Hi Ms. Mattie. I did my turkey your way this year with the apple inside. When I tried to take it out of my pan to carve it, it fell apart in my hands. It was the absolute best turkey that I ever tasted. Everyone loved it. Thanks so much.

I'm from Africa & watching this beautiful family matriarch take the time to do everything from scratch making famous family delectables both with love & her hands, instantly takes me back to the community of women that raised me..
The next generation NEEDS to see this often
    NEEDS to be around this
    NEEDS to smell this and
touch this in order to pass on the rich threads of tradition that keeps family bound & functioning with one another

I never did like chitlins but the way my papa cooked them they were good....LOL love yall

I used to have a fear of cooking turkey because it wouldn't be completely done, but your fall off the bone recipe cooks completely through. I see your big beautiful family that adore you Mattie, and as far as I’m concerned your family dinner is a sign to your followers that we should thank God and break bread together!
I’m so proud of your success in the kitchen but I’m even more proud of you and your family for setting a wonderful example family unity.
When I watch your show I think of the many memories of my mother and grandmother during the holidays bustling around the kitchen as they prepared our meal.

I'm cooking this! I don't really like white meat either because it's always dry and tasteless, but you can see that Mattie's turkey is very moist. What I really like too, being a retired hospital nurse, is using an old hospital gown for an apron! I bet I got one somewhere and I usually wear a lot of food on my clothes by the time I'm done cooking. Thanks for this video.

Aside from your turkey, choose up 3 sides you feel comfortable making and a couple pies for dessert or cake whichever you like, and no shame in hitting the bakery for the desserts it takes the stress off a lot! Enjoy & God bless!

I live how thorough she was....and how clean the kitchen was as well. Only thing that blew me was the lack.of seasoning use on the turkey. I guess it seem weird to me....because Im from Louisiana and we believe in seasoning our food....especially a turkey. We actually inject every part of the turkey with cajun season...along with galic and onion powder....accent...black pepper...then we stuff it with the Holy Trinity (Fresh onions..bell pepper s and celery) Over all I love the video!!
