WORLDS FASTEST NURBURGRING HYPERCAR LAP - EVIJA X
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 21 сен 2024
- A Nurburgring class record!? Evija X is a track version of the all-electric Evija hypercar. While the core of the road going hypercar remained the same (chassis, battery, gearbox, e-motors, drive shafts), new parts were added to meet the requirements of one of the most demanding circuits in the world, pushing the limits and boundaries of the EV hypercar. New parts added include revised carbon body including splitter and wing with DRS, all new suspension dampers, carbon / carbon brakes, wheels and competition tyres.
It was tested on the Nurburgring first in June 2023, then early October, and returned Friday 13 October to see what was achievable. It was a damp day, so we weren’t expecting too much... sighting laps only in the morning and then two pacey laps in the afternoon, hitting a time good enough to class fastest car with a production chassis. We think it has more to give... so watch this space.

That looked so crazy fast, yet over a minute slower than the 919 EVO... holy moly.
With so much more power. Yeah, proper race cars have an edge.
But if you look at the cornering speeds, GT3 race cars, not exactly the fastest ever GT series, are as fast or faster around bends. They just don't have the silly power. They could get the silly power, but race rules.
Yea that tells you just how much you get out of stuff like tires and downforce that's just not legal on road cars.
That thing is F1 level fast and a highly upgraded version of the already ridiculously fast LMP1 Porsche 919 hybrid so it's expected.
Err.. you mean the LMP1 car that's basically an F1 car with a shell?
Rimac Nevera 💪💪💪💪
Imagine what Stefan Bellof did in 1983 with a handshifted Porsche 956 and traffic on the track: 6:11 min. Unbelievable
Stuff of absolute legends! The fact that it still stands in the top 5 after all these years of technological advancements shows how great a machine the 956 really was.
You also have to take into consideration the slightly different location of the start/finish line which was placed on Döttinger Höhe back then.
@nolibtard6023 doesn't mean anything. You can place it wherever you want, the corners and straights still stay the same.

Very cool lotus gave you the honour to exclusively document this. Incredibly impressive especially when fundamentals are shared from the eviya. Watching that lap it looked like it was played at x2 speed.

Yes.
Amazing effort from lotus
great effort from lotus considering its a road car platform with more aero bolted on it
to the ID R there are appr 19 seconds missing. And the aero and underfloor (even the drs) looks like a copy of the VW concept
This just shows how impressive the gt black series, gt2 rs and 992 gt3 rs are. Especially the gt3 rs, with a quarter of the power, it still managed a sub 7. That's not a modified street car, it is a street car. The lotus is still mad impressive though.
Agreed GT3 RS for a road legal car is so wild!
It has 300% more aero than all of the over 7 minute time cars
6:44 with just 500 hp is insane
I'd like to see the Evija on a warm, dry track. The big difference between the Evija and, say, the ID.R is in cornering and braking. The ID.R hit a peak of nearly 3.5g lateral, whereas the Evija - from the on-video display - looks to be peaking at well under 2g in both cornering and braking. I imagine that's a function of (a) the ID.R being a pure racing vehicle, with associated aerodynamics, and of course (b) being substantially lighter.

I have more respect for the driver than the car itself, humans can only get so much better with their reflexes through practice as tthe neurotransmitter speed is chemically limited plus adding the amount of G's he is experiencing in all directions adds to how difficult these records are to accomplish, makes me wonder how much faster can a human piloted car be than this!
True, but this car doesn't even come close to how fast drivers can go when the machinery allows for it so I wouldn't expect this man to be on the edge.
Edit: check the 919 Evo lap if you want to see something really fast.
@Czeslaw_cn4tv yes, I am aware of the 919 evo, that thing is mental!
how about mc murty spierling? also why full electric when you can combustion to replace most the batttery with super capacitor and fuel with electric motor er wheel, allowing max power to weight ratio? electric car is not even best for "environmental" or financial issues compare to lightweight effceint hybrid because combustion fuel is anaerobic bacterial mass that is sustainable unlike battery and solid magnet electric motor (the normal stuff) which cant be fully recycled. let alone as high power machine like this.

Hybrids are fast , because they have the acceleration of an ev with the top end of a petrol motor. That was an heavily modifed WEC car, to be fair. But what a glorious project, to get a car with a "roof" to modern F1 laptimes. Way higher topspeed than Evija X despite tiny battery and hugely less peak power as well.
How much power was left at the end, to go 350 kph? Maybe under 1000 hp? It's even got DRS for crying out loud. I know not a lot of time is won adding 30 kph at top speed, but still...

I imagine it's only good for one lap before it needs charged and cooled again?
To be honest, I find a Mercedes AMG GT Black Series going 20 seconds slower with just over 1/4 the horsepower and street tyres much more impressive. Because it'll do 5 laps in a row and drive you back to the hotel in relative comfort.
You do know any internal combustion car can only do 1 lap before cooling off also? the tyres, brakes, heat soak in all the engine components.

I find modern (race) cars too heavy. A lot of the weight seems to be there for safety...because it's so heavy.
@@Cloxxki For purpose-build modern race cars, yes, it's because of the much higher safety standard. For this particular project...I think it's the battery weight that dragged it down. These boring ass ev cars still can't touch proper race cars (ie combustion engines) around this track

I am not into super cars or hyper cars for that matter but I’ve got to say that an electric car with a “street” body goes that fast even if it doesn’t break the record is amazing, mind boggling. The reason I’m not into these cars is multiple. I will never own one. I will never even rent one. I doubt I’ll ever even get to sit in one. I shouldn’t even say never because I guess you never know what can happen. And I’ll never even have close to enough money to even look at one so why want something I’ll never get? On top of that why lust for something I’ll never have? They are beautiful cars, I will give them that. And the kicker? Even if I had one there’s no place I would even be able to open it up and let the horses run!

Really nice work from Lotus here. This is the kind of cutting edge that racing usually operates in and develops out, with some of what's learned percolating down to consumer cars. With electric cars, I would think there's a lot of room for tweaking since it's nowhere as refined as gasoline cars.
