My 6 year old daughter ran up and asked me if I could help her write her first book. I work construction but in my free time we are going to write her/our first book. She said she wants to be an illustrator/author when she grows up. I didnt grow up with my biological parents and just want to be there for her dreams. I’ve learned so much from this video thank you for helping us!
Hey Jules, I'm 16 years old and I've always been passionate about anything related to books, especially children's books. I've always said I want to write children's books, but I've never taken it seriously. Recently, my 8-year-old cousin passed away due to cancer, and ever since then I've been thinking about children's books 24/7. I want to write a book inspired by her story, teaching children about grief and sickness in the simplest and politest way possible. Maybe, making it a series in the far future?! For now, though, I would love to get some opinions about what you think about the idea and how I should start off!
I think that's a great idea! Personally I'd start by researching all books you can find that have that theme, bullet point any similarities that they have eh.the language they use, how they're illustrated etc. Maybe the books never mention the name of the specific illness, maybe they have a faq section at the back to help the parents answer any questions their child may have after reading it. The best thing to do is to just have a go! It's been 3 months so maybe you've already started? If you have, how's it going? :)
You know how you have teachers that just are so dull. Then you have ones that really LOVE what they do. You're one THAT LOVES what they do. ❤❤❤ I'm ready to really take on my journey as a children's book author. Gonna go watch more of your stuff. 🙌🏻Thank you
Thank you! I enjoyed this. You asked for our ideas with what we have done or want to do. I always wanted to write a book but was not the best artist. So life took other directions. Now, at 66, I wanted to do something nice, and to remember me by, for my 3 grandnieces, so I wrote a story book and illustrated it, where they themselves were mermaids on an adventure. I made the mermaids to look like them and I incorporated their real life best friends into the story too. They loved it and I sent copies for their 2 friends to have too, so they could see they were mermaids as well! I made other characters have names of people I also knew, who were special to me, so they could be in the story too. And 2 of them were the great grandparents--2 dolphins "who were like family". So I know, even though they have both passed, they would love knowing they were in the story and "had a very special place in the girls' hearts". I found a local printer to print it amd made about 30 copies to give to the girls, family, and friends. Now I am working on another book for my friend's little brother and another friend's grandkids to be incorporatedin it together. And I also have another idea for a 3rd book too. I would never have guessed! But I found incorporating people I knew, helps me develop my story too. I am now researching all of these self publishing and Amazon type publishing/creating videos to learn more about the industry so I can utilize them the best. Thank you for this video. It was definitely helpful!
I've always loved to read and wanted to be an author. I'm now 56, unemployed, and recovering from an injury. I'll be one armed and unable to drive until fall. What better time to jot down what's in my head. I wrote my first children's book for my grandsons with no illustrations. My son said they loved it, they were engaged, and participated with actions and growls. My son enjoyed it and they want me to write more. This may be my new career. I am researching while I'm at home. When I'm back to work and have money coming in, I'll start investing in it and see if I can make it work for me. It's something I absolutely adore doing.
I got inspired to write a children's book because I love to draw and after having my first child it got me more interested in actually trying to write a children's book.
Hi Jules, I'm nine and writing a book called The Magical Talent of Emily, based on my best friend Emily. This video really helped. Totally subscribing!
writing my 3rd book, first2 being poetry, and wanted to crossover to kids books....mainly for my 3 girls...and this is exactly what i needed to get me started in the right direction
Love your helpful comments. Am a preschool educator. My toddler grandson inspired me to write. He lives in the city and I live on an island and want to write about him and show the contrast.
I’m writing a picture book about my cat, with the plot based off a inside joke about him in my family. I don’t plan to publish it, but this is helpful.
My 12 year old grandson is autistic, he is non verbal and has quite complex disabilities - some years ago, in order to help him, l started doing simple little picture projects …in 4 steps…ie tadpole turning to a frog, how bees make honey etc. this little project eventually turned into stories where Ben is the story teller…. I use Vistaprint and use their photo book to create my books ….it’s an expensive way to have your book printed ….but really satisfying! I wish you every success!
