  • LOWER BODY Exercises after Breast Cancer Surgery. This is a beginner series of exercises. I incorporated these into my routine after my double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery and continue to do them for maintenance. You can start to do these exercises 2-3 weeks after surgery. If you’re further out from surgery and getting back to exercise these would be great to start back with.

    1️⃣ Glute bridge
    2️⃣ Clamshell
    3️⃣ Donkey kicks
    4️⃣ Fire hydrant
    5️⃣ Birddog
    Try 2 rounds of 10-15 reps each

    I love this topic!
    We would be very interested in heavy weight lifting exercises to start with again after radiation. It helps so much with joint pains due to Letrozol.

      I’m going to do another video in the future about the next stage of lower body exercises (strength training). You’re right, weight training can really help with joint pain.

    Ma'am, pls confirm all these exercises can be safely done by people whose axillary lypmh nodes are removed fully.

      Yes, especially since these exercises focus on the lower body.

      Thanks Ma'am for your reply. However my question is for exercises 3, 4 and 5 where we have to be on all fours. As I shared my situation about axillary dissection, my concern is just to avoid lymphedema. Thanks😊

      @suprithas131984 You should be ok to be on all 4’s. As always, self-assess when you’re adding in any new exercises and see if they aggravate.
