I work in apparel at a big chain store. When your measuring your leg length make sure you use the inseam...or the inner thigh area of your leg to get the length. It will give you a better judge of what length pants to get. So measure crotch to ankle. I know this can be dysphoria inducing if you have someone else do it. Getting a good measuring tape from a fabric store was a godsend to many of my ftm friends.
i find that if the person holds the side near their crotch and i'm the one reading the ankle measurement, they can wear a long shirt to pretty much cover their bits and reduce discomfort.
"women's" shoes are designed to make your feet look long and narrow. "Men's" shoes generally have more room in the toe box.
And that is why I like men’s shoes
Honestly I wish I'd known that even before realizing I was trans. It would've given me options other than running shoes, which were the only things I could find in wide sizes--and even those don't fit quite right.
I have to shop in boys because of my little feet.
I have really big feet for my sex at least,
Size 10 in men’s

Nobody:
Aaron: pents
Idk where he's from, but his accent is charming and I love it
That's not how its pronounced?..
Not even sure if it’s an accent some people just pronounce stuff differently.
Example
Milk: melk or malk
Room: rum
And yes, pents
@@fraud_6068 everything is an accent. The way he pronounces pants is not standard American accent, it sounds like Canada or someone from New Jersey who is being purposefully articulate. Nothing wrong with a different accent but his way of saying pants is definitely distinct
@@fraud_6068 that’s an accent though 😂 only people in Massachusetts say rum in my experience
Formal clothing video would be really cool :)
I’d love if you did a video about how to dress in the summer
I second this
Yess
me in florida in a hoodie in sweatpants
My parents think I’m just a girl who wants to dress like a boy even though IVE CAME OUT TO THEM!! Someone gimme tips please qwq
It’s really a tough one - I went through the same thing for a VERY long time.
I know I can’t understand what you’re going through because I’m not you. But I’ll share what helped me just Incase it helps:
I realized that there ultimately was nothing I could do to “prove” or explain myself to people who were not actually genuinely ready to listen.
I was older and living on my own already, so I was able to make the decision to transition regardless. But I held myself back for years, because I fully believed that I HAD to wait until EVERYONE ELESE around me was ready. I thought that I’d lose them all and so I couldn’t take hormones or change my name until THEY were ready.
After trying over and over again, I really realized that their support was not something I could wait around forever for, and that I was making myself miserable for people who couldn’t even be bothered to listen to what I was saying. They’d just patronize me and talk down to me.
What’s weird (and problematic) is that they all started respecting me after I started hormones and had surgery. I guess that made it “real” in their heads (despite the fact that they still felt it was unnecessary?)
Anyway, I don’t know if sharing my experience helps at all. I just wanted to connect to say that I have felt something similar, and really my freedom came when I stopped waiting for them.
I hope things become easier for you soon ❤️
It may sound petty, but im the type to gender correct anybody who misgenders me. And ill do it every single time. Every day. So any time they refer to you as "she" and you hear it? Jump in and say "he" :) so long as you feel safe doing so.

Welcome to the group. Aaron is amazing and so are most his followers.
YAS AARON IS THE SWEETEST BEAN. WELCOME, FRIEND.
Oh, you will not be disappointed. His content is great, his animals are super cute, and he's hecka sweet.
If those 36 pants are from h&m I noticed their pants always go up in length as they go up in width so it’s impossible to get a wide hip and short leg. Tbh h&m isn’t great for short chubby guys
Demetri Lewis no where is good for short chubby guys
fit is everything. my kid has short limbs and a thick waist/curves, so it's really hard to buy for them. men's clothing tends to be very long in the leg. i appreciate all your tips!
I like knowing Aaron and I have the same pants
This is a great help. I had come out as Transgender last November. I have been trying my best to be me, but it really hard when I'm still in my teens. I often wear jeans or baggy shorts which feels good for me. I just wear any shirt that fits though I'm more top dysphoria. When I'm out though I pass really well most of the time.
By the way, I like your cat! They are adorable.
The way you say pants is so nice, it's like ✨pants✨
Uuuughh, Aaron! I looooooove how you pronounce consonants so muchhhh! It is so pleasant to listen to, especially on top of your calming cadence and tone. Basically, I'm just in love with the sound of your speech and how you talk. Loved the video, as always. Love mischievous Caelem, and hope Señor Lamb is doing ok. I always think you look super cute with how you go about changing clothes. You're adorbs. Thanks for the content. :) Hope you have a wonderful day!
Congrats! Not only a sponsored video, but I also got two ads before the video (hopefully not just because I'm early for once).
