If you ask anyone, they’d love for their team to have a good, non problematic on and off the court leader that delivers two Super Bowls. He’s not transcendent, he’s not an all time great, but he delivered

@@bingevintage8124 Some of his best seasons he spent throwing to guys that werent even top of the league. You can say he is average, but you could also make the same arguement for many QBs that you have to "build around them" for them to perform.

The numbers don’t lie lol he’ll be in . He wasn’t great all 16 years but those 2 rings will be his ticket . That defense who shutdown Brady IS what won those super bowls thou . And those 2 VERY LUCKY catches by Tyree and Manningham .
@@kennyg5242 Sorry. Being lucky isn't qualification for the HoF. You see, a player actually has to be good and Eli was average at best. Trust me, you don't want to go there.
So we basically saying Eli shouldn’t be in the Hall on a bunch of what if’s? I don’t think that’s far. If Brady would have but he didn’t win. So let’s not take it away from Eli. He should be getting credit for making a big pass in the big game. Did Brady really define anything that QB do he is just a pocket passer. He didn’t change anything
SaLtyN00b Deion also said you should get if you dominated your position and it's safe to say, Tom brady dominated. The rings and numbers speak for themselves
Excellent points. Although i dont think you can really redefine the QB position at this point. Bradys skill was not as good as the other hall of fame QBs but he did what he needed to win over and over. The other guys i mentioned were more accurate and consistently had games where they shredded the other team with dozens of passes. Brady had a fee years where he did that too. He would just throw 10 or 15 times in a row and the other team couldnt stop it. But moon and breese and marino did that all the time.
SaLtyN00b I think they were more arguing that he shouldn’t get in on the fact that he had an average career record of 117-117 and was never a dominant player at his position, despite his longevity. This coming from a Giants fan
Roger Pope Troy Aikman never dominated 94 wins 75 losses. He was carried by a running game and defense. Wins and loses in regular season is more a team stat. I think the hall of fame is personal stats. He is 7th in best in yards and TD for QB. He beat Brady 2 times with lucky or great passes. Everyone trying say it was the defense Micheal Strahan couldn’t do it without Eli. Remember the Ravens destroying that team? Not saying he is First ballad hall of fame. There is QBs that never won anything that are in Jim Kelly. If they are in I think he should be some day.
Noooo some guys who don't deserve that gold jacket as we speaking smh the hall of of Fame should be the like skip said the cream of the crop less than 1% of players you need to be part of a revolution at your position and do something that replicated for years make whole generations modeled after you that a hall of fame caliber player and like skip said he should get a silver jacket for the hall of fame of very good
Ben Roethlisberger’s first ring was handed to him: 9/21 122 yds 0 TDS 2 INTs: Rate: 22.6 (lowest by a SB winning qb). THAT is more along for the ride. Eli lead 2 TD drives in the 4th quarter of his 1st SB
How bout the fact that he made the tackle against the colts to save a TD and get them in the super bowl. And the 2nd one it sure as well wasn’t handed to him. Made one of the all time great game winning throws of all time.
Then Hall of Fame lose its meaning. It used to be for a game changer player, a era dominant player, with outrageous personal stat. And now because he just beat the greatest QB ever he should he in? (Giant defense that beat Brady btw)
IMO, he's there because we really can't tell the story of the NFL without him. That guarantee, plus the actual Super Bowl win (even though I think Snell should've been the MVP), is forever sealed in NFL lore.
My thoughts after watching this: As a Giants fan, I believe he deserves to be in the HOF. As a non-biased fan, I really don't think so. But I will be glad if he ever does.
@@drexlspivey3047 Eli didn't beat Brady. The Giants defense did. How many times in 2007 and 2011 did 17 or even 19 points beat the Patriots? Zero, if I recall correctly. But, then the defense holds Brady to one of his worst games of the year and Eli still barely manages to win. Eli was just a long for the ride. If it was a 35-38 shootout, then you have a legitimate argument that he outperformed Brady. Barely outscoring him on his worst day of the year is not impressive. Everyone says that the defense was a liability. They weren't. In both postseasons combined, they gave up an average of 15.1 points/game, none over 20, and an opposing passer rating of 74. And Eli still barely managed to win on lucky last second plays. The idea that he was the MVP is so misleading. Without the defense doing what they did, both those "great passes" are mere footnotes in a blowout if just an average Patriots team shows up.
He was 78-57 with two Super Bowls rings. His stats were watered down since 2013. He had one more good year in 2016 but the giants didn’t help him since 2013.

