Don't forget about the other glutes, especially if you are having any hip pain. This additional video gives a selection of exercises to get all 3 glutes working as they should ruclips.net/video/F4TIONMJY0A/видео.html
Brad, what happened to you?
@@agrotta1650 aphasia
These are great…can I do this even though my hamstrings hurt? I pulled (I think) a few years back at a running race and haven’t been able to run since…the race was 30 miles and now I can’t run a half mile 😢 but during physical therapy they gave me stretches but also said to strengthen my glutes.
Will best I can do to form help strengthen? I have condition known as Lupus a by product of it is my soft tissue stretches out I can't even do a fully straight leg raise on my stronger leg which never seen a doctors knife
@@agrotta1650Did you mean Bob?
I’ve been doing these for about a month now and I feel like a new person. Thank you Bob and Brad! ❤
You are welcome, glad it helped.
Oh my goodness…..these are the exercises that my PT therapist gave me years ago…….thanks for the push to do these again, guys! ❤
Happy to be the reminder!
Did you do it?
I can do the standing exercises ( not bad for nearly 80) my hip replacement went really well. No bruising or swelling. My surgeon said that my muscles were in good order and I was not overweight which was in my favour. Getting on the floor is an issue unless I can pull myself up on something. Perhaps you could show us how to get off the floor with no aids. It is hard to believe how fit I am, compared to a year ago though. I did prehab thanks to yourselves, and I try to keep at the exercises, and they have paid off.
Praying for you Bob, You are an inspiration
What exactly happened to Bob? Did he have a stroke?
You guys make such a difference for me. Thank you 😊
You guys have been so helpful during my sciatica recovery. Bless the 2 of you.
Careful for some people who are overly TFL-dominant. Their TFL might be doing the work rather than the glute medius. Good cue is to keep a finger or thumb on the TFL and make sure it’s not firing
Huh?
TfL?
TFL is Tensor Fascia Latae
Exactly what happens to me 😭😭😭
Timing is everything! I’ve had pain in glute med (right side) for some time. Already feels better!
Thanks for all you do. And prayers for Bob. 🙏🏻
Vaccine injury?
I soooooo needed to see this - I have been having trouble with my hips and legs - cannot thank you enough!!❤🧡💛
Have A WONDERFUL WEEKEND Bob.!!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼👏🏻💪🏼🤗
Hello Bob and Brad you have helped me big time and saved me money thanks Barry New Zealand
I was just thinking of glute stability and you guys made a video on it, thx
I just started Physical Therapy in Pgh PA for this very thing!! You two are much more fun than the one I go to 🤣
Fox chapel PT is excellent.
I agree,I have encountered a physioterrorist at my local hospital.
@@wendyrowland7787 😂😂😂
Lovely video, great exercises, i struggle with glute medius and minimus, mine switch off after a while when i run, these exercises may help me , thanks guys!
Just what I needed! Tore my glute medius muscle about 6 years ago and started physical therapy for the second time in February. I will add a couple of these to my exercise routine. Thank you!
how did the tear happen? thinking i might have from rotating my hip while jumping on the other foot:football
These are great...and also timely (for me, anyway).
The last one, I did on one foot “tippy-toed”, since I don’t have stairs inside and it is dark out.😁
Thank you, both!
And Bob, glad to see you doing so well and managing your challenges. Prayers are being answered.
I have pain in this muscle after being on my feet at work every day. Turns out I tend put my weight on one hip, and this was straining the 'stabilizing' muscles in my glutes.
Glad you mentioned the Ataxia - I’m an SLP and was going to privately message! He’s doing great!
Many thanks to you fellows for all I've learned about caring for my own body.
❤ love you two !!! Thanks for this one
Great to see Brad doing so well! I had not tuned in for a while. Thanks you guys! I work with seniors in a free program called MOB, Matter of Balance with our local Volunteer Center, and I use some of your videos.I personally need these specific exercises, especially the stair/lift one is very very helpful.
Excellent!!! Did them and boy it hurts good
I’m expecting and this was exactly what I needed.
I had hip replacement surgery 4 months ago and before that, I wasn’t exercising my guis and kegs because it was painful. Consequently, my quad, calf and glute muscles became so weak, I still couldn’t walk without a cane, and couldn’t go up and down stairs without holding on to the railing for dear life as well as using the cane. I’m excited to start doing these exercises….you explain them so clearly, so I’m hoping to get those glutes stronger so I can toss my cane!!
I need this like you can’t believe! Thank you!
Thank both of you so much for all the great videos!! They have made a big difference in my bone and muscle health.
Are these exercizes safe for people with osteoporisis? Thank you for your channel, I love you two and Sara Meeks!
Number four
Exactly the exercises I was looking for, great work.
That 3rd one has to be super challenging. Definitely will try! THANK YOU
Happy to help, good luck!
I have picked out 3 of the 5 I plan to do. Should i do these everyday or just a few times per week? Thank you so much for your videos!!!
The general rule is to do repetitions until you honestly can't continue, wait 3 minutes and repeat two more sets. Leave your self two days to recover. Don't forget to have a good protein intake.
Did you know a short clip of you guys is being used in an advert on youtube , for a pillow? @Bob & Brad
Thank you for explaining this. I have been to a series physical therapy sessions twice. Think I'm siting too much. Both hips now have tight IT bands.