Spencer Thiel I just got 2 long ads before the video :)
I love seeing you smile and just being happy about making videos. You just always give off such a positive vibe in your videos and I love it 🙂
A video on formal clothing would be awesome because I'm graduating from uni soon and want to wear a suit real bad
Aaron, why are you so perfect? (I know nobody is perfect, but let me compliment you) You explain things so well, thanks
This is really sweet - thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@AaronAnsuini Thank you for the content ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The first second tho :))
Edit: THE SHELF!!!
I laughed with tears
Please do formal wear! My profession is strictly suits and it is a struggle
Padded shoulders can look more masc
Idk about anyone else but drop crotch harum pants have been a game changer for me. Cheap/affordable online, loose fit so I dont worry about having to pack or be uncomfortable due to swelling(Chronic pain is weird) and they come in tons of patterns and colors. I had the same issue with basketball shorts with the wonky pockets, I have switched to nike and it seems to be less of an issue im not sure why,so if anyone has clues on that mystery let me know lol.
Trans person with EDS here. I was feeling down, then I watched the first 10 seconds of your video and my heart was filled with warmth. You're a great person.
I also recommend learning some basic clothes altering. Being able to adjust the length of your pants and adjust the length of sleeves and such can be a really cheap way of changing the look of certain clothes. Also it will give you a wider variety of clothes you can buy that will work for your personal body and wishes
you're my favourite person aaron. your videos help so much and it's so great to be able to see content from someone so similar to me. I find you very inspiring
Keep up the great work, Aaron. I’d love to see a formal dressing video!
Your voice is so nice. It's really soothing? Also thank you for making these videos. I finally have money to spend on clothes instead of the hand me downs I've been wearing my whole life and I realized I have no idea where to shop or what to wear.
Bro I LOVE the new setup!
ah, that intro is everything! you're so perfect, everything's is so perfect in your vids, i love ur little kisses to things, it's fun and wamr to see idk why.
Would love to see tips on suits/formal wear especially since ill be going to prom this year it would be really helpful
tysm for this video as a guy who was born female who's curvy with hipdips its so hard to find fashion tips for making ur torso look straight tysm
tbh ty a lot for this video since pants are a very big part of my dysphoria
but also, please do a formal wear video too! i think itd help a lot of us transmasc folk tbh
Higher waisted pants with tucked in shirts helps my dysphoria a whole bunch. I never wear shirts that aren’t a bit cropped “untucked”.
I had no idea it was the underwear waist band that was making my sides do that out thingy. I always thought it was my pants, and that little out thingy made me really uncomfortable with my hips/sides. Thank you for informing me!!
Gosh I know I'm finding this out too late but please formal wear video please! I got married and got a shirt that absolutely did not fit my hips which meant I had to not tuck the vest... So yeah would love the input to avoid future mistakes 🖤 thanks for this one, definitely helpful
I didn't watch this video when it first came out because I was like meh I don't wanna hear him talk about clothes. But DAMN AARON you got some gooood tips!
Hey thank you!!
this is super helpful, thank you!
I love how you say pants wow
ur voice is so calming :)
Thanks for the tips! 🙂
Cat knocks down shelf, You cut and fix the shelf: cat yells at you on cue *priceless* lol
I'm so short I can buy Capri length pants and they almost are long enough, I have a long torso but short legs, I wear a 38 waist and always have leg length issues. Mens pants fit SO much better! I used to be a boys size 16 "husky" until all my surgeries and gained weight. Thank you so much for this video, I never thought about how much underwear makes a big difference on how pants fit!
I would love you to continue this series. Formal wear took me forever to figure out and I still can sometimes have problems if I do not go and get a tailored suit. Which most trans men have to sadly because we are usually shorter and built differently
I appreciate the video, my bottom dysphoria has been pretty bad lately so thank you! (also I love the shirt:)
Like, cool video and all, but why is nobody talking about how calming his voice is
couple quick notes!
1. shorts should usually never fall below the knee.
2. if you want to feel a taller get a pair of shoes with a small heel inside the shoe, the sole on the outside will be flat, but it will raise you up.
3. if you want to look taller, only wear vertical stripes on striped clothes, horizontal stripes will make you look wider.
4. for looking taller, especially in formal wear, try to avoid color blocking. so if you have a vest, it should match with the color of you pants
i have a whole host of tips especially for suits and formal wear, so if you need help you can shoot me a message on insta (although i don’t check it very often), my handle is poets_inscribe
Heeey
R u still open to questions👀?
the youth section for pants is so amazing. I bought mine at h&m....