I love your energy! I always wanted to write children's books. I am a newly retired elementary school teacher. I just wrote two stories and am to learn what to do next! Thank you for putting out this video! I am looking forward to leaning from you.
This really, really helped me. I recently illustrated a book for a woman locally, but I wanted to write and illustrate my own. I recorded myself reading it aloud, and played it back which really helped make sure things rolled off the tongue. (It rhymes.) Anyway, thank you for this!
Hello Jules! You are an awesome , inspiring children's book writer and ENCOURAGER! The world needs more people like you! I am a 68 year old Artist, mother of three beautiful, creative children, and a Gramma to 4 adorable grands! I started writing my family story about 30 years ago about how I found my creativity by growing up in a large family, living on a simple country farm...rather poor in the 60's! Out of such humble beginnings, my creativity came from just playing outdoors in nature, on our little farm...imagining wonderful things can happen using your imagination! We didn't have much money, but oh did we have fun times, right there on our little farm! Your videos are so inspiring me to keep writing and creating even after this book I'm writing now is published. You have actually helped me in understanding the whole book Dummy making process! i love how you shared your ideas on making a Dummy out of a small sketch book! I will do that now, as I'm at the point where my editor is asking for a Dummy layout of my book! Thanks for being who you are! When God made you he had a special blessing in mind for all of us struggling new children's book writer's and illustrators! Be on the loookout for my book: "Little Hawaii" sometime next fall. That's when my editor tels me the book should be ready!
Hi Corinne, how wonderful! I certainly will look out for your book. Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words - very welcome on a cold, wet, rainy day on the south coast of the UK. I hope today brings you many blessings :)
My reason for wanting to write a children’s book is because I read the security logs from the gated community my parents live in and there was a specific one that had the most hilarious ending that I just started imagining it as a children’s story. Now I want to write it, and write other stories based on my upbringing in that neighborhood as well as other stupid funny security logs.
I’ve been a writer since I was kid (short stories, novels, etc), picked up drawing a few years back and decided to improve with an illustration project for family and friends. I did the whole thing backwards-drawing then writing. Everyone one loved it, but I’d like to do it properly this time with writing first and then illustrating it, so here I am. 🤷🏻♀️ Love your energy and great tips!
Hello Jules my name is Jake, I literally just turned 44 on August 4th & I've always wanted to write a Children's Picture Book. It will be about a puppy named King & his adventures throughout life. I'm brand new to this so I'm hoping to hear from you & learn more about this new endeavor I find myself in.
Hi Jules I am Zandra, I love books I have several stories I would like to finish this year, will do one at a time. So happy I found your RUclips videos! I am from Michigan and I am 66 years old and have 2 granddaughters and would like to finish the ones I started for them.
Just have that focus to finish. It’s easy to lose your thread and not finish a story. I’m sort of having that problem now so I should take my own advice 😂
Hi Jules I’m Leslie and I am currently working on writing a children’s book about body positivity because I’ve always struggled with loving my body and throughout my childhood and teen age years I struggled with an eating disorder but after recovery I learned that we shouldn’t be treating are bodies like that and I wanted to reach to the younger generation to let them know that their bodies are beautiful so I decided to send that message through a children’s book
just found your channel, I am looking to start writing my very first Ya novel but I put it on pause because I decided to start writing children's pictures book, I think its the easiest way to get some experience in writing and publishing, thank you for this video, your video is the easiest video around that I found on youtube dedicated to planning a children's picture book.
YOU are SO Awesome!!! I love your video it is very informative, for me that is. I wrote several books about 8 -9 years ago when my first grandbaby was born. He lived with me at the time and he and I shared and spent so much time together; he inspired me to write stories of the things we did together ; I call them Our Adventures. The way are family lives, share, care, love each other and others, etc. They are positive stories that I believe everyone desires in a family. I stopped writing because I had no money to hire an illustrator and had NO idea how to do it myself. I lost my job and then started taking care of family. Now I'm finding a little more time to write and research. After watching your video my creative juices are flowing again!!! My home is filled to the rooftop due to the new additions to the family. OOOOOOH the stories I can write now!!!!!!!!! Still trying to learn how to do the illustrations myself. MUCH THANKS to you for sharing your knowledge, enthusiasm and love of this subject.
