  • From stock daily driver to weekend drag toy, to now, a track-capable wide body concept complete with a full suite of modifications, our 2023 Dodge Hornet GLHS concept came together in a way that exceeded our expectations. From the git-go we knew that making the Hornet more aggressive in the looks department was high on our list, and by taking design cues from the likes of the Dodge Charger and Durango, we were able to accomplish this. We then looked at both the Challenger and Charger wide-bodies which pushed us even further. The finishing touch came by way of the Hornet’s 2.0L turbocharged engine which took us back to past turbo cars like the Dodge Omni GLHS, Shelby Charger and of course, the SRT-4 Neon. With that in mind, we knew our Hornet had to perform as good or better than it looked.
To prove this, we headed out to the Southern California desert, to a little-known racetrack called Apple Valley Speedway, for a full-on track test where the results proved to us that the 2023 Dodge Hornet GT may just be, thanks to Direct Connection and some imagination, one of the best tuning platforms on the market!
We hope you enjoyed “Hornet: A Swarm of One,” presented by Dodge and that it’ll inspire both owners and buyers alike to let their imaginations run wild on one of the coolest compact CUVs on sale today.

Outstanding! Favorite parts - in no particular order - center exhaust, wheels, and flares. I hope Stellantis is listening because even if you don't go all out, selecting some of these parts would be awesome. I wrote this on Instagram - we all need a daily but we all don't want a boring daily. This is the perfect compromise between practical and fun. Just like the Shelby GLHS and Chargers, all the fun without sacrificing a useful daily. Thanks as always, this was fun to follow. ~ Chuck

That's out hope as well. We think once the public get a true sense of how good, and how much fun the Hornet is, they, as well as the aftermarket will start adopting it as a great tuner platform.

Pretty tough to get excited about this vehicle and I have owned numerous Dodge vehicles both new and used. It may appeal to a certain group of enthusiasts but I really do not see a long production future or large selling numbers here. To each his own.

I'm no CUV guy and love my Hemi Charger. I just had to laugh at Dodge for rebranding an Alpha Tonale as a Hornet and said well there goes the brand but we bought one for my wife as her daily. What a fun little ride. It easily beats a Charger or Challenger SXT off the line and has tuning potential to make it a lot quicker. As far as the quality so far so good. Love the series great content and some ideas for our build.

The stock versions of the Hornet, both the GT and R/T are fantastic, and we don't expect the general public to go as far as we did, but this was a really fun "What If" build that shows the hidden potential that the Hornet possesses.

I also work on cars for a living. Pretty easy to judge what's good and what isn't by simple statistics. Congrats, many thousands of dollars later it now looks like a Ford Eco-Sport banana from a distance. I think I'd rather have the Alpha version with as many luxury options as I could afford and satisfy my need for a sporty ride with another vehicle. (and if I couldn't afford a second car at all, I'd consider a motorcycle or (gasp) an electric car for performance). I wasn't at all interested in this Hornet transformation, but Hemmings literally forced it on me every time I was browsing their website for other content. So, I thought, what happened to Musto, the cool Daytona Charger guy who left his Wall Street life to bring us impractical, but way cool, "in your face," classic muscle content? Did he sell-out?
