I was using my inhaler every hour for a very bad respiratory problem. (Like a bad case of asthma). Two months ago I very beligerantly started on a "fake belly laughing protocol" and "fake coughing protocol." It was so fake and I really resented doing it, but I forced myself to do it.
Well, the first time I did it for around 3 or 4 minutes the vibration released a lot of phlegm, and I coughed-up a lot of it. I actually breathed better and forestalled using the inhaler. I repeated the deep belly laughter every15 or 20 minutes! and phlegm came up from the back of my throat (post nasal) and up from my lungs! I spit it into tissue.
I continued doing this protol every 15 minutes all morning as I kept feeling better for awhile and then another spell of shortness of breath would creep in. Well, by the end of the day I had totally substituted fake deep belly laughter and forced fake coughing for the inhaler!!!!
    A major miracle!
It's been two months now, and I barely ever have to do the belly laughing or coughing any more and I only use my inhaler occasionally each week! (Mostly after midnight and I feel stuffy but I'm too sleepy and lazy to do the laughing thing.)
    It's a miracle!
Of course I religiously drink my tonic (turmeric, ginger, garlic, pepper drink) every morning also.
I sleep through the night now! I have cut down my use of the inhaler by 95%. That's a huge, serious miracle!
By the way, I stopped resenting doing the fake belly laughter thing because it became an automatic reflex after just a few days!
PLEASE try it, you will probably be very impressed with it!!

I just finished my 3rd round of periodontal surgery (over about 25 years). Never has any dentist or oral surgeon suggested the mouth tape. One dentist made me an appliance that cost $400.00 to stop the snoring. This last incidence of perio ran me $3500.00 plus an extraction. Wondering why they wouldn't tell you how to prevent the need for future treatment? $$. Sad. I've also been treated for HBP for about 25 years. Yet, no one has suggested that mouth breathing could be a problem. $$

Those who fail to make the right decisions early in life end up regretting it. Nevertheless, investing can be difficult and risky doing it solely, For this reason, I advise seeking help from professionals(financial advisors). It’s not just watching videos and reading investment books the challenge is using them well.

Western medicine is only treating symptoms and not adressing the cause and we can be free and healthy if we escape our prison where we locked ourselves in. I have had not one night of insommnia ever since I began taping about 4 months ago. I have been an insommniac since childhood, having been terrified in catholic school and also was an abused child at home. I did not have insommnia during my years of deep meditative practice either. Then I stopped meditating and it came back. Now, at age 76, after listening to Mr. Nestor, I no longer have insommnia. One thing that has been helpful for me is that I found this blue tape that is very gentle. The reccomended white tape is too harsh for my facial skin. Getting it off is difficult because it hurts a lot. It does not tear or damage my skin but it does hurt when removing it. I get the blue stuff at the drugstore. I am so grateful because this has changed my life. I just read an article about insommnia in the NYT this morning by the way and there was not a mention of Nestor’s book “Breath” or the taping technique. I wonder why? It is Sun. 08/22/21. It’s sort of appalling.

I would breathe normally and let my legs do the work. Today at 63 I breathe through my nose almost all the time and slowly. Even when walking now I breathe slowly. I started smoking around 14 years old and smoked till I was 47. I believe the reason I don't breathe through my nose when sleeping is because of the damage I did to my throat while smoking.

I started following Dr. James Nestor advice, and I'm starting to feel better just by being aware when I'm breathing through my mouth and correcting that by breathing through my nose.
I've also ordered Dr. James Nestor, book
Breath, The New Science of a Lost Art
    I can't wait to receive this book😊

A regular Dr is not an expert in anything. I knew this when I got sick and they said you're fine. I said no I'm not. And i just didn't find the right one back then. It was a moldy house. Then fixing the symptoms was not untill 15 years alter. Finding an expert in a field is a life saver. Thank you James for finding the experts and the masters of a craft. Monks in the snow is enough of a clue to say this is a life style. This is how the ancestors survived and did so well millions of years ago. How did they survive without goretex and n95 masks. I'm way more relaxed nose breathing. Very cool

I have been taping for a good while but recently read somewhere that the tape shouldn't cover the entire mouth. If I don't tape my entire mouth I have issues with snoring. Is it dangerous if I tape my entire mouth?

Tried telling, texting & all the above to the benefits of proper breathing techniques. It works & something everyone can do & it's free. So why is it in 1ear & out the other. To most Dr.'s included. Is it too easy? Answer well I do breath so why do I need it. I find the ones that listen the most & willing to try are people that are interested in staying healthy. Unfortunate to those who don't care about their health.

Try it. It only took me a day or two to get used to it. I only use a one inch wide by one and a half inch long piece right in the middle of the mouth.
I don’t feel right now if I don’t wear it before bed. It really is easy, and doesn’t take long to get used to, at least it didn’t for me.
      Good luck!

You're not going to choke you would wake up and then you just pull the tape off. I was paranoid that I wouldn't be able to breathe through my nose because my nose always feels stuffy I tried it I made sure I blew my nose before I put my tape on I was fine and I've been taping ever since

I have sleep apnea and wake up coughing and choking when I fall asleep, so I hear you on that fear of having mouth taped shut!
What I do is fold the edges of the paper 3M tape square in, so I can pull it off EASILY if I wake up choking. It has REALLY changed my life to do nose breathing, especially that my loud snoring partner is now also mouth taping and training himself to do nose breathing at night, and Now, he's NOT snoring and choking and gasping all night, so I can get some sleep. Miracle!
I love these good people on RUclips who share genuine wisdom with such brilliance and kindness.

And your older relative who went from breast to table food.....WERE NOT taken off the breast at 6 mo......
I'm 75.....I nursed w only brief lapses for years....
My children went from the breast to the table. My 6 mo old breast feeding son would sit in his high chair watching me can the produce from the garden.
I cut EVERYTHING coming in from out side into small
Pieces and put little samples on his tray....he drooled and slathered and enjoyed every bite.....one child, the Dr insisted she receive 1 4oz bottle ea day of similac or one of those stupid man made concoctions.....she HATED that stuff.....on her 3rd try, on the 3rd day.....she coughed and spluttered...
    Mucus going everywhere
And suddenly stopped breathing....I was 21....I was a red cross swimming instructor-life guard and had had cpr training..I covered her mouth and nose w my mouth....and puffed gently a couple times....
She was all blue when a huge clump of mucus
Hit her inner abdomen w a palpable thump and she cried and screamed vigorously.....I was so done w modern medicine... so done.....and I'm blest to have lived thru every time
    I've rubbed elbows w their knowledgable administrations.....🤦🏻‍♀️

It's too bad that Nestor isn't familiar with the work of Weston A. Price, Sally Fallon Morell, Mary Ruddick, Catherine Shanahan, Bill Schindler, and related thinkers (e.g., advocates of Paleo, Primal, and Carnivore diets).
What is the common factor to breastfeeding and chewing tough foods? A baby breast feeds on fatty breast milk. And tough chewy foods are fatty, gristly, and collagenous meats. These behaviors are associated with a traditional and healthy way of eating.
The specific shared factor is animal fats and, more generally, nutrient-dense animal foods as part of an evolutionary-based diet. This means high intake of fat-soluble vitamins in bioavailable form (D3, K2, A as retinoids, and E complex) that ensure strong bones and well developed bone structure, among much else.
When humans are malnourished, no amount of breastfeeding and chewing can help. That isn't to say those other factors don't play a role, as long as the sufficient nutrients are available. It's the whole package as part of a healthy lifestyle. But no informed person can deny the centrality of nutrition.