@@JulesMarriner Hello Jules!!! I haven't had much time to spend on it lately. I am homeschooling three of my grandchildren since school closed due to the pandemic. My ten-year-old grandson had to take summer school math and I am just trying to keep the 5 and 8 year old up in subjects for the coming school year. It's very time-consuming but I love doing it because I don't want them to fall in the cracks. My four grandbabies are my everything I call them my Love JOYS.
I've always enjoyed writing. Even when I was in elementary school I wrote/illustrated a book and submitted it to a contest and did well. As I've gotten older I still write but do procrastinate. But am also terrified of having people read my work. I absolutely love children's books. At one point I was even a children's librarians assistant. This video definitely inspired me to quit procrastinating. I have so many ideas it can also be hard to know which one to start with. Thank you for making this video and I cant wait to watch more.
Thanks for your comment Kristen - you've given me a great idea for a future video; how to get over that terror of having other people read your work! I've definitely been there. As for which idea to start with - go with your gut feeling! :)
Thank you very much for the PDF, I will look into your class and have subscribed to your page. I am a former school librarian and have been inspired by children's books and how they ignite a love of reading.
I’ve been watching all of your videos and I love you your so beautiful in every way. You’re so inspiring I just hope one day I write a book that make my boys proud and I get to hug you and I’ll be happy. You are life changing.
My daughter is currently 15 months and looooves her books. Ive been daydreaming about making a book for her and this video is so helpful. Definitely will be coming back to it for later references haha ❤
Hi Jules! This is the first video of yours that I have seen. Earlier this morning as of posting, I have started my first children’s tugboat book, so my timing of finding this channel was perfect. I’ve already planned out the characters, the world, the stories and the number of pages per story throughout the book. I have all the pieces there and I am just starting to put the pieces together
Hi Jules, I really enjoyed your video. I've written several children's books over the past year and I'm now in the process of revising them. I will definitely use the information in your video as a guide. Thanks.
Hi Jules , i wrote the bulk of my story almost 30yrs ago for my kids , but only looked for it again a couple of weeks ago as i am looking for an oulet that i can get re enthused about . I genuinely found it better than i had remembered it ( LOL! ) so intend to see it to conclusion . I am involved in Fine art so i hope to illustrate it myself , and some of these ideas re lay -out etc are very helpful . Thank you .
Jack...I have a very similar situation with a childrens book I wrote for my kids about 30 years ago too! I am now in the process of actually getting it published! I'm self publishing it! I have an editor and a team that is working with me to bring it to life! I am so excited to see progress on something I put away years ago out of frustration because I didn't kow how to do it all! Once I gave it another go..I am off and running....illustrating and rewiting it and having a blast! Here's some encouragement to keep going, and hopefully we both will have our books published sometime this year! 2023!! Thankful for you, Jules Marriner, and so many others I have met here online who have generouslyshared their help and coached us in taking the next step..and the next and next to get our works published! The title of my book is Little Hawaii! What is your book title going to be? I will be watchig for it to come out! Let's stay connected. Corinne Kelly Avery
When I woke up today I remembered what I dreamed about and I told it to my mom and she said it would be an awesome idea for a children’s book so I’m working on it right now and my mom showed me this video and she said “here’s some ideas on how to write your book” and this is helping and working out well, thank you for the ideas
I needed to hear this, I have been getting too caught up in the details of my story and been struggling to finish. I will not take myself to the pub though LOL . Thank you for your motivation ❤
I feel so lonely, because I don't know others who write children's books. I thankyou for your confidence. I had a hard childhood and I want children to feel loved.
@@elizabethrobinson8615 yes Ive got a basic outline and some characters illustrated. Im trying to decide about her family. I also want little boys to feel great about being a boy. I feel they are forgotten, because the popular topic are girls can do all things. I believe a boy should feel great for being a boy and if a girl loves being a girl thats great too.
