    What about Jr Seau? All Jr Seau life according to teammates, coaches friends, neighbors, and most importantly Jr Seau family all said that he was an amazing man... loving, caring, funny, non violent guy and did amazing things in his community. Then towards the end of his long career started not being him self. Started to get depressed, started to always be angry... then violent with him self and others. Eventually committed suicide, CTE is very real people, whether we like it or not. #RealTalk

      glad you mentioned him because his suicide was shocking. it isn’t only football that contributes to cte. hernandez’s dad was very abusive and who knows how many times he was knocked in the head, slammed against wall, floor or headfirst into things. those things during the developmental stage could have been bigger factors than football. i dont know why his physically abusive upbringing isn’t factored in to this?

      There is so much to learn about CTE effects. It is disturbing to find commentators with such a great forum speak against a player diagnosed with a severe form of CTE and still not remain objective while more research is founded. Too bad that we, collectively, lack the ability to be patient and guiding our audience to remain patient while conclusive studies can breakdown the behavioral effects of CTE. This, like many new discoveries, take decades to complied enough subjects to deduce accurate diagnosis on the living based on collected data.

    • @chukwuweikegwam2128
      @chukwuweikegwam2128 7 лет назад +4

      Jimmy Early that is exactly what he's saying. CTE= CHRONIC TRAUMATIC ENCEPALOPATHY .. which means chronic trauma causing brain disease. Its settled science that repeated trauma to the head leads to brain injury ( no one in the medical community is arguing that). The arugment is if playing sports at an early age increases the risk of that.

    • @cherp7522
      @cherp7522 7 лет назад

      Hmmm. We are not talking about the condition of most boxers. We are talking about CTE and the relationship to blows to the head. CTE would not discriminate against blows to the head from any sport. So, my point is boxers with all their sparring and they get far more blows to the head via a professional boxers "killer punches". So to me, if CTE were caused exclusively by blows to the head then boxers would be DEAD!!! All of them. I mean it is brutal! Even looking at women boxers it looks brutal!. So how do you justify someone like Hernandez with what science classifies as a 60 year old CTE case for someone who was out of football at 25ish. Just saying. Something doesnt quite add up. By comparison, I could see if a young boxer had CTE of a 60 year old. There is something that is becoming a "jump" to conclusion here that is absolutely wrong. People today aren't very well trained in cause and effect analysis. And this Hernandez finding is absolutely a red flag that something is amiss. Anyone who takes hits to the head should experience some sort of CTE if blows to the head is what causes CTE. Perhaps its bad thinking as well. I mean everyone knows that people who get stressed out experience damage to their physical body. So, why could not evil or stressful thinking cause CTE? I assure you they haven't checked for it. They would have no one to sue or ask for money to fund their research. Let me tell you something. In America, ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MONEY. If people are not already greedy, the minute they start making money they quickly become greedy. CTE and its research is very much going to become about the money. Sorry, but that is the way it is.

      @@7thswordsmenofthemist I get that, but thats his opinion based on what he thinks...not science. It's pretty much impossible to observe all the detrimental effects of CTE because everyone's brain is individual and you can't compare 2 of the same brain with and without CTE. Who knows if he would have murdered someone if he had never played football. I'm not excusing him as there are obviously murderers who don't have CTE. I'm just saying speaking like its fact, when you aren't even remotely an expert can be damaging. That being said I would never make a comment on it. CTE is not why Aaron Hernandez was out here trying to be some oversized gangsta. OJ's head trauma wasn't why he beat Nicole and almost certainly murdered her and Ronald Goldman. It's important to talk about this...it's vital actually. But correlation is NOT causation. Hernandez murdering Odin Lloyd was not because of CTE.

    I have gone through 3 separate brain injuries and can tell you that your ability to control your emotions or even your body is difficult and sometimes I might behave like a over tired toddler.
    I also know that being female I am lucky enough to more likely just to be more emotional like a roller coaster rather then males who are more likely to become much more aggressive. Having a concussion as a young person is also one of the indicators for murders.
    Having said all of that it is still the person’s choice to go through the suicidal, murderous or abusive actions that some sufferers do.
    Yes the head injury’s affects a person’s thinking and decision making but the underlying personality/ experiences of the person are amplified, pushing them into the horrendous actions more easily.
    It is not to blame but is a HUGE factor.
    We should all work to reduce concussions/ brain injuries in general but especially in sports.

To blame this on just Pro level hits seems a bit short sighted. Concussions are cumulative, that's a fact. Hernandez was twenty three when he played his last game yet had severe CTE while players with much longer pro careers had equal or less advanced cases.
