      This is the correct answer. Tom Brady is the best QB ever no doubt, but if the goal is to win 1 Super Bowl over the course of the players career, your best bet is to take Lawrence Taylor. Yes it’s a QB’s league and if you can get an elite QB and support him you may have a better chance at winning multiple. But if I have LT then I know there will come a time where he can cancel out a great QB (and the run game as well). We saw what Von Miller did to Cam newton or what strahan and the giants D like did to Tom Brady. Or the ravens in 2000 where Ray Lewis had the Defense on point and they cancelled out the QB’s they played. Even current day NFL, I would bet that the 49ers are going to win a Super Bowl in the next 10 years because one of these years Bosa will be able to cancel out the QB’s the niners play.

      @@jasonjanisewski78 see that's my thing. I rank receivers on more than just their peak. Moss was easily the most dominant but what happened after his athletic ability went away. And considering Moss couldn't run the entire route tree which hurt him down the line. Larry and Steve Smith had some the the single greatest playoff runs for Receivers ever and both of them could/are (steve/larry) still play at a high level. What was your entire career, not just him at his peak. Larry and Steve at older ages were still more helpful to their teams success. Moss was amazing but eventually didnt matter when his prime was over. Steve Smith if he kept playing could easily be number 2 in receiving yards with Larry soon to be there.

    I have to say the greatest is LT.
    I don’t question Brady and Rice’s greatness, but their positions are dependent on one another. Jerry Rice would not be Jerry Rice without having Joe Montana and Steve Young throwing him balls. Tom Brady had great receivers and great defenses. I believe defensive players can have a greater impact on games and it begins and ends with LT.

    • @byronsmith3152
      @byronsmith3152 2 года назад +1

      I do not think you understand how good those entire defenses were with LT. While I agree he was a beast, Jerry is just on another level over all.; The fact that Jerry did what he did after leaving the Niners proves your statement to be incorrect. Not to mention look at the games he had with back up QB's at the helm as well. Look at it this way, Jerry helped Young get into the HOF. It is usually the other way around with QB's being the better player. That means if you pick Jerry first, he then makes your QB better instantly, and that then increases the value of your offense. So while LT was dominant, he just is not on the same level over all.

      Objectively wrong? A single defensive player can not impact the game better or more than a QB. Just based on the nature of the game. In the case of Tom Brady, he's the pinnacle of a QB's ability to impact and win a game.

    • @cristiandelvillar3121
      @cristiandelvillar3121 4 месяца назад

      @@tb109987 a lot of that was contingent on where he played and who he played for and with. Genius defensive mind and arguably the greatest coach of all time, HOF corner, HOF kicker, weak division, tuck rule call. Defenses were top 5 for all 3 of his early titles. His early success had a lot less to do with the abilities of a young Brady. Who’d you take for an entire run? Brady easily. But start an arbitrary team with? LT by far. It didn’t matter what you surrounded LT with, he elevated your defense immensely and great defense has been proven to win more games than great offense. The Giants hadn’t made the playoffs in 18 years despite signing fine offensive talent and having Harry Carson for a bit. That team was so inept and division so strong they just couldn’t break through. As a rookie and as a linebacker, LT led them to the playoffs instantly. They were champions within 5 years despite mediocre offensive pieces (I love Mark Bavaro but no one on that offense is in Hall contention and Phil Simms was not as good as people remember). To take that team from cellar dwellers for 18 years to the postseason, to title contenders and then to champions while you’re the ROTY, 3x DPOY and MVP of the league AS A LINEBACKER, you’re the best young career. Rice and Brady didn’t have a better first 6 seasons than LT did. Brady barely threw a pass as a rookie. Didn’t win MVP until his 8th season. I get 3 rings but again, a lot of that had to do with his defense performing phenomenally against Peyton in 03 & 04 (games that Brady wasn’t necessarily stellar but got the job done), tuck rule in 01 and Vinatieri’s ice cold veins in 01 & 03. LT took an okay roster and underperforming franchise to a 14-2 record and a Super Bowl by his 6th season in the league and prior to his arrival they couldn’t make the playoffs with Fran Tarkenton under center.

      EDIT: it's a team sport give Jerry a quarterback equal to Brady's receivers would he have had success then would his godly stats be the same and would he be in the conversation no he wouldn't sorry

In this case, because he thinks Michael Irvin would catch a slant pass on 3rd and 7 in cold weather at Philadelphia better than Jerry Rice (not even sure if that's accurate), that supersedes the fact that Jerry Rice has basically doubled Michael Irvin's production both in the regular season and the playoffs.