Hi Jules! I'm writing a children's book and plan to use KDP, so your videos are super super helpful! It's great to see someone do the writing and the illustrations so we get some insight into both ends
Thank you so much for this! I'm writing a non-fiction piece to teach K-5 children about the geography of the Continental United States. It's my first time doing something like this (I write primarily poetry and short stories for teen audience), especially in a competitive setting, so this helps so much :).
Hello Jules, Thanks so much for this, it is amazing what you bring to the world. I have been a behavioral therapist for over 15 years, specifically working with children with Autism/Aspergers, on the spectrum. I want to make a children's book to help other children understand what might be going on.
Hello - that sounds like a great idea. Autism has become much more known about in recent years - hurrah to that! Book ideas like yours are very important. Keep up the good work :)
Thank you for this! I want to write a children’s book series loosely based on my childhood growing up with Hydrocephalus. Parents have so many questions about it, and I want to answer the questions in a way that make sense to parents and kids.
The mere fact you re-worded the phrase "comment, like & subscribe" into a better catchy phrase AND explained why we should take that action had me hit the subscribe AND bell button. I hardly ever do that! You know what they say (or maybe they don't but I'm saying it now) great writing inspires action!
Thank you GemGem. I don’t really like saying it because people will subscribe etc if they like the content- but it’s good to remind folks why it’s important to us too. Good old RUclips algorithms 😵💫
Great inspirational ideas to start writing children's books though in a totally different settings from yours Jules. Thanks for the wonderful video with powerfully expressed messages.
Aww I really want to do it. It just came to mind suddenly, again...(it did come to mind 3 years ago but I brushed it off) and now I’m drafting the story. I’ve got soo many doubts like “can I really do this? Will this happen?” I’m wondering if I can illustrate it myself or if I’m dreaming. I’ve no experience whatsoever so this video really helped. Now I’m going to binge watch more
Thank you. I just published my first story on Amazon. I have a few more in the works and several ideas. I’m having trouble with the marketing part. Ugh. I love writing so much but marketing is tough. I’ve done a few things to market my book.
I am SO EXCITED I found this video and your channel! THANK YOU! I've always wanted to write Children's Book and finally am brave enough to do it. I loved reading as a kid and hope to give the same joy and wonders as my favorite authors gave me growing up. My book's characters are my pets and the everyday animals that cross my path. I'd like to make them into activity books and interactive ones. Looks like I'll be going to the bookstore this weekend for some research 😁
Hi Jules, I’ve just stumbled across your video and found it really helpful. I’m currently a primary school teacher but have always had an itch to create a children’s book. I LOVE reading picture books out loud to my classes - the funnier and more ridiculous the better in my experience.
I feel pretty lucky. I already have a children's book series written and formatted. I just need to figure out how to work a deal to get them illustrated. Then, do some final editing.
Hey Jules I just love you. I'm a Brit in the United States, writing A picture book about a pelican. Thank you for sharing ... Im listening and learning on your every word.. I would love you as a mentor ❤
Thanks for such a great intro video! I’ve started writing a book for my little boy all about his favourite toy, Ducky and their adventures. Really loved your enthusiasm and encouragement so big thank you! One very excited new subscriber right here!
