Chris Traut How it is handicapped for a Dlineman? Last time I checked all the calls and changes are for the secondary. Watt sacks BUMS, get neutralized vs good teams, never won a Ring much less league MVP. He's good but he is not on LT level
Super Game Jerks I was just about to say that, all the changes that were made hurt the secondary and helped DL play really (ie making the chop block illegal)!
Yes we all know this. This what will Belichick does when speaking about other teams right before playing them. He singles out the best players and heaps on praise on them. I'm guess he hopes to make them complacent. Or at the very least not give any bulletin board material. Which a lot of other teams seam to do.
It's mind control for him. Once those great players he hypes up play against him and get shut down it makes him look better because of his game plan. Also on the flip side if he goes off it validates his statement. Bellichick never loses.
Lt plate an all around game at a position that requires more than dline.not taking away from white.also, reggie white played with better caliber players.can you imagine what lt wouldve done if he played on the eagles
"You cannot have a mount rushmore of football without LT on it." Absolutely 100% spot on. Fittingly it will be made out of "rock" . i'll let myself out.
But not PEDs, the "rock" didn't improve his performance and long term he likely would have been more dominant without, a scary thought. Nice try though. Cowgirls fan?
I was fortunate enough to watch Lawrance Taylor play for my favorite team. I managed to watch probably 96 percent of the snaps he played over his career. Every player has a highlight real that shows their best plays. Some players were lucky enough to have 16-18 highlights in a single season. Lawrance Taylor would regularly make 8-10 explosive game-changing plays in a game. We mostly see him sacking quarterbacks on his highlight reels but, he regularly beat running backs senseless and was constantly deep down the field in coverage on pass plays. Oh and he had 9 interceptions and one was a 98-yard pick 6 in a Thanksgiving day game against the Detroit Lions. This specific episode of Undisputed brought back some great memories.
LT is the greatest OUTSIDE linebacker ever. He's in a league of his own. The ONLY man that even comes close to being compared to him is Derrick Thomas(God Rest His Soul)...
jacob alterman No neither of those two are anywhere close to LT.... There's a reason why he is the ONLY LB to win league MVP!! NFL top 100 of all time he ranks NUMBER 3.....the highest for any defensive player...he was behind Montana and Rice...
jacob alterman Jack and Bobby Bell are great, but they didn't change the game way LT did. Even Shannon Sharpe said it... He made Left Tackles famous, he forced Offensive Coordinators to create new schemes just to try and stop him and the only Defensive 'League' Mvp... c'mon man, be realistic.
Breen Machine what about Rod Woodson,Ronnie Lott and Charles Haley. These guys were also very impressive during there playing career and don't get mentioned enough.
LT was my favorite player and I lived in Wash D.C. I remember LT, Carl Banks, Joe Morris, Phil Simms, Mark Bavaro, and Parcells. Man.. that was one of the best teams I've ever watched in the NFL ever. And I don't think you can compare JJ Watt to LT. JJ Watt doesn't have the playoff credentials to even be mentioned in the same sentence. If he can get a couple of rings then we could start giving him GOAT considerations. Until then, we can't include him with the greats.
Skip always say QB's are the most valuable players. But always blames JJ for his record. Thats man has mastered changing his argument downplay players he doesn't like.
Lawrence Taylor, was actually about 6'3" 250lbs (though they listed him at 243-245 lbs). However, he was incredibly explosive, strong and fast for his size (to go along with his various, many times new techniques), thus creating ridiculous match up problems for anyone player regardless of their size (tackles; backs or TE's could not block him alone)
Chris Brown LT was the type of player that could dominate a whole half by himself or win an entire game by himself and that's hella impressive by a LB.

No matter the topic. He never hides his true feelings. And for that.. I appreciate that brotha. As well as Skip and his sometimes wacky takes on things lol.
@@Matt-sp6vd also LT plays lb so he is in coverage a decent bit he, if he got to rush every play he would have had more than Strahan another great giant
Why does everyone assume Bill meant JJ is better or even as good at LT was? I think we can all agree that jj watt hasn't been the same player from 2 years ago. It's unfortunate but he won't ever play at the same level he had in the past. Those defensive player of the year 2 out of 3 years and then 20+ sacks in 2 years in a row was magical, but he won't do it again.
