You want to tell me about other quality racing titles and Imma let you finish, but Burnout 3 is still the best racing game of all time! Trust me, I checked. Edit: Many of you have told me that Burnout Paradise DOES have a Crash Mode. No, it doesn't. It has "Showtime" which you can activate at any time and it is NOT the same thing. There’s no puzzle element to it, you just bounce your car endlessly around the world to rack up damage. It’s mindless. If you'd like to see more of my content, here's the Critical Nobody playlist - bit.ly/2M3r65U
Blur Is one of the best underrated car games out there it's a mix between mario kart power ups and burnout arcady racing it's a good game I recommend that you play it
The songs that really hyped me up back in the day were This Fire by Franz Ferdinand (Burnout 3) and Red Flag by Billy Talent (Burnout Revenge). Those soundtracks were filled with bangers though, it's so hard to choose one per game lol.
You want to tell me about other quality racing titles and Imma let you finish, but Need for Speed 3 : Hot Pursuit is still the best racing game of all time! Trust me, I checked.
I feel like the main issue of the lack of arcade racers is that everyone wants to put famous cars into their games, but they can’t do anything like majorly damage the cars or it’ll upset the manufacturers
and to top it off, the publishers lack of understanding the market made them to move away to the other genres that can be easily monetized (shooters, anime rpgs, ect.)
@@adlibbed2138 and lets not forget company nowadays care about sales and revenue more than anything else which means any projects they came up with are risky. If it failed , then forget about future sequels of that series
The closest to Burnout's ability to appeal to anybody, regardless of interest in cars, is probably Wreckfest. A new Burnout title with that game's scale and budget would be amazing. As for favorite song? Definitely Andy Hunter's "Come On" in Revenge. One of my goals is to put that song in a movie or game that's even more appropriate, but I don't think it's possible.
When Critical Nobody said "I am the furthest thing from a car guy you can get," I immediately thought of Ray and...of course, you're here. You're _the_ car guy.
True, modern racing games sucks so bad 98% of it is just legal track racing bullcrap like Gran Turismo, Forza, or Assetto We need more of Burnout or Flatout.
Burnout 3 Takedown: "We are the lazy generation" will always bring me back to the game and good memories. I had a hard time skipping the opening cutscene because the song hooked me every time.
My pick for "track I never skip" is easily Breathing by Yellowcard. I don't know what it is about it, but it's the perfect blend of angsty and energetic and it activates all the moody teenager neurons in my brain. I love it so much.
Oh I remember Breathing by Yellowcard! One of my favourites, I remember that song was also in Flatout 2. It's nice when there are songs that appear in more than one game. I know there was a song that appeared in both Gran Turismo 4 and NFS Underground 1, one that appeared in both Juiced 1 and Midnight Club 3, also one in both Juiced 1 and NFS Carbon
i was gonna say that they need to remaster Burnout 3 but they really don't. They just need to sell it on modern consoles/PC. You were spitting hard facts in this video literally one of the best games ever made
If you wanna play it on pc you can always use pcsx2. It's very easy to setup and find the best settings online for every game. The only you need is an iso of the game which can be found easily on a torrent site. Oh and you can play the game on much higher resolution than PS2 or Xbox native, depending on your graphics card.
Precisely. I don't miss new games like the old ones I like. The only thing which prevents me of playing them are new console/pc ports. But this doesn't make too much money for studios so they do exactly the opposite. Remove drivers, burnouts and most wanteds from digital stores and try to push me crappy nfs and project cars
I still play it to this day, one of those games you can always go back and play again and it is always fun, Even have some PCSX2 gameplay aswell as my settings on my channel.
ayyyy, epic gta rp guy. we all in the same boat i guess. people that miss when AAA games meant something. were completed and bug tested before lunch, with no microtransactions or after greed to soil it. i have a very slow start in life, but i feel like it's gonna finally take me doing it myself to buy and save these old franchises we grew up with and miss so much. cuz all the corporations see these days is how happy their biggest stock holders are when they squeeze every last penny out of their shriveled and simple minded new fanbases.
what people miss more than burnout is what it stood for: excitingly simple fun, a time when games didn't need a dozen bells and whistles to entice players and could just entertain with a simple set of mechanics,
Burnout OSTs are still my favorite at the gym. They bring back nostalgia while keeping my blood hot! My favorite Memory by Sugarcult and C'mon by Go Betty go
And also my favorite for when my commute starts hitting heavy traffic (or I'm running late). My favorite's MxPx - Heard That Sound and Midtown - Give It Up
2:36 I actually had to stop for a minute and cry. Because yes, that's exactly the realization that's tortured me for the past 10 years. Games used to be fun, they used to be incredibly fun. Now they're so loaded down with disgusting player torture mechanics designed to only make money and check boxes to fit a category, the same soullessnes that has been torturing the music industry just as long. It's horribly depressing. What happened to us? To videogaming? To the passion and creativity we shared?