This was really helpful! I’m trying to plan a children's book about my first dog and my current dog. My first dog was very outgoing and lived a very outgoing life well my current dog is a puppy that is afraid of everything. I want to write a story about my first dog helping my puppy over come her fears. It’s just starting that’s the hard part😂😂
I see so many videos about children's books and they always give the same boring tips everyone knows, but you are able to share so many details and perfectly lay out what is important like no one else. Thank you for being real with us and getting into the nitty gritty of the whole process. I love your channel! :)
Hi Jules, I really enjoyed your video and it's so encouraging to see the passion that you have for writing childrens books. I am very passionate about writing both adult novels and children's stories (I'm so far unpublished). I wrote a young children's story about the friendship of a boy and an alien and also recently another young children's story. I have submitted my texts to quite a few agents/publishers but so far no one has decided to take them on. I have felt the great frustration of having the stories stuck in just text format and wanted to bring them to life with illustrations. I'm not an illustrator but have spent a lot of time working on it (very often up working through the night till the birds start singing lol) and have now got a set of illustrations to make up a mock up book. I was thinking that maybe having a book to show to children/parents etc and get it out there it might open some doors. I was also thinking to do an audio recording of it and put the images to it and make a RUclips video book to get it out there. I would be very interested in your views/advice on my plans? Also, I appreciate you are very busy but maybe I could send some samples of the story or the whole thing for you to look at and give me some honest feedback. I am so excited about my stories and am so keen to get them out there for children and parents to enjoy. My children love them which means so much to me and I so want to get them out there and make them proud of their Dad. Sorry for my waffle lol. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for reading my message. Jason
Hi Jason, I think it's a good idea to try as many avenues as possible and not to just rely on publishers. It has taken me many years of self publishing to get picked up by a publisher, but I have learnt so much. I can do some consultancy/editing work for you if you want to email me, we can discuss. My email address is in my RUclips profile :)
I am so glad I found your video. I have always wanted to be a writer - ever since I was 10 really - but I never knew how to make that dream possible. I’m currently studying to be a Primary School Teacher and one of my units was on creative writing and I have found my spark. My new goal is to teach and publish children’s books that I can use in the classroom. I get so much inspiration from my daughter, so I have to thank her for and her quirkiness. She sees the world in such a different way. As soon as you said your first line in this video I knew I would love your video ☺️☺️
Hi Jules! I just came across your channel and it sounds like what I need! I have a story about my dog Cocoa and her rock collection that she started when she was young. I changed the spelling of her name a little, but I have it written already and have other ideas for more Coco stories as well as stories with other animals. I don't know what to do next with it though. I've never made a layout with it to include illustrations. I don't know how.
Hi, I have a huge interest in illustrating and writing my first Childrens book. Your layout idea first has helped me so much! I am already getting closer to my goal so thank you. I started illustrating digitally only but saw a Childrens book at the library with beautiful watercolor illustrations. I don’t remember what book it was but it did spark my interests and here I am 3 years later loving watercolor art. Thank you for the helpful video!😁👏🏻👍🏻
Loved all of the information that was given! I've always wanted to write and illustrate a children's book but never got the courage. Now I am expecting my first child and has pushed me to finally do it. This video has helped me in many ways.
Congratulations! I learned a lot after having my own children. Sitting and reading with them gives you a totally different perspective on children's books. Let me know how it goes :)
Thank you so much for your help Jules! I’m a Humboldt State Art student and I am trying to have my first book written and illustrated before I graduate!

Brilliant ideia! Remember that kids like happy endings. So the character has to turn into an angel or something else.
Best of look to you, that’s so sweet
I would read it! You should make it! It's great to teach children about dark topics
You know how you have teachers that just are so dull. Then you have ones that really LOVE what they do. You're one THAT LOVES what they do. ❤❤❤ I'm ready to really take on my journey as a children's book author. Gonna go watch more of your stuff. 🙌🏻Thank you
Aw thanks Aleesha! Glad my enthusiasm shows :)

I can’t tell you how helpful this video was. I’d been stuck for a bit and you helped me figure out an ending and designing the other main character.
Great to hear!
Hi! I am planning a children's book series I have in mind about witches :D working on the designs for Cora and other witches in her group!
Have you done it?
I’ve been analysing one children’s picture book every day since 1st Jan. Onto 40 now, and this has helped me plot and draft 3 of my storylines so far.
what a brilliant idea! Keep it going...
Hi Leslie - what a fantastic idea. I totally agree, there is wayyyy too much negativity about our bodies. Let me know how you get on.
just found your channel, I am looking to start writing my very first Ya novel but I put it on pause because I decided to start writing children's pictures book, I think its the easiest way to get some experience in writing and publishing, thank you for this video, your video is the easiest video around that I found on youtube dedicated to planning a children's picture book.
Thank you Sue- that’s a really lovely comment. I’m glad it was helpful 😀
I'm a South African student teacher and I was recently given an assignment to write a children's book this was soo helpful .❤
Glad it helped 😀
Can you share ur work?