I’m a closeted trans guy and this was a really good video to help me know what to buy
It's the knee placement on pants that determines whether you look taller or shorter. Same problem with women's clothes. A size 10-12 (average for most) is considered plus sized which means the legs are made taller than average pants. so if you are a short size 12, the knee of the pants will sit below your natural knee, making it appear like the pants are too baggy on you, making you seem shorter than you are. Problem is, because women's clothing does not measure length of leg pretty much any size you wear on a shorter individual will always be too long in the thighs giving you that horrible bunching below the knee.
I love these kinds of videos. I never learned how to dress my self properly the way that i wanted to when i was young and now being out to my family no one really thinks about how I dont know how anything works in this whole New World. Like I ask male friends how to do things and they explained how their dads taught them as children. I dont know, I wish i had that. But these videos are good too, this way im not completely lost!
I started hemming my trousers a while ago with the help of a friend because I'm around a 31 waist and even with that it's kind of hard to find 30 leg trousers. You only have to look for the correct waist size, which is way easier, and hemming really isn't hard if you know how to use a sewing machine or have a friend help you! Even I was able to do it and I had precisely zero experience with sewing machines beforehand and am not exactly talented when it comes to sewing in general.
Please do a formal attire video, my guy! Would be very helpful
Hey, I have a quick tip for trans guys who are struggling to pass. If you're thinking of either using make up to make your eyebrows look bushier, or contouring to appear more angular and masculine in the face, just don;t do it, because it does look like make up and most people can't tell that it's make up, so I wouldn't recommend it
How do you know if your cis or transgender??
Hi, my name is Jordan and I’m 18 years old. I started questioning my gender around the beginning of 7th grade. I got my period the month before I was supposed to start 7th grade. Getting my period threw me off and made me really uncomfortable. I never could put my finger exactly on why I felt so weird but the way that people were treating me and the way my body was changing, I hated it to say the least. I remember finding out was transgender meant in like the 10th grade but I didn’t really think much of it. It wasn’t until I turned 17 and was a junior in high school that I really began to ask myself if I was transgender female to male or not. I began to wear more guy clothes and wanted a haircut. I went to therapy and concluded that I just liked to wear men’s clothes because they were more comfortable. Then, in my senior year of highschool my gender spun out of control. By the time I was to graduate high school, I had no idea who the heck I was. My mind was always all over the place. I had mental breakdowns a lot and sometimes for no apparent reason. I started to feel really insecure and wanted to get back into therapy since it has previously helped me before. So there I was, back in therapy after I graduated high school. I told my therapist exactly how I had been feeling and we had come to the conclusion that I was probably transgender female to male. For the next six months I identified as transgender female to male. It was hard sometimes and I had a lot of doubt but I pushed through it. However, now my thoughts on my self are very different. I no longer feel like a man or want to be one. The thought of growing facial hair makes me want to literally cry and I actually can appreciate my breasts and love them because they make me feel feminine and make me feel like a woman. I couldn’t imagine transitioning into a man, mainly because I would miss my current body and feel quite out of my element in that type of body. But it’s like now I am so dang confused! Was the whole feeling like a transgender man just a phase?? How do you know if you are cis gender?? How does one tell if they are transgender?? I actually want to be my assigned gender at birth and have so much self love for myself that I never had before. I really do feel like a girl, inside and out. Does this mean that I’m really a cis gender female?? Please leave me your thoughts and advice below, any and every comment of advice is very much appreciated trust me!🥰❤️💓
If you really love the parts of you that make you a woman I (as an outsider) would says you are probably not a trans guy, BUT that is your journey and you may change over time. Keep In mind you can dress and present in anyway you want and still be a woman (or man) gender and gender expressing can be complicated so don’t try to rush a label of try to force yourself into a box
Your cat has fantastic comedic timing.
I know that the video is old but If anyone is watching then try rugby length shorts. They are shorter and baggier and if you buy the right material they are the most comfortable things on the planet. I am not exaggerating.
I love this video, thanks
He said fall straight and I was like I'm not straight
The pressure on waist thing with underwear, I actually need that for I have a hip dip
YES DO SUMMER AND FOLMAL PLEASEEEEEEEEE
omg i have those type of pants and it is a life saver
I also have the elastic band pants with a low crotch. the fabric's a bit firmer so the crotch looks fuller without me packing necessarily
Hi im ftm this really helped ^^ thx
Thank u for the video:D
It’s great what information is out there for trans folk - super helpful video! ❤️💋🦄🌈🦄🌈🦄
Oh man thank you so much for this. I've been struggling a lot with gate keeping health care providers, because apparently I need to get better before they're willing to actually help me. (literally had a psychologist tell me I can't get treatment at a gender clinic because I'm too depressed and therefore I'd end up regretting transitioning, and that I just need to try harder to accept that :)))
So I've been trying to find ways to make life even just a bit easier, and I've always had a hard time finding pants I actually feel alright in, so I always just end up wearing pants that are 4 sizes too big so no one (including myself) can see my massive thighs. Now I at least have some tips on how to find pants that well, don't make me extremely dysphoric or make me look like a potato sack :D
Surprisingly the best place I've found for jeans and pants with short leg inseams is Amazon. Their "men's" clothing brand Goodthreads let's you go down to a 28" inseam for every waist size they carry!!!
