- Hello Art Friends! I'm Anoosha Syed, a professional children's book illustrator and today we are doing another sketchbook tour! I am at my parent's house these days and I uncovered all the sketchbooks I carried around while I was in art school years ago, and decided to share them all! I have nine sketchbooks here, spanning from 2011-2021, from ages 18-27.
Technically from 2011-2018 since after 2018 I pretty much stopped drawing in sketchbooks but there is a teeny peek from the sketchbook I started in 2021, so I still count that as ten years lol.
I hope you find the progression and growth interesting in this deep dive!

It's refreshing to see "real" sketchbooks where some of the work is awesome but there are pages that are not your best work or where you can see you've just scribbled random stuff on them. I see all these polished sketchbook tours and it makes me put too much pressure on myself when doodling in my sketchbook when it's supposed to be a place to experiment and learn
Thank you!!
Preparing my heart before I click play. Cause I know I'm gonna be jealous of the amount of work I didn't get to do compared to her hahahaha. I love Anoosha so much! Wish I could give her a hug because of all the generosity she gives us. Sigh! Would've love to have her as my fellow art friend if we went to the same school together
You are so kind!! :))
Lil bear and grumpy adult bear is ADORABLE!!!!
Thank you so much for this video! It was really inspiring. Your work is beautiful. I even paused the video at one picture so I could draw it myself! And while I was doing that, my 5-year-old daughter came and sat next to me and started copying my copy!
I've watched a lot of your videos this week. Your advise is very much appreciated.
It's nice to have a sketchbook because you get to see how your drawing improved, and you get to easily reminisce the memories with your friends and family. Love how your art style improved! 💕✨
It really is nice to take that trip down memory lane!!
I love the sketch with the fake scientific plants "the bluebell birdcage! and the Rapunzel! There are so many lovely illustrations in the sketchbooks :D
Thank you so much!!
Ohh my goodness, what a ridiculously delightful sketchbook tour!!?!..... I have binged on your videos, as l have just discovered you, i am compelled to create what you had to produce in Art school. Needless to say, I Love your Art journey & Me likey alot, and Subscribey!
It was super fun to see! Thanks for sharing!
Oh that's fun to see all these sketches! Fun to know you are also able to speak French! By the way "Bougon" means " Grumpy" in French but it is rarely used nowadays ;)
Ah thank you for sharing!! I remember now! My prof asked me to draw the grumpy bear (trying not to smile) and he wrote down this new word so I would remember it :)
My prof was also an old guy so that makes sense haha
@@AnooshaSyed haha this all makes sense now :p
I had the same skethbook/notebook addiction XD , but in the last few years I've been using them all, as dream journals, art journals, bullet journals etc..
That’s really cool!
I loved the sketchbook tours! I really liked your bird cage flower drawing. It sounds like a fun childrens book story
Thank you!!
Love to see your journey so vividly through drawings!! I agree gaining a following now on Instagram is so difficult, it took me forever to gain 100 and I wouldn’t consider myself a beginner artist, I’m a current 3rd year illustration major
Instagram keeps implementing new changes and algorithms that hurts artists and it’s so frustrating!! Really wish there was a better app alternative!
These are all so cute!! I love seeing artists evolve over the years😊 also you lived in Mississauga? I could've seen you around👀
Thank you! Yeah I was in mississauga for a few years!! Wooo sauga!
I love that your sketchbook is like mine, with a lot of unfinished work. I always feel guilty but, if a professional is doing it too I don’t feel so bad lol.
i love your shirt it makes you look very like glowing from within. very complimentary
thank you!!
Yayy...so excited

The struggle is real🙈
So excited

ayieeee^^ me too! it's gonna be interestinggggg
I think you should rework some of these, you have there some great ideas
Thank you!
Hey better than me- I just gave up on sketchbooks and draw exclusively on blank note cards now.
They're so cheap
And so small
I can take them ANYWHERE.
That’s smart!!!
💞♥️👍😍
May it be, that there are some pages which are exactly looking like pages out of the sketchbooks from Jess Karp?
Sorry I don't know who that is but I'll check out their work!
upload it already 😻
it's ready to watch now!!
where's 2013
Bougon means Grumpy in French ;)

Are you Lebanese? My mom and I are part Lebanese and she has your eyes but her eyes are hazel. Love your work btw
I’m Pakistani! :) and thank you!
