I sold my 60D last year to buy a 70D. (Only €100 difference). The 70D has double the buffer size, shoots smaller lossless RAW files and has dual pixel autofocus. The auto focus works at 50fps 1080p RAW aswell which is pretty insane.
Yeah, the 70D was a great update for the Canon APSC line! Using it with Magic Lantern sounds like those updates really help for shooting RAW video. Have you been able to use RAW video in your workflow a ton?
@@reelfilmmaking101 I'm interested in this. Pls can you show me the link to download the version of ML you are using for the 70D? Cos I think it's experimental yeah? And is it reliable and stable? And what resolution works best for you? Thank you!! I'd be grateful if you reply!
Yeah, I'll look into it! I did do a video about time lapse photography a while back, you might find it interesting. ruclips.net/video/03TE3C5J8dY/видео.html
I have a question regarding the 60D: i bought two of these to record podcasts but i want to record via HDMI out with a Blackmagic Atem Mini. Does it do 1080p 30fps hdmi out? I know i can use ML to have a clean HDMI ou but i don't know the resolution. Thanks :)
@@nsicantv8580 , you would be adding double the load on the processor due to it having to output two displays so you would lose writing performance on the SD card.
How can I install the Magic Lantern for Canon 800D camera because there is no such version for the camera on the Magic Lantern website, please help me if necessary
Hi Reel. Thanks for the video. I have a question regarding streaming with this canon 60D via hdmi and capture card. First of all I am aware of using Magic Lantern for a clean HDMI but not sure if it will remove the white rectangle(face detection on autofocus). Can you advise something ? Secondly, I have watched some other video shooted with ML on Canon 600s and it's giving pink/red dots on footage while previewing it. Is there such thing as well with the 80D ? I'm really expecting your avdise on this
Hi @Reconciliation TV glad you enjoyed the video. In terms of getting a clean hdmi out with Magic Lantern, to my knowledge within the Magic Lantern menu if you turn off global draw that should remove the autofocus box. Another option would be to set your camera to manual focus and just pull focus for whatever you're filming if you're taking a hdmi feed for something like a event livestream. For your other question, I've heard of the pink/red dots happening in some of the still in progress builds for Magic Lantern but I've never experienced it. Currently there isn't a build of Magic Lantern you can use on the 80D, only the 60D and 70D. Hope this helps!
Hi Reel, wow thanks alot for helping. It means a lot. I will update you whenever I try it. For now I'm also trying to find a dummy battery for a Canon 60D in South Africa where I am currently. Hopefully I will find it
Hello, is there a way to get 1/48 for 24fps, because 60D has 1/50 and id rather use that for 25fps. I know there is not much difference, if there is away, please do tell or if there is any other camera than can give the exact number, thanks. I also know, we can do a lot on post, Posterize Time for FPS and CC Force Motion Blur for 180 degree, but I'd like to do as much in real time, than post, unless it's the last option, thanks Also, how do I get focus peaking on 60D
Magic Lantern doesn’t give you better autofocus, but gives you better focus tools like focus peaking and magic zoom to help you nail your focus. Hope that helps!
Good evening Master, I have a Canon 60D, but I noticed that the firmware version is no longer 1.1.1 how do I install Magic Lantern today? Congratulations on the channel
Thanks! If you google for Canon 60D firmware 1.1.1 you should be able to find a zip file with it. I've also had some other viewers on the channel tell me they found the drivers for the 1.1.1 firmware on Canon's Japanese website.
I'm sorry to hear that. Make sure when you go to install magic lantern that you copy all three install files (autoexec.bin; ML; ML-SETUP.FIR) to your sd card. Once you have all those copied, set your camera to manual mode and navigate in the menu to update firmware for camera. Click update and you should be good to go. Hope that helps!
Thank you Corey for making this video. Very helpful

I don't seem able to change FPS override or resolution, but resolution did come out same when I looked at a shot file.
Can you make one utilizing the photography side?

I'm guessing you are not using the SD card interface overclock feature to get higher write speeds?
Wow, how can you activate that?