Is it just me or does he kinda look like Orlando Bloom, also I love that glasses!!
Please do a formal wear video
Please do a video on suits!! I love them but have no idea what I’m doing.
i love your T-shirt♥️
first time watching. I love your voice
Oh wow thank you so much!! Also, hello! Welcome! Really glad to have you!! ❤️
wait i love the first pair of pants
I hate the summer!
I can only wear t shirts that are dark and that catches the heat.... or with something distracting when I can't wear my binder and even then and shorts work when they dont tighten up at the crotch cos I dont have one right ..... *laughs while crying* yay dysphoria and problems! I dont pack cos nope.... too risky for slip ups .
I like your cat & cat shirt!
Another person that can agree you don't have to look a certain way to make others feel comfortable. (Passing)
I love how my parents don't give a shart about what I wear as long as its not crop tops and bootie shorts, which makes me happy cause I always distract them while walking into the men's clothing section and if I'm lucky I can get a few new "guy" clothes 😈
There was this one time i bought boxers from the brand levis .I’ve never bought boxers from that brand i usually get puma , hanes , or champion. I got my usual size which is a large . Well when i tried them on they were so tight from my inner thighs and it barley went up from my butt 💀😭😂😂
I love your voice!!!!
I got two ads before the video!!!! Also this video is so good thank youuuuu
George Brand [Walmart] have sizes in odd number and even leg length of 28 to 30 inches.
Thank you. So much. :)
2020 gang watching Aaron cause I miss him
Yo I’ve been thinking of doing a video like this you’ve got hella good tips
He has a very articulate late voice, like on the t's he was verry articulate, I think it's really cute lmao
I HAVE THE SAME WHITE STUFFED RAT THAT'S IN THE BACKGROUND ON THE CHAIR!! I DON'T KNOW WHERE I HAVE IT I JUST HAVE IT OMG
XD your first underwear definitely knows you're a bad boi,
Muchacho malo!
Another clothing hack, especially for chubbier (or plus size like myself) guys / transmascs: You can dramatically change your body shape by going up in waist size and wearing your pants higher! I know wearing jeans or shorts on or below your hipbones is "in" but wearing higher rise (maybe 1-3 fingers width from belly button) lengthens your legs (making you look taller!), prevents any pant sagging or falling, and can straighten out hips while minimizing a belly. It's a lifesaver for anyone who doesn't like their body proportions in low rise pants. I highly recommend joggers or jogging shorts and Uniqlo's EZY jeans since they fit slim while being a slightly higher rise.
Just an additional tip. Love you Aaron!
Men's pants/trousers tend to be rather straight and so are not really designed to accommodate the typical female hip/waist ratio and the more fleshy female thighs.
Also helps to hit the gym. It's hard enough trying to disguise the naturally wide female pelvis/hips and more fleshy thighs without carrying a lot of extra poundage. But remember, losing weight in the gym is not as easy as it is for most guys.
OMG IM SORRY BUT LIKE IN THE START ON LIKE THE CHAIR YOU HAVE I HAVE THOSE RATS TOOO
What's funny to me is this became almost an advert for adidas basketball shorts. 😅 Adidas just makes decent stuff usually.
Yes!! More videos like these please thankyou!! ❤️❤️
2:17 really got me XD
Nothing makes me more happy than an Aaron video!
I love your kitty! Is he a Devon Rex?
He’s a Cornish Rex! And thank you! ☺️💖
I starting watching this video a couple months ago, before I came out. (Never finished the video) I'm now out as nonbinary and I'm still looking at clothing tips😭
Yes formal!!!
Lololol I was watching this video and my mom just walked by as you lifted your shirt and she must be thinking what the hell I am watching (she doesn't know anything about my trans thoughts) 😂
Pants are such a struggle for how I’m shaped. My waist is really small and my thighs are the opposite. :/ The line between falling off me and skin tight is the thinnest in the world.
My boyfriend wears 'women's pants' sometimes because he likes skinny jeans that much and honestly he's the kind of "manly" man (or at least that's how ppl see him) and you can't tell they are supposed to be cut for women it really depends how you wear them. Cool hack about the women's boyfriend cut !