I actually normally love Skip’s HOF test, BUT Skip forgets Eli put up 2 TD drives (the first QB since Joe Montana to do that in the SB) against the Pats in the fourth quarter at the 2007 SB (he hit Tyree on a play-action pass to go up 10-7) and I am positive that he was the first QB to score a TD at the closing seconds of the SB when a field goal wouldn’t tie the game. We take for granted that Eli balled out in the playoffs. In 2011, the defense was ranked 32nd, gave up 49 points to the Saints in the dome, and our run offense was ranked dead last. How many guys LOST with more?? (Tom Brady, Bret Favre, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers all lost with more every year) I remember 2011, that defense got it together because it believed Eli could deliver. No matter how bad that team was (and we know he never had a great team because the Giants gave Eli all their money), its players always believed it had a shot because #10 was under center. That’s just objectively true.
I guess the Giants drafting obj wasn't very good was it. The great Bill Belichick defense gave up 41 to the Eagles. The 33 points to New England Patriots put up in super bowl 52 was the highest score for a losing team.
2 TD drives in the 4th quarter? That's great! What did he do for the other 85% of the game to overcome the Patriots average of 37 and 32 points per game each season?

Im a die hard cowboys fan, Eli deserves to be in the HoF! period no doubts. Those 2 SuperBowl runs are two of the greatest Playoff runs of all time. Look at his SuperBowl runs vs his Brothers. Look at who he beat to get to Brady each time. Eli and the Giants was the last team into the playoffs each time and went on the road and beat everyone and then knocked off the GOAT twice and got SuperBowl MVP. idc about his 117-117 record, Nolan Ryan is considered by most as one of the greatest pitchers of all time and he was mostly a 50-50 pitcher and had almost as many walks as strikeouts as well. It happens, but he wont when it mattered too. Same with Eli, plus for Eli, he never missed a start to injury, he got smashed for years with garbage olines and never got hurt. if it wasnt for 1 terrible coach benching him he would have had more starts in a row than he does. He was tough as nails and was dependable and even as the end could throw it and make the throws that some guys now cant. Put him in.
Seriously? Did you watch a majority of his career or just about 10 of 234 games? Those other 222 games are nothing special and definitely not worthy of the Hall.
Top 10 in yards, top 10 in passing tds, 2 Super Bowl MVP’s, with one of the greatest runs by a qb ever and was never injured throughout his entire 16 year career, I think he is for sure a hall of famer
Also led the league in interceptions lots of times, never led in TDs, was never MVP or even all-pro. He only got the stats he did because he played in a pass heavy offense for 16 seasons. When ur basically a meme for 5/6 years of ur career then u rlly don’t deserve to be in the hall of fame
Daniel Matchett you said pass heavy offense I now can’t believe anything you say. Eli Manning didn’t have a pass happy offense until His prime was over.
Rivers, Romo, McNabb, Stafford, ...lots of QBs in this era you could probably argue were better QBs, but this is the Hall of FAME, not the hall of great stats. Eli took 'em to the show and won twice, so yes, deserves to be there.
There is no comparison. Romo was especially better, but he was never carried by the defense. It was all Romo or they didn't win. Eli was carried by a defense that only allowed 15.1 points/game, no game over 20 points, and an opposing passer rating of only 74. And Eli still barely manage to win 5/8 games. And 2 of those were overtime games in which for both overtimes combined, he was 3/7, 17 yards, 1 sack for -10 yards, so 7 attempts, 7 yards. And he's given credit for both wins. And even if it was all Eli in both SBs (which it clearly wasn't), SB wins should be the cherry on the cake. Not the whole cake.
Wait a minute you're saying so because Eli did not miss his throw and if Tom Brady wouldn't have missed.... Are you kidding me the point is Eli didn't miss and Tom Brady did twice quit taking his credit away and giving it to the defense.... so he outplayed the Patriots defense Brady didn't out play the Giants defense