@@TheAntlionGuard That's a good point to bring up, if you're looking for games made with passion it's effectively indie or bust. The number of AAA exceptions has dwindled down to From Software, Namco Bandai, and Nintendo (through an ocean of exclusives), who only really feed a few niches each, leaving a lot of genres out in the cold. BUT, if you're exploring the indie scene you've had a cornucopia of games to pick from for the past few years, admittedly of wildly varying quality. The best of which often being subgenre crossing experiments like Obra Din and Craftopia, or love letter games like Dangerous Driving and M.A.V. that fill in for subgenres that've otherwise been left behind.
@@TheAntlionGuard I got a legit question. I really want to get into coding games (it's something I geniuely want to learn and do) but I honestly have no idea where to start. What software should I start from given that I'm a beginner with almost no knowledge in coding? Python or JavaScript to get the basics and hen move on to a game related software like Unity or Unreal Engine? Also yes I'm a college student.
Correction: Burnout Paradise DOES have a separate crash mode called "Showtime". On PS3 to activate it you had to press L1+L2 on the controller and your car would automatically flip and you would keep it flipping and tumbling into traffic by pressing X, using boost. Boost would recharge when you hit other cars and racked up streaks of ten hits. Unfortunately you can't turn your car into a bomb, but there are powerups hidden in the form of street signs and buses which multiplied your final score. If you managed to set a good score on every street on the map, you would be rewarded with a special car, just like you would by completing "Road Rules", which is basically free roam time attack down a certain street. It's good fun, but I still prefer the chaotic racing and Road Rage events :)
They did a terrible job of introducing that in game. I was 4 or 5 hours in before figuring it out by accident, and this dude made a whole segment of this video about it and completely missed it.
It till me literal years to discover showtime mode. I used to play burnout paradise for hours on ps3 pretty much every week between 2010 and 2013, and I dont think I discovered showtime mode till will into 2013. I think I activated it once or twice accidentally before that but had no idea what happened to trigger it.
it wasnt a dedicated gamemode like in B3 though. You just had to set the high score on every single road. they arent puzzles like the stages in B3. there are no bonus tokens, no multiplier tokens either. It was there but they completely missed the shot.
Along with Timesplitters, Burnout is one of the greatest game franchises from yesteryear that I love and dearly miss. I hope they both see remasters or sequels for modern systems.
There are a couple songs in Burnout 3 that push my "shit just got real" button, those being "This Fire" by Franz Ferdinand and "I'm Not Okay (I Promise) by MCR. There's something so heart wrenchingly satisfying about hitting the boost at the opening riff, as you zoom down that crowded highway at 200 mph, then immediately shunting my rivals into a rail at the first verse. It gives me a dopamine rush every time!
The PSP burnout revenge-style game (legends maybe?) has like 5 versions of Girlfriend on it. I used to laugh anytime I saw them in the menu when editing the playlist in the game.
I loved Paradise too, but I really missed the puzzle nature of crash mode from Takedown. It wasn't the same when you can just trigger it anywhere and the traffic is random.
Exactly what i have been thinking for several years. I have played some driving games in my life and always appreciated but Burnout 3:Takedown is one of the greatest driving games ever made and i have ever played. It is super easy to get into, fun and challenging to master. i am going to play Burnout Paradise and check it out, however i am sure it is a great game as well.
Finally, someone who understands that the parking Garage in Driver is the first Mission of the game and not the Tutorial as so many people wrongly claim it is. As for the Song question: It has to be "Red Flag" from Billy Talent featured in both Burnout Legends (PSP) and Revenge, not really a Billy Talent fan, but that Song somehow always gets me pumped.
