    You are the only RUclipsr that was positive about your working conditions at Amazon. Glad that you are enjoying your job. I was wondering how you handle the bathroom issues (short breaks) and being timed to pee?

    • @nekoneko8378
      @nekoneko8378 3 года назад +5

      just go to the bathroom if you have to go...trust me the work is hard and mindless but they will not terminate you for going to the bathroom even if you have to go 3 - 5 times your shift. that is additional to the breaks you take you
      have a solid excuse. explain that hey i had to go to the bathroom it took 15minutes. 2 minutes to walk there 2minutes to walk back 11minutes to take care of business....it was from 1000 to 1015 that is why i was not at the station doing my task. my stomach hurt. i ate something bad last night. or yeah i took 30min to use the bathroom...2 minutes there and 2min back 26minutes to do my business.....this 2nd scenario you may have to save this 30min one when it really really necessary ok...use good judgement but notate everything so you dont forget and can explain

    Girl! You give me hope. I have cancelled and rescheduled my appointment with Amazon 5 times already. I get nervous thinking this job is going to be hell given the amount of bad reviews. I’m going to suck it up and do my appointment tomorrow. The warehouse is literally four blocks away from my house, hopefully there are bike racks so I don’t have to drive just for four blocks.

      @@Cra2y_M3rmaid Its not bad. The work is easy to learn. The computer or handheld device tells you exactly what to do. The only thing bad is your feet literally hurt. I used to take my shoes off every night and put on my slides. Then a big box by my station so people cant see lmao. It was a 12 hour Thurs Fri Sat shift. but that last week I was crawling up my steps I had to go lol Insurance good.

    Cool seeing how the delivery station runs. Definitely one of the best videos on RUclips I’ve seen from an Amazonian 😂 . Been doing fulfillment a year now. Been a packer and now the commonly hated stow 😟, same concept just have robots bringing the “bins” to us and putting away the items instead of orders. Thurs-Sat 6pm-630am we get 3 breaks but definitely an easy job with benefits once you adjust to the work life.

    Fellow Amazonian here. It's interesting to see how things are done differently at other facilities. Picking at my location is people running around the building with a short cart; we use 2-3 totes at a time and swing by a conveyor to throw them on the line.
    I'm concerned you might lose your job posting pictures inside the building.

    LMFAO, "Pros, you can wear whatever you want. ...that's about it.. LET'S GET INTO CONS BABY". I worked at Amazon in 2012-2013 as a shipper (seasonal position) before the 15 bucks an hour. 10.50 starting pay back then. The job was easy, but oh my LORD - Just because it's easy doesn't make it fun or exciting. You're a damn robot in the system. Your brain is fried after every shift. Doing the same, and I mean THE SAME thing for 10 hours straight does a number on your mental health. Everyone in those warehouses should be making 20 bucks an hour MINIMUM.

Stowers take the packages off the racks, scans them and places them inside their assigned bags. Pickers take the bags to be picked up by the drivers for delivery. Theres a certain amount of bags and oversized packages that get picked with each route. Your handheld will tell you this. I like the tape and information. You came off effectively and REAL. One of my biggest issue is that Amazon:s employment techniques sucks, from on site interview to this part (3?) They are making it harder for people to find a job at Amazon. Not proper address or directions, placewise, very little personal contact and very limited directions on just about averything. Eg: I got this email, I suppose to conduct stage 3, but, when opened, you are asked to view the job site and apply? Confusing!. Amazon, Please be simple, to the point and a phone call goes a Loooong way. So I can’t change the policy, just have to adapt.

    • @ChristinLeRay
      @ChristinLeRay  4 года назад +6

      They have something called “VET” which stands for voluntary extra time and they always post “VET”/available shifts that you can pick up. You can pick up as many shifts as you want & if you get OT you get paid time and a half. Hope this answers your question😊

    • @epicshelter7562

      Things are a lot different since the pandemic. We used to often get MANDATORY overtime (usually 50 hours/week) during Prime and Peak. I don't think I've seen mandatory OT in over a year. If anything, I've seen Voluntary Time Off more often than mandatory in the 2-3 years I've worked in my building. I think Amazon is hiring a surplus of people so it should stay voluntary (if that).

Also what made you push through and how did you end up figuring out how to do the job having such a poor trainer?