Eli doesn't have the credentials. I'm a Giants fan, honestly his number's don't warrant it. What Eli has are the moments. In my opinion the Tyree throw is the moment in Superbowl history. On that he'll get in. I hope he does, as a fan.
It's not just the two Super Bowl wins. Its about an outstanding career in combination with those Super Bowl runs. Eli still holds the record for the most passing yards in a single postseason and only Tom Brady and Joe Montana have more postseason 4th quarter comebacks.
Just a simple question. Is a QB likely to have more yards in 3 or 4 games? The best QBs usually have a first round bye. So, let's be fair and compare the average of any QB that played 3 or 4 games. Eli suddenly is no longer #1. He's not even in the top 10. He's 14. That's a big drop. His yards/attempt put him at 19th. Once again, below average results add up if given enough chances. Brady came within 100 of breaking that record. Twice. In only 3 games. About 5 others were within 200, an easily attainable goal in today's league. Stafford was within 20 on about 30 fewer attempts. This is a good example of Eli's career. The headline sounds really good, until the facts are examined. His whole career is a literal smokescreen of great headlines that are simply a half truth at best.
@@tomknapp6194 Of course a QB is more likely to have more yards in 4 postseason games than 3. But here are some of the QBs who had at least one postseason of 4 games: Jim Kelly, John Elway, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner and Matt Stafford. Yet it's Manning who holds that particular record.
@@citizenghosttown @citizenghosttown There is something you are seriously overlooking. Eli's yards/attempt was 7.5. The list I'm looking at only goes up to 28 and there is no Eli. Oh, yeah, #28 is at 8.0 yards/attempt, so below average Eli is probably around 50th all time in that stat. He literally has this record simply because he had more attempts by a wide margin than the other QBs. There is no magic to throwing a lot more than everyone else for below average results. For this group, 7.5 is below average. And that's the story of Eli's career. He has great headlines that tell a half truth at best. When the facts are examined, most of the time it is just an outright lie, like when they said something like, "Eli Leads Giants to SB Win Over Brady" He did no such thing either time. The defense did all the heavy lifting and Eli got all the credit for basically 2 passes. He would literally get credit for a win when he did nothing on the game winning drive. When they lost, anything and everything was blamed, but not Eli. And outside of his iron man streak, the rest of his below average career comes with a huge asterisk. And it does not paint a pretty picture. And I notice you didn't touch the fact that Brady almost broke Eli's record in 3/4 of the games it took Eli. Do you really think that if Brady had a 4th game, he wouldn't easily have that record? Twice?
@@tomknapp6194 Yup. Some of Eli's stats are not so impressive. But here's the problem. You can't, on one hand, claim that Eli's boosters are looking at only half the story and then claim that Eli won 2 Super Bowls with 2 passes. That's not a serious argument - it's a fraction of the story. The defense carried him? Hardly. In 2011 especially. He took a team with a mediocre defense and the worst running game in the NFL and carried the team on his back. Bottom line is that he has a very unique resume and was, arguably, the most clutch postseason QB in NFL history. Check out the analytics over at 538. (You can pretend he got lucky, but nobody gets THAT lucky) That's why he'll waltz into the Hall of Fame. As for Brady, it's not as if he never had a 4 game post season. He did. There have been dozens of QBs -- including several HOF QBs - who had 4 game post seasons. But it's Eli who holds that particular postseason record. And besides, it's not as if anyone is claiming Eli's anywhere near as good as Brady. But he was at at least as good as several QBs in the Hall.
The only thing Eli got going for him is his 2 rings against Brady, other than that his career and stats are the definition of average. If he does make the HOF he is NOT a first ballot talent.
I actually agree with skip on this one, I mean if you look at Eli's stats they're pretty pedestrian and could even be considered lower than average at the time, but that always comes back to how much winning matters in a players legacy.
Eli was literally a below average QB. In his 16 years, his passer rating was below the NFL average 9 times. In 5 of the other 7, he was no more than 3.8 over the average, or still just average. In only 2 of 16 years, he was not just barely above average. Something else to think about is that he was 2-0 vs Brady in the SB. But, he was also 117-117 against the Jay Cutlers, Carson Palmers, Rex Grossmans, Andy Daltons, and dozens of other average/below average QBs. In fact, his yards and TDs per attempt are exactly the same as Andy Dalton. But, Dalton had a better completion percentage and lower interception percentage. So, Eli was literally just a worse version of Dalton, who most would not think was better than average.