This! The tutorial for Driver was found under "Training" in the main menu! I mean, technically it was the same level, but played a video first showing you what to do (including what buttons to press) and had a ghost car to follow when doing the event itself. People who thought the first level was hard clearly never played the final level, The Presedent's Run is like 95% RNG. Probably haven't played Stuntman either for that matter, now there was a unique driving game!
Burnout 3 is the only racing game that could ever make me cry... It is crazy how much this game makes me cry every time I play it. Who would have ever thought a racing game could be so emotional? So many different elements combine to make this game such an emotional experience for someone who actually experienced it back in the day when it was new. Every one of the kickass early 2000's rock songs on the soundtrack has the perfect combination of uplifting happy energy, emotional sadness, and nostalgia from a by-gone era that some of us still hold onto so tightly and never want to let to... Thinking about all the memories of playing this game with my dad and what life was generally like back in 2004/5/6, and how most young people will never know what it was like and how us old people will never be able to go back... Thinking about how great and unique the Burnout franchise is and it's practically dead since we haven't gotten a new game since Paradise... Thinking about how there are no other racing games like Burnout, no other franchise offers everything it does and does it so well... The developers did such an amazing job with every aspect these masterfully crafted games, including all of the experimental elements of Paradise... Thinking about how the devs at Criterion did such a great job creating and perfecting the BEST racing game franchise OF ALL TIME for us to enjoy... Thinking about how impressive the technology and quality of the game is despite the hardware limitations of running on the PS2 and Xbox... Thinking about how no other franchise will ever give us the same experience... Every time I boot up this game and get to the main menu it never fails to give me goosebumps because of all these different things... What a game...
I feel you mate. The game was a big influence on my Music preference. That sunny Pop-punk soundtrack, with some Melodic Hardcore and Alternative thrown in was masterful. It made you feel all happy yet melancholic at the same time. It's the perfect soundtrack to nostalgia. This is my favourite game of all time. I spent the most time playing it than any other video game. It's just that good. Crazy to think that this year it'll turn 20. I really hope EA Remasters it at least and release for the PS4/PS5. But it's a bit unlikely since they absolutely ignored NFS Underground's 20 year anniversary last year. Anyway, since Criterion is back developing NFS games, there's hope that maybe they'll push EA a bit. So there's still small chance. I can't play this game anymore cause my PS2 copy is just gone now. I can't find any other copies of the game. But I have about 10 years worth of memories playing this game.
@@cxssetteman182 Thankfully there is the PCSX2 emulator available for the PC, and the ROMs can all be found online, if you ever want to play them again.
I miss arcade racing in general. About everything nowadays is too grounded and realistic. They have an audience, but there seems to be very little room for all of us arcade racing fans who wants something fun and unrealistic. :C
Yeah, the same here! Or edgy indie games that all want to be the “dark souls” of racing games, or just want to be stuck in re-doing the old games and not much iterating on them. A thing I don’t understand is why some of actually really good indie arcade racers currently don’t have native support for racing wheels. It would make sense to recreate that old school arcade feeling.
As a sim racer that grew up on arcade racing games on the PS2... It's sad, man. There's an increasingly low amount and quality of racing you can have with a gamepad, as opposed to the wide berth of popular racing simulator titles. But when I don't feel like setting up my wheel, I want to just chill and drive with a controller, and it's sad that my best options for that are all 10-15 year old games at this point. Even Forza Horizon 5, which I loved on release, now feels samey and repetitive.
Burnout 3: Takedown will forever be tied with Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition as my all time favorite racers. No other games have even come close to giving me the enjoyment those two do, to this day.
@@mohammadsaad5343 The only racing game in recent memory that I really enjoyed was Horizon Chase Turbo. I still play it tbh. Perfect love letter to the old arcade racing games. That's why I loved Midnight Club so much, it was more arcade racer than sim.