Hate to say it! But I agree 1000% with Skip you cannot compare them one is really good the other is LEGENDARY!!! Who won games by himself.. Google it 1982 L.T. DID IT
Watt currently one of my favorite players but LT is my favorite player of all time but, it is ZERO Comparison! Von Miller though, YES Von Miller is probably the closest I'm see to LT since Derrick Thomas (RIP). Von Miller also does it in Big Games/Post Season like LT and put the Broncos on his Back and Carried them to a Super Bowl like LT did TWICE! Khalil Mack is coming though he is next up in that conversation as far as comparing and having the impact of LT
Your whole argument was blown out the door when you mentioned Khalil Mack. JJ Watt has done so much more for the NFL than Mack has. Von is the only Superbowl winner and until that changes there is no comparison.
King Sharp if u knew how to read he didn’t say he was a better player lol and yes compared to lt he’s a better comparison then a defensive lineman obviously u don’t know sports my guy
Miller can't stop the run he is not even close to LT! Mack is a MONSTER you can't run at him and if the Raiders could cover someone Mack would average 25 sacks a season! Miller is a great pass rusher but a one trick pony!
Watt is better than miller and way better than mack. The only reason you say von miller instead of watt is because he plays on the broncos, one of the best teams in the nfl. Watt didnt have a chance to get anywhere near the superbowl with those players on his team. Meanwhile denver has probowlers everywhere
TheDCGuitar13 that's what I thought . Exactly .Ray Lewis should also be mentioned . Especially on the Ravens 1st Super Bowl win. He was the main force of that team .
Rodrigo Martinez if he's mentioning Modern players before ray when speaking of all timers you know the beef is real. The fact that he played with him At the height of his powers don't help either.
49ers 8088 they may have went back to it but Shannon was doing all sorts of dissing on ray for disagreeing with him. When that’s your best friend shitting on you regularly on tv the friendship was definitely altered.
JJ Watt is special, and will be a Hall of Famer, but there's levels to this. NO defensive player in NFL history was better than LT, and maybe Reggie White was on his level. I've watched the NFL for over 35 years. Maybe Reggie White. Probably not because he wasn't as mobile. But Reggie was a great leader and he made others around him better, That's about it.
Nissan TitanWarrior Bro, do not discount Ray Lewis. Ray has the ability to completely disrupt an offense with his presence. His speed, strength, toughness and ability to break a man's will to run the ball is second to none. Im referring to the prime Lewis.
You said it Shannon! There was no player as dominant as LT! I watched everyone one of his games as a kid. The Giants were terrible until LT came around and then everything changed.
Worked in medical field( Military) so I do not condone drugs but LT still is the greatest! In Jazz Charlie "Bird" Parker had a drug problem and still there is no one that can play better than "Bird!"
What shannon said was spot on about LT. LT revolutionized the importance of not only the edge rusher, but he changed the importance of the tackle position. JJ Watt is great, but LT is in a class of his own.
LT greatest defensive player in the modern age, hands down, no one close not even late great Reggie White or Bruce Smith. Sad what happened after he retired. Wish you better days LT.
I hate how Skip used the word “overrated” when speaking on JJ Watt. It’s not like JJ is the only player in NFL history to record two seasons with 20+ sacks or anything, especially when getting the QB is your primary objective as a defensive lineman.
Captain Marvel..............Watch the tape. Particularly games against the Redskins so you can see Lawrence Taylor at 240lbs toss 330lb Joe Jacoby to the ground like a rag doll on his way to sacking the quarterback. Watch the tape of the 1988 'Pain Game' vs the New Orleans Saints where Lawrence Taylor had a torn pectoral muscle but managed to get 3 sacks and a 2 forced fumbles to help the Giants win 13-10. JJ Watt is a great player but Lawrence Taylor was born 'standing up'. The tendency in the NFL is to elect worthy football players into the Hall Of Fame, after being retired for 5 years, in their first year of eligibility. When Lawrence Taylor retired they should have given him his yellow jacket the minute he submitted his retirement papers.