Yes he should be. The giants have failed Eli at just about every turn and still he found a way to beat the evil empire TWICE and won MVP both times. On top of that he is top ten in all major passing categories. And he’s not the only quarterback he wasn’t an all pro and made the hall of fame, Troy Aikman was never an all pro but he made the hall of fame. Also Eli has made more or equal pro bowls to a few different hall of fame quarterbacks. For example Terry Bradshaw only made 3 pro bowls. Ken stabler made 4 pro bowls same as Eli and both of them are in the hall of fame. The final reason is that Eli is just an awesome dude of the field hence wining the 2016 Walter Payton man of the year award. And I rest my case.
The 2011 Patriots defense was ranked 31st in the league so he didn't beat anybody good everyone says the Patriots had two great defense when Eli beat the Patriots play them 2007 they will ranked forth that's a great defense 2011 ranked 31st they shouldn't have been there
Eli Manning played 16 seasons, and the Giants only made the postseason 6 times; thats bad. And of those 6 seasons, he o ly had a bye-week once. He was never mentioned as an MVP candidate in any season.
Skip, if you have to take away a players stat to prove a point, you’ve lost the argument. The fact that you are trying to say “what if this happened” or “if this didn’t happen...” means that you don’t really have a fair point in the side of the argument you are trying to defend. Stop taking away players stats to prove a point it’s absurd and not accurate at all.
O K His stats aren’t that good lmfao... of course he’s high up on cumulative stats, he’s been playing in the passing era for 15 mediocre years (Look at Frank Gore is he at all comparable to Barry Sanders?), if you adjust stats for era and compare it to his contemporaries he’s nothing special at all
@@harryheinrich5626 frank gore at least gets respect because he was the only weapon on bsd san fran teams and still moved the rock. Also, durability in a position with the shortest shelf life. Even then though gore is super debatable. However, that durability is what gets him talked about and why hes breaking records.
That's was not the case at all. Tell me one team in the last 20 years that's made the playoffs with a bottom tier defense? Of course any team is gonna get blown out with a bad defense that's common knowledge. Look at how many game winning drives Eli has had and tell me the names you see around him but cant carry a team in close games???
Art Vandalay the chiefs last year? Like I said, compiling volume mediocre stats is not impressive. This isn’t the same as Lebron James or Tom Brady, who have had an extended period of GREATNESS, playing for a long time mediocrely is not impressive.... Also, even though it sounds like I’m bad mouthing Frank Gore I’m not. It’s just simply he isn’t as good as Barry Sanders and him continuing to compile stats won’t ever change that. We can’t just look at volume stats & just say that’s good enough for the HOF, his whole career isn’t HOF worthy.
@@harryheinrich5626 on the note of gore, i don't think anyone is placing him in the top 10 HBs of all time purr from skill. Because he's nowhere near as good as them. But, thr durability argument works for him (and mainly him not Eli) because of thr demand from the position in physicality on a day in day out basis. That's not an argument you can make for QBs unless that QB is cam.
That's just stupid. You can't compare qbs of Stabler's era to today's qbs. Different game back then. Stabler was one of the best qbs in the game during the time he played. He led the raiders to 5 consecutive conference championships and a super bowl win. He led the raiders to a 68-25 record during his time there. He was the AFC MVP 1974 and 1976 and a member of the 1970s All-Decade team. By your logic Bradshaw, Staubach and Aikman probably shouldn't be in the hall.
@@user-sb1vz9pv5y @Michael Jackson I never compared him to anyone. Where'd you get that from? He does have a weak career stat line hence the many years of resistance to letting him in and your copy/paste job from Wikipedia doesn't change that. Now people think Jim Plunkett belongs in with even weaker numbers but alas he has two Superbowl rings so that warrants induction right? Ok whatever I guess. As far as Bradshaw, Staubach, and Aikman goes, yes I think they belong in the HOF. Your hero Troy Aikman was an above average QB on a great team. His career numbers are actually slightly lower than Jay Cutler's who likey won't ever make it onto a ballot for voting. Ok now I compared two QB's from different eras. Yes Troy played in a rougher era when head injuries weren't taken as seriously as they are today but he still has weaker numbers than Cutler but since he did lead that great team he deserves to be in. Hey maybe Cutler deserves to be inducted when he's eligible? After we get Jim Plunkett in, let's campaign for Cutler and while we're at it change the name of the Hall of Fame to the Hall of Good.
@@ronaldshiffman9120 So is Jim Plunkett. How about all the other average QB's that led their teams to Superbowl glory ( lots of them ). Let them in too? Statistics do matter that's why those QB's aren't in. Eli Manning does have hall worthy numbers IMO. Look up two time champion Jim Plunkett and decide for yourself if he belongs in as many feel he does.
I love how they leave out so much in their "debate". Eli is top 10 in every category that matters to a QB. Top 10 in yards thrown, touchdowns, and completions. Only 4 QBs in NFL history have won more Super Bowls than him. He made the careers of Mario Manningham, Victor Cruze, Hakeem Nicks, Steve Smith, Plaxico Burress, Odell Beckham, and Jeremy Shockey. EVERY one of those guys left the Giants and their careers folded. Odell has a long career ahead of him, but he's not looking so hot anymore! He's in good company though! All those guys mentioned above had great seasons with Eli at QB. What do you expect when you have a QB that's top 10 all time at every important QB metric. He's going to have lots of people putting up big stats. A hall of famer makes everyone around him better. That's exactly what Eli did. 1st ballot hall of famer. The Giants roster was mishandled for MANY years after his two Super Bowls. Every GIants fan will tell you how terrible Jerry Reese became at managing a roster. He let his offensive line regress and never fixed it. Giants fans screamed out for years: "Fix the O-line! Get rid of Ereck Flowers! He's terrible!". They rode that wave for years and Eli payed for it. The O-line was so bad that they had to navigate an entire offense around it because Eli was getting touched on just about every play. So they made an offense that would get the ball out of his hands on every play within 3 seconds. It completely limited his game.
