Concrete is rough on feet. Get two pairs of identical pairs that are comfortable. Switch your shoes out each day or every two days to allow the soles to decompress. The last hour or two will always be the roughest starting out. I'll say after a few years you will adapt but it won't go away.

I used to work at UPS for 4 something years as a package handler. Health is definitely priority working this kind of job. What I used to get through my previous job: Vitamins, Protein Powder, and tea/special water.
There are alternatives to using medicine to help with the pain and aches. Could be a certain tea or food you eat and for me that was - Ginger, green tea, fruit juice. (Of course medicine is the fastest way because you don't have to prep any kind of food or drink. But think about what's good for your body.)
Breaks are short and I took advantage of every second of it. That meant bringing everything I needed for the day with me inside my backpack or in a plastic bag. As soon as we went on break, I would sometimes stay inside the half finished truck and make myself a bed to lie down, rest, eat, etc. Otherwise I would learn my "escape locations" and "routes" to take advantage of every second. I took it a step further and timed my restroom breaks to go along right before break starts.
I hope my experience helps. I will be starting Amazon tomorrow hopefully. If you own a car to get to your job, I am working on a project that will probably (hopefully) work that will ensure me to get all those overtime hours. And if it does work I'll share my experience just like this guy in the video.

New balance 1080v11 are truly liking walking on pillows. I’m 5’11 and weigh 340lbs, using these shoes have completely changed the way I feel about my current job which requires standing for more than 8 hours. My feet feel pressure at times, but it went away after taking them off for a few minutes with zero foot pain.

I used to use some cheap Nikes I got off the shelf for like 30% off. Those shoes are what I now use for cleaning outside. Using the new balance 1080’s have completely ruined the way I wear other shoes, I always feel like I’m walking on concrete whenever I put anything else on. When I buy new shoes, I always make sure they offer the same comfort as the NB. I heard ultraboost 20 was pretty good but when I tried on my size, it felt really tight so I never got the chance to test them. BTW, the NB 1080’s Don’t require insoles. Putting insoles in would completely ruin the already good experience. And as a side note, when I first tried them on, they felt really weird to walk in because of the back part that holds the heel in, but it feels completely natural after walking around in them for more than an 1 hour or 2.

Good job on your videos. As a recent "young" retiree at 52 I've been looking into getting a job at Amazon for a mindless, minimum responsibility job to pass the time. From watching all the various "working at Amazon" vlogs and reading comments, it comes across as a combination of reporting to prison (so many people seem apprehensive and nervous about starting work at Amazon) and playing a full NFL season. Are there many old-heads working (45+) at your location?
I worked a warehouse job for two summers while in college. I actually enjoyed it. I don't recall any productivity metrics or anything. I remember it being a perfectly paced job. Busy enough to make the time pass quickly, but not so busy that you felt worked to the bone.

Here is my story. Due to the pandemic I had to move from the Philippines to work somewhere, and that ended up being at Amazon in the USA. Before moving to the Philippines I was 150lbs (at 5'5") and starting to chunk up looking like a mini-Soprano. Living there for 5 years I lost 20 lbs by eating healthy foods (because processed foods are more expensive than organic). I don't work out.
I watched a few of your videos and you have mentioned a few times Amazon is a very physical environment. So I started working at Amazon with a plan to do three protein shakes a day; one before work, one for lunch and the final right before I go to bed. Without any coffee or energy drinks I have survived the first two weeks of outbound pack and water spidering with a 4lb gain in weight, all muscle. I also drink a lot of water in there, the water coolers dispense some pretty good and cold water.
So bring in protein shakes and a clear water bottle (I never got a clear backpack and water bottle yet, so I had to buy myself.) Might as well treat it as a paid 10 hour workout.

A good knee brace that has gel to keep it up is also great. If you're a splitter you stand in one place your whole shift, and not every FC has ergo mats to help lessen the stress it puts on your knees.
Compression arm sleeves are great too for people that end up doing a lot of heavy lifting like it do. Reduces pain and swelling during the shift by increasing blood flow.
Sport socks that give the arch of your foot extra support and the toes and heels extra padding. I like to use socks make for runners.

Wow just subscribed! I just finish my first week and I really enjoyed it. I work at a new FC that opened in July and it doesn’t have robots. The stowers/pickers drive machines to stow and pick product. We are considered a large load warehouse, so that why we don’t have robots. I work in inbound receiving/vendor station and I just take items off the conveyor belt and receive item in and put them in a cage to be stowed. I also work in prep which is my favorite. Rate really doesn’t affect us because of how big boxes come in. As long as they see that you are working you are okay. I am so glad I didn’t listen to what people was saying on RUclips because I wouldn’t have this opportunity. It’s really not hard at all...easy work just repetitive. Also, we have about 3 break rooms for each side of the building so we can have a way to get to breaks and lunch faster. So overall, I love working at my location. I have not one negative thing to say about amazon.

@NFZProductions yeah it is so much negative stuff said about Amazon. They really did take in to consideration for the associate when they built this FC. Everybody is friendly and we help each other out.

@NFZProductions oh and another thing: there are people who transferred to the warehouse where I work because they needed help. What are the rules and crap? like can you even take bathroom breaks? Do you have to clock in at the start? And clock out at the end of the day? And out each break? And how does everyone even clock in on time?

    • @NFZProductions

when you walk in there are clocks to clock in with. you can take bathroom breaks whenever you want. some breaks are paid for, so you dont clock out, but others are not so you have to clock out

@@NFZProductions But do you have to walk all the way to the clocking in and out machines, nearby the entrances? Or can you just use a machine on hand, to clock out? Or are there machines nearby everywhere, for everyone to clock in and out? And do you have to always be on time exactly 15 minute breaks, no longer and no shorter? And same for the 30 minute breaks?

Instead of a insole, i would recommend a full leather boot or shoe sole included. If its made right the leather will conform to your foot. The break in will be a slight hell but once they are broken in oooooo you wont ever need an insole again. Ive never had a more comfortable pair of boots than my whites
