Great video. I picked up a 99% complete unmolested factory 1977 Ford F150 Ranger XLT 4x4 4-speed with factory air and a vinyl roof with full trim package. it's been sitting for 8 years. With a tune-up kit some fresh fluids and gasoline it fired right up. it has the NP 435 I believe it is transmission bolted onto the 351 m400 engine. 146,000 actual miles. it's so factory stock that I hate to start changing things on it. I'm really enjoying driving it around remembering my youth I was 17 when this came out in 1977. it was actually sold on my birthday how do I know all the original paperwork including the owners manual and warranty card were filled out and in the glove compartment. all I had to do was clean it up and give it a tune-up kit and some new skins for the old Wheels. BTW it's Bullet Green.
Very cool. I'm about to put my Grandad's 73 F350 Dually, dump bed with a 351M back in service. Planning on warming up the 351M a bit. Its great to find out that 5spd mods are this easy!
So a person needs a adaptor and a smaller clutch. I have a 75 with a fe 390 that I heard folks swapping these zf5 speeds. Thanks for informing us that a diesel type won't work.
This might be a dumb suggestion or idea, you should have templates on your website that can be printed out to scale (FedEx/Kinko's) that then can be compared to what people have, or they can compare to what they're looking at... The printed paper copy could then be transferred to cardboard, wood or a more durable piece of plastic, such as high density polyethylene plastic...

Hi. Just wondering what makes the diesel transmission different? (Is it only the starter location?) Thanks for sharing your videos with us!😎
Hey Bob I have one of your FE kits and have mated it to an MT82 2018 mustang box, I have still to install but it looks like it lines up good
Finally! Was looking for a vid describing my transmission. Good video. Thanks.
Thanks, John! Good to hear!

This kit is for the FE engine So you can bolt the ZF5 from a 351W to the FE. We also have kits that allow you to use a Modular transmission as well.

An 11-inch "car" clutch for an FE "big-block" with a light-duty iZF 5-speed OD from a mod- motor pickup for "work trucks".
What an "upgrade".
This also works with the ZF6 and we can provide you with an upgraded clutch if your application is a higher HP motor
ZF does not have a deep first gear. NO GOOD>