Stats don’t matter when quarter backs cant get a ring. Now when a QB has rings and is top ten all time in comebacks, Passing Yards & Touchdowns 2-0 Against Brady and Bill B in the SB. He isn’t a H.O.F. Has to be the dumbest thing ever to question. saints and packers should have dumped their quarterbacks long ago because Brees hasn’t won since 09 and Rogers 10. Longer time, better talented teams and one less ring then Eli. Nuff said
Eli should absolutely be in the HOF. 2x super bowl champ AND super bowl MVP. 4x Pro Bowler. 7th in Passing yard ALL TIME. 8th in TDs ALL TIME. The dude had a overly successful career for an NFL QB.
Hall of fame is a place where legends of the game belong..at no point was Eli considered a legends except for beating Brady twice in the Super Bowl..other than that he was probably the 5-6 best qb of his time behind Brady, Rodgers, Peyton, Brees and Big Ben..
@@polloramoskz3 but you just ruined your own argument, he was a legend twice, his SB runs were defined by his 4th qauter comebacks. His throws to manningham and tyree are considred two of the best plays inf NFL history. Is that not legendary? what shannon said speaks for itself. Only 5 qbs to win 2 superbowls and 2 mvps and Eli is one of them. If Farve is a HOF for being great in the regular season and mediocre to terrrible in the playoffs, than Eli is HOF for being medoicre/terrible during the regular season and clutch in the playoffs. Sure talk about the playoff runs where they lost it was his fault, but the ones they won were also because of him. The HOF is for people who trancend football and those two superbowl runs do that no question and thats HoF worthy. Ask Tom Brady if hes a HoF oh wait, they did and he said yes. No one cares about the regular season, when its 10 years down the line.
@@richardwolf9149 Just one point (out of many)..... Eli was not clutch in the playoffs. Maybe you forgot about his other 4 "SB runs"? Let me summarize: 4 playoffs, 4 games, 4 losses, 3 crushing defeats, 1 shutout, a combined 3 TDs, 7 ints, a 54 passer rating, and 1 game over 169 yards. I don't see "Mr. Clutch" there. Where is he? The main difference is that those times he was not carried by the defense. Eli literally never beat a playoff team that scored more than 20 points. Just let that sink in a bit........
those 2 runs were clutch and for the HoF today thats all u need, they also beat a 18-0 team which will never happen again, and thier rushing in 2011 was ranked 32nd and eli had almost 5,000 yds i think like 4900 or something
@@richardwolf9149 So, basically you want to put him in the HoF for 2 of 8,119 pass attempts to score 17 and 21 points against Patriots teams that were averaging 35 (2007) and 32 (2011) per game and call him the hero and worthy of the Hall? Eli literally had to rely on Brady (2007 and 2011), Romo (2007), and Favre (2007), all pro bowl QBs those years, to have their worst game of the year and he still needed a slew of lucky plays to barely pull out a last second wins against teams that didn't score over 20 points when those same teams averaged 35 against the very same defense in the regular season. And all this was because of Eli? Please elaborate. To me, it sounds like the if the defense didn't finally do their job, the Giants 21 (2007 vs Cowboys), 23 (2007 vs Packers), 17 (2007 vs Patriots), and 21 (2011 vs Patriots), would have all been blowouts and those "clutch plays" (I'm sure Eli closed his eyes on the first one, maybe both) would have just been little footnotes on lucky plays that didn't matter.
Beating a Dynasty in the Super Bowl TWICE and being named Super Bowl MVP both times out of it is First Ballot Hall of Fame worthy. After all, the most important prerequisite of being a Hall of Famer is that *the history of the game CANNOT be written without that player.* No, I'm not making this up. That actually is part of the criteria for being a Hall of Famer. Can anyone give me a convincing argument on how you can write the history of the NFL without beating the Dynastic New England Patriots twice in the Super Bowl, one of which spoiled a Perfect Season literally at the last minute, and being named MVP in both games? Anyone? I thought so.
Dion R so you can be mediocre for your entire career and just have 2 memorable runs in the playoffs that erase all of that? 🤔 Eli will make it to the HOF but it’s questionable whether a mediocre QB like him deserves it
@@jayjones9225 Well if you're mediocre in generic games but go lights out in 2 superbowl runs, I'd say you're deserving. After all, someone who's great for 16 regular season games, but chokes in the playoffs shouldn't be in there either, regardless of stats
@House of Guards Eli Manning was amazing too. In his recent years, he's thrown for a ton of interceptions and it's a shame that those years will overshadow his years when he was in his prime and the years when the Giants weren't a dysfunctional organization.
African 1st Congolese 2nd Steve largent is one of the best receivers of all time, give the man his respect. Yes TO is better but to call largent a bum is blasphemous.
Omni Pepper Eli was legendary on the 2SB runs. He beat Romo, Farve, and Brady in 2007 and Matty Ice, Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith and Brady in 2011. When he was needed- he was there. Case closed.
Eli deserves his spot on the hall of Fame and Eli is a very humble person he never talks about himself. I have a lot of respect for Eli and he was one of my favorite qbs
@JL-CptAtom Giants were down, in the 4th qtr in both Superbowls (after 2 miracle throws, according to you), to the best QB of all time (Brady), and the greatest coach of all time (Belichek), in the biggest game on the biggest stage. He rallied his team, and won those games. All the defense had to do, was keep New England at bay, which they did. Don't lose sight of thr fact that the Giants were down, late in those games. The defense was not pitching a shutout here.
Eli has a very small window to get in. He retired a couple years early to get to the eligible line ahead of Brady, Breese, Roger's, rothlisberger.... he has like a 2 year window or else he sits for a decade

