the help!
Did you use to teach at a tech school in Arkansas? If not I know where your doppelganger is!