Captain Marvel JJ also gets the privilege of picking and choosing the spot he wants to be in making it easier to disrupt the play because the offense can't predict where he's coming from
ByrongammonByron Gammon: Dude. You have amazing football knowledge. Damn. You should replace Skip. But no one can replace Shannon. Sharpe is so passionate of football. Also Shannon is very “ Sharpe “. Dude keep posting....Enjoy reading your posts.
Two completely different players 6'3" 240 VS 6'5" 290?????. LT was a finesse style pass rusher with bullrush player mentality! JJ Watt is a bullrush type pass rusher with some finesse abilities! Let's be real, the Tackles now are bigger, faster, stronger, and have become more technical in their game on average! Watt deals with 340-pound linemen regularly and Taylor, albeit smaller than Watt played against 290-305 pound linemen! LT was a good 3-4 OLB and Watt could be a DE in 3-4 or 4-3. It's a much different game when comparing a player that is standing at the snap as opposed to one who is usually in a 3-point stance during the snap. Their jobs have similarities, but an OLB is also expected to go into pass coverage at times when a DE does rarely! This is like comparing apples to tomatoes; they are the same color, but taste much different!
So glad Shannon mentioned the era. How the game is different both due to the rules and how it effected the style of play. Normally he doesnt. He certainly doesn't when talking about the NBA. Also I don't believe Bill said JJ Watt was better than LT. He's comparing a current GREAT defensive player against possibly the greatest defensive player ever. That's all. Must be a slow news day....but then again this is typical of the media.
1/2 the people posting comments on this video who say JJ WATT is better than LT are the same people who were born after 1995, and let me and those who NFL fans way back then tell you YOU MISSED OUT ON SOMETHING SPECIAL!
Well LT wasn't the only good defensive player on that team they had literally 5 pro bowler defensive players on in team.for like 4 years in a row then had 4 pro bowlers for like 6 years JJ Watt has limited help
How many perennial All-Pros did Lawrence Taylor play with? Harry Carson was a stud, 2x First Team All-Pro. Carl Banks was a good player, 1x First Team All-Pro. Pepper Johnson was a good addition in 1986, 1x First Team All-Pro. But LT was DPOY his FIRST TWO YEARS in the NFL. LT was also League MVP for the 1986 season. Don't use Pro Bowl appearances as a barometer......its basically a popularity contest. Watt has plenty of help on the defensive side of the ball: Whitney Merciless Jadeveon Clowney Brian Cushing
You're too young to know what you're talking about. The Giants were trash before LT got there. He changed the way offenses are run. Watch some film on him.
I wish we had more topics like this on the show. I understand they gotta do the popular news, but it's so much more fun hearing them talk about how players actually perform.
Ya'll realize Belichick is also smarter than both of them right? I think Skip is right. This has that "Michael Jordan buying Barkley jewelry" feel to it.
But who coached Belichick? Thats right --Parcells. The "Coach of the Coach" thought that LT was the BEST.If you see Belichick then what you are actually seeing is actually Parcells' persona.
I have seen both play. I have very little doubt it is LT. If there were intentional grounding penalty for QBs and less rushing attempts by teams which limits the number of passing attempts by the opposing teams, LT will have far more Sacks than what he ended up with which is still remarkably high. If LT played in this current pass first era, he will probably total 20 or more sacks every single season and his best single season sack total might top 30 sacks. Also, I don't believe they kept track of Tackles for loss back then. This stat will probably shed even more light on the matter. He simply wrecked offenses.
Watt is a great player no doubt about it but no way am I going to put him in the same class as LT. LT was just on another level, another beast that goes beyond comprehension.