That play in the first super bowl was mostly luck. Great play yes but on David tyrees part. Also Eli missed the playoffs most of the time in his prime. He shouldn’t get in the hall of fame

I’m a 49er fan , I’ll talk about Eli Manning and his 2 rings for decades to come . He’s a big part of NFL history.
He had 2 of the greatest super bowl wins in history. I'm not a giants fan at all but he beat a legendary team with undefeated Brady and Moss. It's not the hall of statistics.
He beat the best twice in epic fashion! He went from 0 and 7 to get the wild card and beat Tom Brady was MVP 2 times. This question is already answered
Only reason they'll talk about it is because they beat Tom Brady and the Patriots. Not because Eli and the Giants were a dominant force in the league.
You are going to talk about how a below average QB was carried by the defense through 2 postseasons?
@@tomknapp6194what? The man was clutch in both of those playoff runs. Look at the opposition he played. He also had two of the best throws (and catches) in superbowl history

Eli seems to fit that bill.

@NatarisX lmaoooooo 🤣🤣🤣
But he is famous, like all good football players. Are all good football players hall of famers? They're all known, but you have to be absolutely exceptional to deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Peyton does. Brady does. Eli? Maybe.
I guess all big name New York players should be in the Hall of Fame then. Mark Sanchez was once one of the most famous QBs in the NFL, mainly because he played in big market New York.
If Joe Namath is in the HOF then both Eli and me belong in the HOF
Exactly. To be in the Hall of Fame does not mean a player is the best or one of the best.
As if football were not a team sport.
@@johniec5282 that's exactly what it means though or everyone would be in it. Also you should read up on him. He was better than his numbers indicate and his persona transcended the sport. It's a reason he was called Broadway Joe.
@Mountain Boy Well, then Hall of Fame is a misnomer, it should be Hall of most popular,
@Mountain Boy That is exactly my point. It is what should mean, but in actuality it is not.
Namath should not be a Hall of Famer according to the correct criteria.
I guess not every player is a Montana or L.T .
No, because namath isn't in for his production. He changed the game through style and promotion. His character brought viewers to the sport. Manning is both boring AND good, but not great.