Thank you thank you
Hi B&B, the first standing exercise, lateral flexion of the hip rolling affecting the medial fibers of Gluth medius Gluth minimus the actual rounding off of that hand demonstration, showing where this muscle begins and ends has properties of internal and external rotation that also need to be challenged as a resultant exercise.
God bless you guys your tips are absolutely God gift to me.keep laughing and send your tips with great energy. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
I have such bad leg,, hip, and back pain. MRI is fine. I know its my muscles. I'm going to try this!
This is a good one. Really good for run warm up and cool down too.
Love u guys
Awesome, Thankyou. Nice fellas too.

r these good to rehab and re-strenghtening if i have tibial/knee tendinitis and sore at quadriceps? (i´m 38, 8 months with these pains that don´t go away neither with fisiotherapy) thx a lot :))

Hello BND your second floor exercise the moment to the axis that you were trying to manipulate is incorrect. The motion you are demonstrating is lateral flexion of the spine with secondary hip abduction, adduction
POOR SAM!! What did you guys do to him?
Thanks Boyz....👍
Your awesome. Good video
My sciatica has reduced 80% within days of basic glute exercises!!!
great advise mk wis
My PT said my butt was flatter than board and it adds to my sciatic pain
How do we safely stretch after doing these exercises? What stretches should we do?
I like to sit and cross one leg over the other and bend over gently. On the floor pulls nicely on that burning muscle. That’s my go to.
When doing the excerise on the floor raising your leg...are you raising the side that is injured. In other words I have an issue on my right glute medius, so I would lay on my left side raising my right leg...correct
I love Sam, he is always quite and shy
I tear partialy my gluteus medius after Hip replacement and now I am sufering a lot. Already 3 months past after the injury only little improvement. IT destroy me mentaly.
Thanks for sharing 🙏❤️
I was helping a friend move, carrying boxes up and down stairs so I got a good glute workout without trying, and lo and behold, my balance is better just going up and down stairs now. I can go one foot to each step instead of one foot down, then the other on the same step, repeat Oh well, I guess I will exercise after all. These look like what I need.
I can only feel the first exercise on the side of my thigh. This is also feels like it’s already overworked. Why can’t I feel it in my glutes? I have gluten apathy, and it should definitely be burning right now for how weak they are
These exercises are great but my leg doesn’t want to move when I’m lying on my side it doesn’t want to move, why is that?
So much pain with that bent-knee side plank in my piriformis...
“yeah im getting smaller, either that or you’re getting taller. dont worry it wasnt from these exercises”. always funny 😁
Didn’t Jane Fonda do these in her workout vid 40 years ago?
When I exercise on DOING Lower abs...My Hips hurt inside..And I feel that Something is tying my viens ..
Can i do this exercises with hernia at lower back?
Does Side hip abduction work if its help done by others? I mean the muscle will be strengthen if its moved by others because I can't do on my own.
my problem is stiffness..... can i do these same ?
Is it okay to do these if I have a partially torn gluteus medius tendon insertion?
can we do these with spondyliothesis?
What if you can't get down on the floor
Impossible when your joints are bone-on-bone and locked
What can you do if you don’t have a staircase? What if you have a structural leg length discrepancy (17mm)?
Leg length discrepancy is most likely because of lateral pelvic tilt, where one hip bone is slightly elevated compared to the other. The result of this tilt is a tight QL of the elevated side and a weaker hamstring on the same side. The key is to stretch the QL on the side with the elevation and strengthening the hamstring. Most of the times these two muscles, if not properly positioned, can cause your glutus medius muscle to go weak. Try working on all three, and you should see results in 3 weeks. I had the same problem!
@@AjayTiwari-en9nz Thank you Ajay. I was born with a shorter leg. Does your advice still apply?
@marym8844 If you're born with a structural abnormality, then it does not apply. I am sorry for giving the wrong advice.
@@AjayTiwari-en9nz no problem at all. I really did appreciate the detailed response.🙂
@@marym8844 🙂
Please send the best strength exercise and both both side sitica please strength exercise and flexibility
The hardest part for me is getting glute med to fire instead of tfl
The last exercise you did standing on the stairs is it okay to hold a dumbbell in one hand to add resistance???
You bet, as long as you have good balance! Brad
@@BobandBrad Thank you I'll give it a try with 3 to 5 lbs.
Mmmmm.... You can feel it already
🔥
I'm already laughing
These are great. Any idea why with the final exercise the muscles on the dangling leg side are the ones getting the biggest workout with mainly the muscles around the iliac crest? Am I doing the exercise wrong or is there some other issue?
"I'm on FIRE!"
Bob sounds higher than Hunter
👏🙏
Hope brads ok he was kinda slering a we bit
He has ataxia.
Thanks guys, butt, do none of these exercises have names? Ya know, names!?
LOL, we will try to include names if they have them!
We're not-LOL ing, but thanks. @@BobandBrad
The tall guy always takes advantage of the short one 😂. Only talks, never wants to exercise. 😂
He was recently diagnosed with an illness. Be kind❤
@@tanyaroberts4052 If you don’t have a sense of humor, I cannot help you.
Sorry want to comment about walking with hands clasped behind back. Don't do that. If you fall forward accidentally ,you will fall on your face
What about the main one you forgot about the one where you left your leg on the side but your foot goes more towards the back
I do these in bed every morning. I sleep on a very firm mattress