We were so spoiled for spectacular racing games at the time weren't we? It's a shame we would only realise years later that we were living in the golden age. I mean, in this 2000-2010 decade we had: Test Drive Unlimited Burnout 3, Burnout Revenge, Burnout Dominator and Burnout Paradise Midnight Club 3 and Midnight Club LA Gran Turismo 3 and 4 Flatout 1 and 2 NFS Hot Pursuit, Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, ProStreet and the 2010 Hot Pursuit MotorStorm, MotorStorm Pacific Ridge and Arctic Edge Wipeout Fusion, Pure, Pulse and Wipeout HD, which in my opinion is the most graphically impressive game in the PS3 system Blur, which personally I've never played, but it seems to be universally regarded as a forgotten gem Split/Second Dirt 1, 2 and 3 And a particular favourite of mine that is for some reason really unknown: Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 3 There's probably even more that I don't remember right now. Nowadays we're lucky if there's a good racing game released in a year, and it's usually indie or small developers pushing boundaries. A few months ago I was in a bit of a slump, not really enough to be considered depressed per se, but I was disillusioned with life. And one of the main motives behind this was that there never seemed to be anything new that excited me, and being quite the avid gamer since a young age, I felt this a lot with the new games that were announced and released. Nothing hyped me up, nothing seemed to be better than what I remembered playing in my childhood. So I decided to install PCSX2 in my PC and play Midnight Club 3 and some others of these classics again. I went into this fully expecting to sink even deeper into my slump when I realised that I was looking back at my experiences through pink lenses of nostalgia and the games weren't as good as I remembered. I was wrong. The excitement and craving for playing more and more that I hadn't felt in years returned full force. I actually found myself anxious to return home from class everyday to continue trying to get 100% completion on Midnight Club 3 and NFS ProStreet. I realised that, yes I had become more cynical and jaded over the years, but that wasn't the reason why I didn't feel excited about anything new that came out. It was because these 20 year old games ACTUALLY DID WIPE THE FLOOR with the face of these games that are being released nowadays.
Burnout Paradise is my favorite racer ever!!! Such a great free roaming environment with so many unique events to take part in. The game will always hold a special place in my heart.
My first introduction to Burnout was finding a downloaded copy of Paradise on my cousin’s Xbox 360. They didn’t even remember getting it. That was like 10 years ago. Now, I play Burnout Paradise on my Xbox One all the time, and I’m constantly having fun. Weaving through traffic while flying at insane speeds, refusing to take my finger off the boost button, it gives me a feeling no other racing game has. And I love it. Yeah, screw you and your high-quality, slow-paced racing game. You think I came here for realism? I came here for pure adrenaline and a good time. And burnout Paradise delivers.
I remember playing Burnout 3: Takedown on PS2 and it is still my favorite racing game till date. I love the feeling crashing cars and the takedown animations. Also the crash mode was really fun and unique. We are the Lazy generation!!
I used to play the survival mode or whatever it was called daily for like a year, and could never get above 42 or so. I came back after five years and got over 60 the first time I played it. My brain must have been working out strategies in the downtime.
Nailed my feelings exactly. I'm the farthest thing from a car guy, buy Takedown is just a masterpiece in my opinion. It's never not satisfying when you takedown an enemy. And the crash mode (where you try to create the most expensive crashes) is just a bucket of fun.
Here I am - The Explosion : Is the song that I never skipped while playing Burnout 3 Takedown and I can easily identify with because "Whatever happened to the golden age, it's gone yeah". And that's exactly how I feel when I see what happened to Burnout Series and even Video Gaming Industry in general. I don't feel the same emotions when I play a video game made today and then, simply because I feel that the passion given into it is not the same. (I do not say that today video games are bad, in the contrary!) Since internet has come in the center of video games (with online multiplayer and updates), the developpers are more "free" in making video games in terms of budget and possibilities, which is cool but sometimes I feel that some of them are very lazy and settle on upcoming updates and dlcs to fix their lack of work. And the thing I regret more particularly is that I miss the "Arcade" era so much, the era when the video game was just an entertainment, a way to enjoy playing and beat your friend's high score. But today, I feel like people want to make video games as something as absolutely realistic, and want to get rid of that "entertaining" side of the video game like it was decades ago to make something that goes on top on trendings and benefit. I know that the arcade era hasn't disapeared, there are still good arcade games made today. But I just want to see a game (and a racing game for instance) that can bring back these amazing mechanics that mixes realism and arcade wisely without having to choose one side, and most importantly a game made with passion, a game which isn't restricted by budget or time (it's a bit hard to think that today but what if it was possible?).