You're a Patriots fan if you speak this way.
Eli stayed playing too long, watered down his numbers. Should've retired way sooner. That's it.

4x pro bowl in 16 years? Do you seriously consider that to be a positive?
2x SB MVP? Where would those trophies be if the defense didn't hold Patriots teams that were averaging over 30 points per game to 14 and 17 points?
12x 20 TD passing season? That's because he threw A LOT! His TD percentage (TDs/100 attempts) was top 10 a meager 5 times in 16 years.
And once you factor in attempts, that 7th all time yards turns into 93rd all time yards/attempt. Behind such notables as Jay Cutler, Dante Culpepper, Rich Gannon, Baker Mayfield, Marc Bulger, Chad Pennington, and Ryan Tannehill.
The New York Giants defense was rank 27th overall not 32nd. The New England Patriots defense is rank 31st overall in 2011.
Skip with his "what ifs..." if we replace Eli with Dak hypothetically he'd be singing a different tune. Guranteed

I actually agree with skip on this one, I mean if you look at Eli's stats they're pretty pedestrian and could even be considered lower than average at the time, but that always comes back to how much winning matters in a players legacy.
Yup we beat Brady twice 😎 that should count for a lot 😂

Jim plunkett won 2 super bowl also he's not in the HOF
2 Super Bowls
2 Super Bowl MVPS
7th all-time in passing yards
7th all-time in passing touchdowns
What more is there to think about?
Nothing
2nd or 3rd Ballot Hall of Famer
Exactly, there is no argument lol
Kaleb Ward hes also 2nd highest game streak not missing a game
how subpar his career was outside of 2 SB runs where the team was 8-8
@bepaetzold 11 of the top 15 in INT are in 2 Hall and 1 of the 4 not in is P Manning. So very obviously they voters dont care
Quite possibly the most iconic debate in the history of Undisputed!
You can't tell the story of the NFL without mentioning the story of how the undefeated Patriots lost to Eli and the Giants. HOFer for sure
Not at all...and what you said is 1 of the dumbest things ever...his numbers alone say hes not HoFer.
@@BerryMckHawkener you mean top 10 all time passing yards, Completions, and passing TDs is not Hall of fame numbers
@@TheBouShea Hes a Patriots fan. No logic in his thinking
Dev Lalwani is Colin kap a hall of famed?
jeremy smith yes he leads the league in career ending plays
Eli is a standout amongst his peers. He took down the goat. Shannon thank you for standing up for my QB!
When they finally let Ken Stabler and his unimpressive numbers in, they lowered the bar for future candidates in my opinion.
They felt guilty because Stabler had CTE, and had just died
Statistics don't mean diddly. Winning 2 super bowls means Eli is a two time champion. That means something.
Yes, he does belong in the HOF. He had a perfectly respectable regular season career and beat the greatest ever TWICE on the biggest stage.
Jonathan Straka he isn’t the GOAT it’s that he has a bunch of rings
Thats the whole point of the game. he is the GOAT
He has 366 td to 244 ints, you just write anything on here huh? And all the qbs you named that still puts him in the top ten
Jonathan Straka Who’s the greatest ever? Wait you’re talking about Brady? Lmao yea ok
Deion nailed it!!
He just took away one his rings and MVP with a, well if he just catches the ball....ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDIN ME.
Also as Eagles fan this argument theyre making is also why Cunningham should be in Canton he reinvinted the game.
No its not
Being Super Bowl MVP at QB is not that big of an achievement. If u can win the game, Anything short of a horrendous performance will grant you the MVP
Knock it off if he in then my friend you should be too

Eli deserves his spot on the hall of Fame and Eli is a very humble person he never talks about himself. I have a lot of respect for Eli and he was one of my favorite qbs
Below average QB carried by the defense. Nothing special about him and he should never be in the HoF.
18-1, will be the record people will remember Eli for 100yrs from now. #HOF 1st ballot.
@JL-CptAtom that's still a lot of talking. Eli is linked to Brady's legacy forever, let that settle in for a bit.
Never missed a game, never missed a game.nobody can say that
