My first day working at the Amazon warehouse & my thoughts three weeks later. If you want to know about the hiring process, orientation, training, pay, uniform / dress code, how often do you get paid? Please let me know and I'll film a separate video.
If you want to see my video giving you my opinion on if Amazon is safe to work during covid, please check out my video.

I started working at An Amazon warehouse as an FC associate about 2 months ago. Let me tell you, do not try to be fast and overwork yourself because the supervisors are just going to give you more work to do. They are going to notice that you are finishing your assigned task fast and they are going to give you another task even before you finish your first. Just remember that you are getting paid by the hour and everyone else is getting paid the same.

I had all kinds of weird shit happen out there, like flooded buildings, tornadoes, crazy people, etc. I also "borrowed" the company vehicles and taught myself how to drive stick-shift in a truck and how to run a forklift. I once had a kid drag himself like a quarter of a mile up to the building I was in. He'd broken both his legs wrecking his 4-wheeler.

For my warehouse it’s 120 units per hour in the on foot area and then for the OP areas it’s 80 for the smaller stuff and 55 for the bigger stuff. Also on top of rate per hour there is also your DPMO which tracks all the mistakes you made. You can’t put too much weight into a bin. You can’t put similar items together in the same bin or in adjacent bins. And you can’t scan bins before the item which believe it or not a lot of people do that by accident all the time. There are more “mistakes” that they watch out for but they are more complex and most of the time out of your control because the mistake happened at the station before you.

After working at Amazon, I was super glad that I had left. The supervisors were on a complete power trip and the security was even worse. People didn't care about anything. Your stuff is never safe unless you have it in a locker and that includes your winter coat. You get written up for stupid shit like not meeting a quota. They over work you for a shit pay. I am shocked that you were able to get your cell phone past security. To my understanding, that is against Amazon policy. How I know is because I accidentally did that and security was all over my ass. We almost got into a fight, the only thing that stopped us was the supervisor who was standing next to me had seen and heard what was happening. After leaving that company, employees made such a complaint about what was going on. That it actually made the news. As far as their SAFETY goes, their own so called "safety team" was a complete joke. People were hitting each other when driving the machines and speeding. We found out that a yard person working outside was even killed because of poor safety. Another employee was sent to the hospital after being struck by a "reacher" machine which is a larger type of fork lift. Do yourself a favor, think twice before applying and if you do work there. Quit while you still can walk out on your own. Otherwise, watch your ass.

For anyone wondering what it’s like to work at an Amazon warehouse. If you’ve done any sort of warehouse job before, it’ll be by far one of the easiest jobs you have, the work can be long and sometimes a little bit heavy but it’s genuinely so simple. For anyone that hasn’t had any warehouse experience, it’s an easy job and it takes little time to get used to it. But you will be on ur feet all day so buy some comfy shoes and a good insole, remember to take water with you!

Didn't talk about popular topics on why people HATE working at Amazon warehouse, not sure if this is because your distribution center is new and they haven't reached full employment capacity yet or not but here is some food for thought: #1 You have to make "rate", your "rate" is how fast you work, if you meet your "rate" it is slowly increased over time, if you keep failing to make rate you are released from your position. #2 Upward movement within the company is almost impossible, even Jeff Bezos on the record has said 2-3 years is the max he wants warehouse workings working because they lose their "drive" and become too complacent so they manufacture reasons for terminating employment of employees around the 3 year mark. #3 Your break(s) start when you stop working, not when you reach your break room...some of these warehouses are 2+ city blocks long and getting from one spot to another can take 5+ minutes. 15min break? Well, there goes 10min, enjoy your 5min of sitting down time, not to be on your feet for another 4+ hours...enjoy!.

Viruses are hard to eradicate completely. Look at The Spanish Influenza it was discovered in 1918. Guess what it’s still lingering to this very day. This Covid Virus will just replicate itself to create multiple variants. No “vaccine” can stop that. Only TIME and our own built in Human Immunity can slow this virus and weaken it.

Did I hear that right?! Is it really 12 hours a day? Jesus christ, that's a lot of hours.
Update: Holy shit! You guys were not kidding! Apparently there's this thing called "Mandatory Extra Time" (MET) where Amazon Associates HAVE to work 60 hours a week during Peak Season (Thanksgiving, Christmas time, and New Years) for the entire freakin month of Decemeber! Literal, modern day slavery iyam.

Cellphones were forbidden at the Amazon facility that I worked at. We went through metal detectors so I’m always amazed that everyone gets this type of footage. I hated my job at Amazon. It was tiring and draining.

@@fu-ckyoutube551 There's a lot of places the ban the use of phones during work hours. There's a big problem of people getting on social media, making non critical phone calls calls and generally wasting time when they are paid to be working. Not only is it a waste of time but while people are doing that they are not at all focused on their job and quality and productivity drop off significantly. There is also the concern of people walking around with their eyes glued to their phone, not looking out for mobile equipment which could run over them. These things might not seem like an issue to you but from an employers perspective they are issues which need to be dealt with. I'm sure any employer who hears the words "I quit" when they tell a person no phones would be more than happy to accept your resignation, they will almost certainly put a note in your HR file that says do not re-employ.

I never worked on lifts but I had to train on them. The 1st floor stowers and pickers have to use the lifts, they typically rotate people. I think it's kind of fun but yes, sometimes scary.