If we can accept that we cut a bit on the graphic side, im pretty sure we could get a great burnout game. That kind of game dont need huge graphic, you go way too fast to see much of anything in them anyway.
yeah, I feel something same nowadays, not just Burnout, these feelings come up when recalling any of your/my favourite games... The important thing is people absolutely love things they were experiencing in their childhood, I won't go into the details though. For me such games like Burnout 3 are warm to the heart, because I actually played them 15 years ago during the relatively short period, when I borrowed xbox.o, and I believe same thing is about you, isn't it? However objectical thing you were talking about is still existing, and I totally agree with you. Despite "childhood syndrome" modern gaming is something a bit different, bursting in technical and marketing progression, but lacking those pure, sincere and wholesome traits of the past. And this "gap" feeds our nostalgia and melancholy, good and bad at the same time in some meanings... But you recalled a growing possibility for more people to do games freely. That is where indie games were born. And this thing is something modern, fresh, and gives hope and joy. If you want smth warmhearted, soulful, fun, interesting and unordinary - you should dive deep into indies, because though it can't revive the past, it provides with something satisfying and entertaining in similar way
Burnout Revenge is still my favorite burnout game, there's just this something about when you get taken down by another car and then the whole race there's this arrow on the car that took you out that says "rival" as the whole screen gets this orange/red hue and the satisfaction you get when you finally get the "revenge take down". OST is awesome, FOBs Dance, Dance, Yellowcard's lights and sounds, but the one song that always gets me up to another level whenever it comes on has got to be Lullaby by Thrice. Good times.
Burnout 3 and Flatout 2 were the best in the action racing genre. Nowadays we don't have anything comparable anymore especially with the tight visuals and superb soundtrack as these two games before. I do enjoy Wreckfest but it's a different kind of fun racer. I hope Bugbear decides to do a Wreckfest 2 so it can basically go from Flatout 1 to 2.
Racing games have been scarce in the modern era even if they are sim or arcade there just is not much competition indie developers need to step up with with racing games
@@SpeedAnarchy there's Dangerous Driving which is by the Burnout creator but it's so low on budget and overall production value it's not even comparable. It doesn't look right and It's just sad how bad of a copy it is despite it was released 15 years after Burnout 3. It's not even released on Steam despite the exclusivity run out on Epic years ago. Right now they're working on a sequel but I don't have a lot of hopes for it especially when it's targeting to be on Switch too. Right now I would only trust Bugbear to be capable of creating a next gen action car racing game. And to be honest I would love to see the destruction and madness they're able to create with current gen + pc.
@@SpeedAnarchy true, only notable racers releasing this year so far is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, NFS 2022, & CarX Street, even though I had a hunch first two games I've mentioned gonna spark a controversy upon launch and as far as indies concerned, Night Runners & Trailout (essentially FlatOut2's spiritual successor) are some of the ones I can recommend
Burnout 3 was the first and only racing game that I fell in love as a kid, it's just so fun and exciting to go crazy fast and tearing the other cars in the way, it's incredible how you do mostly the same stuff through the whole game and doesn't feel repetitive
Takedown was my introduction to the series, and it definitely made a strong first impression. Later on I tried most of the rest of the games through the years, and while I still enjoy B3 a lot, Revenge remains my favourite because of how chaotic it is. Dominator without any sort of crash mode felt weird, but I respect that the racing is still intense. The first two games are a lot less insane and obviously were small steps before Burnout found its way to stand out. Paradise is fun for a bit but I at least don't feel an incentive to replay it once I did everything. Showtime replacing the former crash mode format was awkward; still somewhat enjoyable in its own right, but for me, less than having all carnage happen in a specific spot, with explosions on top.
For me the ultimate songs to never EVER skip in Burnout games are: - Red Flag - Billy Talent - Helicopter - Bloc Party - Lights And Sounds - Yellowcard - Fight - Unwritten Law - Shot Down - Nine Black Alps - Better World - Infusion - Top Of The World - All-American Rejects - Just Tonight - Jimmy Eat World - Breathing - Yellowcard - Hand Of Blood - Bullet For My Valentine - The World - Starting Line - Lazy Generation - The F-Ups - Beast And The Harlot - Avenged Sevenfold - Band-Girls-Money - TSAR - The Big Jump - The Chemical Brothers - Here I Am - The Explosion - Stay In Shadow - Finger Eleven - Make A Sound - Autopilot Off - Riot Radio - The Dead 60s - An Honest Mistake - The Bravery - Dance, Dance - Fall Out Boy Heck, I even could have placed the whole soundtracks of Takedown and Revenge.