Is it right to compare: Different position Different rules for players safety Different types of current/ past players (size/speed)? I think its hard to make compare players from different eras..... both awesome,
Two different players two different eras both great in their own right so you can go by stats or what ever you want but the fact remains the NFL has changed in the years between these players and you can not definitely say which one is better without them playing each other and that can't happen
Lizano Lol, hater! The Cowboys had their own house were they would go do the same thing as LT! Guess what? They're considered a dynasty during those years! F.O.H..
If Skip wanted to take the position that J.J. Watt was as good as Lawrence Taylor and I was Shannon Sharp, I"d tell Skip, "Go ahead you can take the whole segment, I've only got one thing to say about it." Then, when Skip was done with his analysis, I"d just tell him, "You're an idiot." Taylor is the reason why offenses moved their best player on the line to the left tackle position. When Watt CHANGES the game THEN we can have a discussion. Until then, there's nothing to talk about.
There is a REASON that, even more than Tyson himself in "Mike Tyson's Punchout" (who *is* actually beatable, it's just next to impossible unless you know the secrets), that Lawrence Taylor was made as the greatest videogame character of all-time in "Techmo Bowl", because he is the greatest LB of all-time (this coming from a diehard Patriots fan who grew up loving LT and despises the Giants now). If you were the Giants, you select LT EVERY play, and sack the opposing QB or run down their RB, EVERY play. If SOMEHOW LT doesn't sack you, and you manage to get the pass off, he runs back 30...60...80 yards and makes the interception, then takes it to the house! And it is IMPOSSIBLE to score an extra point, when you score a TD against the Giants, you settle for 6pts, because he blocks every single extra point you attempt.
Do you agree with Bill Belichick or Skip?
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED they are both beasts
JJ watt is just as dominated as LT
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED JJ Watt is better!
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED Easily agree with Skip. Watt numbers/ dominance will never reach LT status.
Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED say no to drugs
In the thumbnail, Skip look like he getting the world's best under the desk hand job ever

LT might be the greatest football player ever.
World B Free he is
World B Free i wouldn't argue but i could make a argument for Deion sanders
he's definitely in the conversation. it is hard to compare offense to defense tho.
World B Free yea I thought about it for 20 seconds tryna figure out a way but it's pretty hard because how do you rate an offensive linemen
so true bro.
Unfair to JJ to compare him to Taylor. He is a great player but Taylor was the best and most relentless player of all time.

Shawn James theyre both pass rushers
Well jj can play outside
Shawn James outside rushing line backer
He lined up as a pass rusher most of the time just like Watt.
I agree.
OTKP IF MILLER WAS BETTER HE WOULD HAVE 3 DEFENSE OF THE YEAR AWARDS YOU DON'T KNOW SPORTS
I love how Shannon doesent mention Ray Lewis once when talking about all timers lol The beef is real..
TheDCGuitar13 what beef? with Ray Lewis? dude , they are close friends!
49ers 8088 they may have went back to it but Shannon was doing all sorts of dissing on ray for disagreeing with him. When that’s your best friend shitting on you regularly on tv the friendship was definitely altered.
Ray lewis had 850 pounds of defensive tackle in front of him so he didnt have to contebd with blockers.he is not even in the top five
Nissan TitanWarrior
Bro, do not discount Ray Lewis.
If Watt played for the Cowboys Skip would be talkin about how he makes LT look like garbage lol
Chris Abraham yess! that’s right. Most Cowboys fans dislike The Texans anyways for being big rivals in the state
You can't compare the Texans teams to those Giants teams...totally different on offense and defense
What shannon said was spot on about LT. LT revolutionized the importance of not only the edge rusher, but he changed the importance of the tackle position. JJ Watt is great, but LT is in a class of his own.
LT -- Mount Rushmore. Are you kidding? He is MOUNT EVEREST !
LT greatest defensive player in the modern age, hands down, no one close not even late great Reggie White or Bruce Smith. Sad what happened after he retired. Wish you better days LT.
LT is the goat he changed football bar none
I hate how Skip used the word “overrated” when speaking on JJ Watt. It’s not like JJ is the only player in NFL history to record two seasons with 20+ sacks or anything, especially when getting the QB is your primary objective as a defensive lineman.