Hi Kathleen - that's so brilliant! I'm really glad it has helped you a bit. How are you getting on with the illustrations?
@@JulesMarriner Hello Jules!!! I haven't had much time to spend on it lately. I am homeschooling three of my grandchildren since school closed due to the pandemic. My ten-year-old grandson had to take summer school math and I am just trying to keep the 5 and 8 year old up in subjects for the coming school year. It's very time-consuming but I love doing it because I don't want them to fall in the cracks. My four grandbabies are my everything I call them my Love JOYS.
Thank you. Great information and my cat got a good laugh at the line about the dog reading.
THANKS JULES. WONDERFUL INFO. I AM 82 AND I REWROTE A CHILDREN'S PICTURE BOOK I WROTE 45 YEARS AGO. I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR INFO. GOOD LUCK LOVE, SHARON
Wow how amazing! Have you changed it much?
Thank you for all these wonderful insights! So glad I found your channel, now I'm off to watch more of your videos! You are an inspiration.
Thank you very much for the PDF, I will look into your class and have subscribed to your page. I am a former school librarian and have been
inspired by children's books and how they ignite a love of reading.
Thanks 😊I appreciate you taking about how 2. looking forward to seeing more of your work 😀
I’ve been watching all of your videos and I love you your so beautiful in every way.
Thanks iam think iam going to give writing a book ago I've never written one before and now is the time thanks great help 👍
Thank you! I've published several coloring books but now I'm ready to move into kids books this is great advice to get started. ♥️
Hi can you send samples of your colouring books. I run a day care. eap.faf1@gmail.com
I would like to get into coloring books, plus I got an idea for a new kind of coloring book how can I get into that type of business.
Sounds like you’ve started well 😊
@@JulesMarriner I have; I took about 5 notebook pages and laid everything out
Hi Jules, I really enjoyed your video.
Thank you for this! I love your energy - thanks for teaching me
When I woke up today I remembered what I dreamed about and I told it to my mom and she said it would be an awesome idea for a children’s book so I’m working on it right now and my mom showed me this video and she said “here’s some ideas on how to write your book” and this is helping and working out well, thank you for the ideas
I needed to hear this, I have been getting too caught up in the details of my story and been struggling to finish. I will not take myself to the pub though LOL . Thank you for your motivation ❤
Have a great 😃 wonderful day with such great 💡 ideas!
Thanks Ma'am. I just wrote my daughters story book. She is a great storyteller.
Thank you :)
I feel so lonely, because I don't know others who write children's books. I thankyou for your confidence. I had a hard childhood and I want children to feel loved.
Beautiful!! Have you written anything yet?
@@elizabethrobinson8615 yes Ive got a basic outline and some characters illustrated. Im trying to decide about her family. I also want little boys to feel great about being a boy. I feel they are forgotten, because the popular topic are girls can do all things. I believe a boy should feel great for being a boy and if a girl loves being a girl thats great too.
@@wewin4624 Yes!! I agree.
Set up a twitter for your writing! There's a great writing community there that is very helpful. Find #writingcommunity and start talking to people!
Hi Jules! I'm writing a children's book and plan to use KDP, so your videos are super super helpful! It's great to see someone do the writing and the illustrations so we get some insight into both ends
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this! I'm writing a non-fiction piece to teach K-5 children about the geography of the Continental United States. It's my first time doing something like this (I write primarily poetry and short stories for teen audience), especially in a competitive setting, so this helps so much :).
Sounds great Nora! Glad to have helped :)
Hello! @@JulesMarriner Thanks so much! Your comment means a lot. Do you by chance illustrate for persons like me, in the future?
Thank you for this! I want to write a children’s book series loosely based on my childhood growing up with Hydrocephalus. Parents have so many questions about it, and I want to answer the questions in a way that make sense to parents and kids.
What a great idea! Hope you bring it to fruition. :)
Im a VERY dark and gory spanish writter, and man im so excited on trying to make a really cute childrens book just for the funsies of it!
Go for it! It’s good to push ourselves.
@@JulesMarriner thanks :D
Thank you for generously sharing your invaluable experience and knowledge with us.