Burnout 3 absolutely was the peak of the series. I wanted to like Dangerous Driving, but the main issue (aside from the lack of city courses) was that it was too easy to crash yourself and your opponents. A gentle nudge will take out another racer, and just brushing up against a non-racer will instantly wipe you out.
I would love to agree, but I think Revenge topped 3 in just about everyway. It took literally everything 3 did correctly and fixed what it didn't do. 3 has the best music tho! ;) Then Dominator came out I think shortly after Revenger and chopped a lot of what those 2 games did up into so e kind of muscle car simulator while leaving out most of the fun stuff, including crash mode. I think this is where the series started bottoming out.
@@kupokinzyt exactly! Revenge is the best in the series, and arguably the best arcade racing game ever. The only thing they did wrong in Revenge was removing the "Single event" modes and restrict all the races and events to be played only on the world tour or whatever it's called lol
@@bosyogurtlight glad you agree! and yea haha, it was world tour mode. I hope people don't think my original comment means I hated 3, I actually have more fondness for it than Revenge as nostalgia wise, it was my first burnout! It just revenge had so, so so many more cars and tracks. Instead of 4 different "type A" cars, you got ones with actual names and designs and not just slight Stat modifications of each other.
That game is truly special. If I go play it right now I can easily spend a few hours on it accidently. Revenge imo downgraded the risk/reward system of 3 that made it so good by being able to push traffic away. It's funny at first but it gets old quickly, especially when you have challenges revolving around that. It's still the 2nd best game in series though. Also, the 360 version of Revenge is very ugly. For anyone interested, get the OG Xbox port instead. That insane bloom filter and lighting effects give me a headache.
My introduction was Revenge and I still consider it one of the greatest games I've ever played. Nothing stimulated my little 11 year old brain more than hearing "heard that sound" by MXPX pop up during a road rage mission; was a guaranteed gold medal everytime. I'm seriously considering buying a ps2 just so I can play it again.
@@robertlowe6367 I've tried that, but there are performance issues and glitches that come with emulating. Plus, I think it'd be more fun to just play it on the original hardware.
@@weepo2651 The one thing I hate about playstation is the lack of backwards compatibility, but I've always been a playstation kid. No shade to xbox it's just that most of the games I used to play were through playstation. So if I'm gonna go through a nostalgia trip, it might as well be on the same console.
I've played Burnout Paradise recently and it still blows my mind how addicting it is. When My Curse by Killswitch Engage plays I'm on a speed high and wrecking every car I see no remorse.
My introduction was Burnout 2, but I really sank my teeth into Burnout Paradise. Something about opening the game to Paradise City and starting that car and heating the engine start from cold is something I can’t forget
Burnout 3 and revenge are a big part of my childhood 😄 While paradise is fun and it’s cool that it got a remaster I do prefer the more linear arcade style of 3 and revenge 🙂
So weird, I just bought this for my PS2 literally yesterday. I played it to death as a kid and you explained exactly how I feel about this masterpiece. Now I have to go play
Havent watched yet BUT this reminded me that Burnout 3 was a BIG part of my childhood summers. Prolly my favorite "racing" game of all time, and it is CRIMINAL it isnt available on any modern platforms. Literally just "car go fast now" was enough to get me hooked on this game Edit: seems I wasn't alone lmao
@@IPlayKindred i'm not entirely sure why lmao. Maybe because it's got a lot more to it than other racers? I think the crash mode was where i was thinking of when i wrote it
Say what you want about Burnout Paradise, but its soundtrack is absolutely insane and truly a masterclass on how to hype someone to drive 300 mph while totaling other cars
Look I'm not saying that burnout Paradise doesn't have its place, because it does. I'm just saying I wish it was more like burnout 3. I still have logged many many many hours in that game and racked up some really nice wreckage scores. However I just miss burnout 3. I also want a proper sequel to need for speed underground 2 I want my underground 3 damnit!
Damn, do I miss this series. I can't go back to 'Paradise' for one HUGE reason that you stated: the open-worldness means you can take one wrong turn during a race, and never recover.
I never had any issues with the game other than that the open world being a tad bit too big. When it came to races I never lost as I would always be able to recover with a few shortcuts to help me get back on track it just felt more tense and fun that way idk why.