Lt Was an outside linebacker coming from the side, Watt is a defensive end, coming straight up. A lot harder to get in the backfield.
10 JJ Watts couldn't equal 1 Lawrence Taylor the man dominated the game like no other!!!!!!!!!!!!!☝
That's the same mind trick that Phil Jackson put on Raja Bell when the Los Angeles Lakers play Philadelphia 76ers in the finals. Lol😂😂😂😂
Watt will NEVER be on LT level.. LT literally dictated games at LINEBACKER... nuff said.
Nobody EVER will come close to LT.
I dunno. How many cases of PTSD have been diagnosed amongst QB's that JJ Watt plays against? I rest my case.
He was defensive player of the year and a defensive rookie of the Year 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There will NEVA be another LT
Lol at Joy’s eyes following Shannon back and forth
Ask this question 10 years from now be respectful Atleast let watt finish his career before you compare
Years later now what's ur verdict.?
UrbanSipfly Preach
I hope JJ gets all the way back from that back injury. Inside or outside before the injury he was the best DL since Reggie White.
Watt has plenty of help on the defensive side of the ball:
Whitney Merciless
Jadeveon Clowney
Brian Cushing
You're too young to know what you're talking about. The Giants were trash before LT got there. He changed the way offenses are run. Watch some film on him.
I wish we had more topics like this on the show. I understand they gotta do the popular news, but it's so much more fun hearing them talk about how players actually perform.
I'll take Belichick word on a player before I EVER take skip's word on anything .... JJ watt is special
Mind Elevation He's just not LT special
There is LT....and then everyone else...He was and is the greatest!
LT wouldn't be MVP in this era of football, too much bias towards QBs
If he had the same impact he had back then he would easily be MVP. Not to mention the Giants would have to give him part ownership of the team.
There was bias back then also that's what made LT that special
Shannon compliments Skip perfectly for this show. These two together make GREAT television.
Ya'll realize Belichick coached LT right? I Think he knows what he's talking about.
Did he coach JJ Watt too? He can't make a comparative analysis from the standpoint of someone that coached both.
He doesn't
Ya'll realize Belichick is also smarter than both of them right? I think Skip is right. This has that "Michael Jordan buying Barkley jewelry" feel to it.
But who coached Belichick? Thats right --Parcells. The "Coach of the Coach" thought that LT was the BEST.If you see Belichick then what you are actually seeing is actually Parcells' persona.
I think he's just saying that so he didn't give JJ Watt extra motivation for their game. Mind games.
I'd take Luke Keuckly over watt any day
Is it right to compare:
Different position
Different rules for players safety
Different types of current/ past players (size/speed)?
I think its hard to make compare players from different eras..... both awesome,
Watt is like Kyrie, dominating individual who doesn't contribute to his team's success
His team isn't successful because their offense has been garbage especially at the QB position
James Black Texans record isn’t substantially better with or without watt..Melo is a team killer
Two different players two different eras both great in their own right so you can go by stats or what ever you want but the fact remains the NFL has changed in the years between these players and you can not definitely say which one is better without them playing each other and that can't happen
I wanna see Watt play on coke and see his numbers!
Lizano actually playing on coke can give you a heart attack.
Lizano ur heart will literally burn out bro. It's illogical.
You're clearly white .
Lizano Lol, hater! The Cowboys had their own house were they would go do the same thing as LT! Guess what? They're considered a dynasty during those years! F.O.H..
😂😂😂😂
If Skip wanted to take the position that J.J. Watt was as good as Lawrence Taylor and I was Shannon Sharp, I"d tell Skip, "Go ahead you can take the whole segment, I've only got one thing to say about it." Then, when Skip was done with his analysis, I"d just tell him, "You're an idiot." Taylor is the reason why offenses moved their best player on the line to the left tackle position. When Watt CHANGES the game THEN we can have a discussion. Until then, there's nothing to talk about.
But put jj watt back when Taylor played before left tackles could run 4.7 4.8 40 times
william damrom Back when football was a runningback driven league with less opportunities to get sacks you mean?
You dumb, lol
