    Hey guys! Sorry, I know the music in this video is pretty loud; I made the video when I was first starting out and didn’t really understand video editing haha.
    All my videos after this have much better audio, I promise! I also have another video going over my picture book process if you’d like to check it out! :)
    NOTE: I only take on picture book projects directly from publishers, so unfortunately I cannot illustrate your book idea!

      Aw, I was actually enjoying the music. It was so relaxing, like we were chatting in a coffee shop but you were doing all the talking. ;) In fact, I was going to comment about the music being nice anyway and not that annoyingly perky yuke with bells and whistling that everyone else uses. (BTW, I love uke, just not perky yuke, haha).

    I know why "certain people" ask, "why do you share?" It's because they never share. They like to steal other people's ideas, talents, culture, land then claim them as their own. They're well known around the world this but they never want to share. Thank you for sharing this. You know you're talented and you believe in your own talents. You don't have to be afraid of everyone else's success.....BEAUTIFUL!!!

    • @AnooshaSyed
      @AnooshaSyed  3 года назад +95

      Thank you!! I’ve learned that other people’s success has nothing to do with your own; the other artists aren’t taking opportunities away from you, there’s plenty of opportunities to go around. Instead of competing with artists it’s more important to help each other. I believe that when I help others, the kindness will come back around to me. :)

      You are so right. People are quick to ask you to share, and once you do, they are like vultures. Being on RUclips as a content creator for the last 7 years I can say this is true. I have learned to share when I am ready and share what it is that I desire. I have also started classes and have written a book. Sometimes, you have to set boundaries and give without bias. It is hard, but there are so many ways to deal with this.

Every time I work on a book it's like doing it for the first time all the time. LOL!! People think as illustrators that this is always fun that it is super duper easy for us, but we are working with large publishers and others who have opinions and we have to be true to ourselves and the project that we are working on. I am almost 100 books in now and its been wild and wonderful. I am so very grateful for every single book that I had the joy of doing. The part where you mentioned text placement really resonated with me. I'm a translator, writer and graphic artist and I have translated 2 picture books into French. It was for an indie writer and they were fortunate to have me instead of another translator who isn't equipped to deal with images as well as translation. When authors know from the start they're going to want their book translated they should tell the original artist as well and if possible tell them which language they intend to have their book in. Besides the fact that some languages typically use more words to say the same thing compared to others, the way symbolism shifts when considering directions the characters are going, predominant colors in some scenes would need to be taken into account to avoid having too many things to change or edit each time you get started on a new language version of the book. Your art is beautiful!

    After a grand hiatus from art, I started doodling on my iPad this summer. My doodles turned more illustrative, and I decided to re-do a family history story in children’s picture book style with “historical notes” for adults at the end. I bought a new iPad and downloaded ProCreate. So, here I am going to school via You-Tube. Your videos are fantastic and nothing about this was boring. Try switching up the rooms you are in, and for me, the background music is at too high a volume and sounds like it’s on a continuous loop. Your content is spot-on and informative, the only thing remotely tedious are what I’ve just mentioned. Terrific work-you are so talented.

    This was such a helpful and informative video! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and process. Your art is absolutely stunning! The background music got a bit loud at times so you were a little hard to hear, but otherwise this was great! Looking forward to future videos. Congratulations on the marriage too!

    I am so glad I found you! your content is so inspiring! I have always wanted to illustrate books but I didn't know how to go about it. I recently started to use Procreate and I thought to myself, "I want to use this for the rest of my life" LOL Seeing that you use procreate to illustrate for books opened a new window in my life. It was like a math equation Procreate + book illustration = my dream job. Haha thank you for helping me discover this