Man I miss Burnout so much! I remember getting a bit teary-eyed when during the announcement of Burnout Paradise Remaster for Nintendo Switch, not because I was excited for the re-release, but moreso because I knew that would be the last time I'd EVER see a "new" Burnout announcement ever again. P.S. you absolutely OWE it to yourself to play Burnout 2: Point of Impact. It is such an underrated gem and it is significantly better than the first title.
Sank so many hours into this game. You have taken core memories right out of my head and had a little revisit into my favorite racing game. subbed, and cheers. (Yellowcard, btw)
At 6:06, that was the exact location where the fondest memory of racing games took place: while I was knocked out over that rail by another player, i somehow managed to lenghten the flying time so much that I ended up flying on the other side of that mountain gap where the road continues, and I managed to take down another player on the other side! I still remember that incident so clearly to this date, loved that game so much
My entry and favorite is Burnout 2. But burnout paradise, back then with non competitive online play was damn amazing. Filling a lobby with friends, if everyone had a camera on their console, and flip them off when taken down, or just having like reaction cards to snap shot with, that was so much fun. Thanks for unlocking this memory.
Burnout paradise still holds so many sweet memories of my highschool years. I renember playing online with friends and visiting stunt locations just to fly around and T-bone each other.... even online multiplayer was more innocent back then. I miss it dearly.
Red Flag by Billy Talent from Burnout Revenge. As soon as those beginning drums start I become hyper focused. That song lead them to becoming one of my favorites bands of all time as well. Absolute bangers by them besides Red Flag. Also really enjoyed the PSP Burnout game whose name escapes me right now but I definitely recommend checking that one out too.
Burnout 3 and Revenge are honestly as close to perfect as racing games could ever get imo. while i don't entirely agree with your gripes on Revenge but they are certainly valid. As for favorite song, it's Come On by Andy Hunter from Burnout Revenge. I can't imagine going through a session of Burnout Revenge without playing this banger of a track.
That amazing licenced soundtrack is what preventing it being rereleased for modern systems. Theyre not gonna make the money back that they have to spend on extending the licenced for music.
Considering 3 Takedown is still being sold on the Xbox 360 store, Revenge was added to Xbox one/Series backwards compatibility and Paradise got a 'remaster' there's definitely a lot of active licences going if all 3 games are available. It's just sad to see 3 wasn't added to the current xbox backwards compatibility as research shows EA did not want Revenge to be added, and yet it was added a few years after that statement. Personally I bought 3 Takedown for xbox in 2020 to play on my Xbox 360, that's my 2nd copy because F playing a blurry PS2 version, and I immediately got my Xbox 360 disc of Revenge and played that on Xbox One when it was added to the program. EA could definitely make a return in my opinion. Too bad the backwards compatibility program on xbox has ended.
two of the best racing games of the 2010s are *Split/Second Velocity* and *Blur* extremely underrated (both games sequels were cancelled becasue they didn't sell very well and the studios *Blackrock studios* and *Bizarre creations* were closed) you should give them a look :)
Fups- Lazy Generation. literally made my childhood, that song gave me so much energy and amazing vibes for the risk and intensity of racing at those crazy speeds.
The song that I never skip, that is just absolute perfection in a high stakes, fast paced racing game, is The Mooney Suzuki's "Shake That Bush Again." It starts off so simple, and then becomes a typical rock song that I can smash into other cars happily while listening to. It gives me that extra edge on the track that I need to win.
Everything here is why I adore Revenge. Takes all of this and adds that extra little bot of polish. Much better at not resetting into an instant death, that's for sure.
I really miss the arcade racer genre of the 2000's, they were the awesome time we had. I have only Burnout Paradise and Dominator and dang, I really miss being excited for such extreme and awesome looking games like I was back then with Dominator and Paradise. The games are irreplaceable masterpieces, even the entries that were not so perfect. Dang, I wanna try Burnout 3. And to the song I would never skip? It would be "Us V. Them" by LCD Soundsystem, because the time has come, the time has come, the time has come today.
Burnout: Dominator had Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend as the track that stuck with me the most. Not a great song, but I just remember struggling with getting the Muscle Dominator car, and that song played as I performed a perfect lap in a shitty car, barely weaving traffic, drifting every opportunity I get.