You’re welcome ☺️
Thank you so much for the very useful information!
Loved, LOVED, loved this!
This was so helpful! Thanks a mil for sharing your insight!
Glad it was helpful!
Great inspirational ideas to start writing children's books though in a totally different settings from yours Jules. Thanks for the wonderful video with powerfully expressed messages.
I love books and geography.
Aww I really want to do it. It just came to mind suddenly, again...(it did come to mind 3 years ago but I brushed it off) and now I’m drafting the story. I’ve got soo many doubts like “can I really do this? Will this happen?”
I’m wondering if I can illustrate it myself or if I’m dreaming. I’ve no experience whatsoever so this video really helped. Now I’m going to binge watch more
Thank you! this is the best video i have found on this topic.
Thank you 😊
This was very helpful. Cheers!
Thank you Jules! Great informatio!
You’re welcome ☺️
Thank you. I just published my first story on Amazon. I have a few more in the works and several ideas. I’m having trouble with the marketing part. Ugh. I love writing so much but marketing is tough. I’ve done a few things to market my book.
Nanoo Nanooo.....lol!!!! Love it!!!!!! My ugly doubts are now covered in sparkly inspiration and courage. Thank you!
Hi Jules, I'm so glad to have found your channel. Love your energy and thanks for all the resources
You are so welcome!
Good luck Desiree!
Me2:') very inspirational topic. Good luck .
Crackingly fabulous . . . ok, I'm in -- sub'd and liked!
I just loved your energy and passion!
Hi Jules, I’ve just stumbled across your video and found it really helpful. I’m currently a primary school teacher but have always had an itch to create a children’s book. I LOVE reading picture books out loud to my classes - the funnier and more ridiculous the better in my experience.
YOU ARE AMAZING.!!! I was yawning my way through many videos until I landed here.
Glad it helped! Thanks for your kind words.
I feel pretty lucky. I already have a children's book series written and formatted. I just need to figure out how to work a deal to get them illustrated. Then, do some final editing.
You can do it!
Hey Jules

This was really helpful! I’m trying to plan a children's book about my first dog and my current dog. My first dog was very outgoing and lived a very outgoing life well my current dog is a puppy that is afraid of everything. I want to write a story about my first dog helping my puppy over come her fears. It’s just starting that’s the hard part😂😂
Love this idea .... It's perfect 😊💖 Best of luck! Now hop to it - Start that rough draft!
....Oh wait, I'm 7 months late on offering encouragement.
I see so many videos about children's books and they always give the same boring tips everyone knows, but you are able to share so many details and perfectly lay out what is important like no one else. Thank you for being real with us and getting into the nitty gritty of the whole process. I love your channel! :)
Thanks Amanda- what a lovely, kind comment. Have a great day x
i'm also an illustration student that's looking to get into writing my own stories. thank you very much for the video!!!
I’m going to write a children’s book for my daughter. She loves new shoes so this is the idea I’ll follow
hey im an artist and ive always loved writing books and want to do one for my niece thanks for the video
Great idea. 🤓
Aw thanks Jane! Glad it was helpful 😀
great video, can't wait to make a kids book for my Spanish class
Hello Jules, I have wanted to write this story that my Mom told me as a child, this video was awesome and extremely helpful on how to get started.
Glad it was helpful!
"Oh and they all went home" looool You are awesome. Cracked me up that line lol
That was really helpful and joyful 😍😍
Thank you for your insight! It is a daunting process, but having a guide is making it easier.
You are so welcome!
This was eye opening! Thank you for it! I'm just starting so it came in handing.
Thank you for watching 😊
Loved all of the information that was given! I've always wanted to write and illustrate a children's book but never got the courage. Now I am expecting my first child and has pushed me to finally do it. This video has helped me in many ways.
Congratulations! I learned a lot after having my own children. Sitting and reading with them gives you a totally different perspective on children's books. Let me know how it goes :)
This was so helpful thanks so much for such a nice clear explanation video :)
You are just amazing, such a lovely personality, I could listen to you all day long, thank you!