Burnout takedown 3 will FOREVER be my most beloved racing title. It was the first game I ever binge played for YEARS. One thing I loved so much was the feeling of being connected to others in the community and cameos from other EA Games. A good example is thr SSX series, most notably SSX 3, it was ANOTHER beloved favorite and it coming before burnout takedown 3, the DJ in BT3 makes a cameo reference to the DJ and TV producers of SSX within the same game world. So Burnout and SSX exist in the same world together.
Burnout dominator/paradise's "rockstar" by NERD remix is the burnout song which hypes me up the most in the series. Every time it plays I hold the boost button no matter what and become ten times more aggressive 💪
True, back when I had my Ps2 I had both Burnout 2 and 3 and i'd say I played Burnout 2 more, i dont know why - but I definitely think Burnout 3 is the better game and solidified Burnout's core identity. Burnout 2 is a fantastic game though.
I literally forgot about Burnout until now. The games definitely need a return and seeing those sequences with the crash mode was like a wave of nostalgia. But my concern, just like many others I'm sure, would be that if the games did return then they would be riddled with MTX.
Thing is, a game like the old burnout games just wont sell well today. Every game now has to be this massive AAA experience where they have to check as many boxes as possible to even hold a chance of selling well. Burnout 3 level of success can not happen nowadays. Best shot of burnout coming back is if they followed the paradise formula and made it bigger and grander.
I remember playing this game when I was a kid. (Though I only played the demo from N4S) I had a ton fun. I wish I owned a copy. There were only 2 songs that played on loop. Opheas by Ash (the "Sunshine in the morning" song) and the song by Fall Out Boy (the "Can't do it by myself" song). It was still alot of fun.
My favorite Burnout is actually Paradise, I like how different it was from other titles when it came out, and it was the only Burnout I had as a kid. There is somewhat of a spiritual successor to crash mode called "showtime", but I find it the most underwhelming part of the game, as well as the most hidden. You activate it (at least on Playstation) by pushing down on both sticks at the same time. Try it out!
So, Burnout, Motorstorm, F-Zero, and Midnight Club. Burnout: If EA made another Burnout game it might eat into NFS sales. Motorstorm: Evolution Studios got shut down by Sony because their game DriveClub underperformed. F-Zero: Nintendo doesn't want to make two arcade racers because they might eat into each other's sales. Midnight Club: GTA happened. They're stupid reasons, but it's probably why these game franchises are dead.
Burnout paradise was peak gaming for me. What a soundtrack, too! IVE BEEN GOING THROUGH THE CHAAANGES! BEAUITFULLLLLL RUUUUUIIIIIIIN!!!! All while screaming down the road at hundreds of mph. The golden days!
Nah bro you gotta go “ILL NEVER TAKE IT BACK, ILL NEVER TAKE IT BACK, I DIDNT MEAN TO MAKE YOU CRYYYY, IM NOT SORRY NO IM NOT SORRY NO IM NOT SORRY NO IM NOT SORRAYYY”
How did I not know that this was backwards comparable till now!! Had my 360 disk version since it was released and always felt the melancholy as I lamented "why paradise? Why not Revenge? That's the good one" . All these years!
The song that got me into Emo (also Post-Hardcore) bands was "I'm Not Okay" I would wake up, hop in the game and blast that shit every day. Man I miss discovering new bands (besides Rock Band 4) just like old times 😢...
Takedown was my intro into the burnout series too, and from there I played revenge and then still to this day Paradise. This franchise has become one of my top video game series that I love and it will always hold a place in my heart. Takedown was one of the very first video games I played, one my dad introduced me to as a kid, all on the Gen 1 Black X-Box
It seems like a lot of racing game focus more on realism when it comes to the driving nowadays. I miss when we had games like this that felt like they came straight from an arcade cabinet.
Fun Fact, The Burnout series was inspired by Konami's Thrill Drive arcade cabinet series, and I'm sure you guys might figured out what does both series had 1 thing in common when it comes to their publishers treating these two games these days
I still have my old disc of Burnout 3. It was so fun to play as a kid, and I'm glad to know it hasn't been forgotten. I miss when games were made purely to be fun. Also, Lazy Generation is an iconic song for this soundtrack. First song I think of when I think of this game.
This one was the first Burnout game that introduced me to the series and whenever the song Time and Time Again by Chronic Future came on, it made me even more hype as I kept playing.
This game is my childhood! i loved playing it with my friends, the amount of fun we had was insane! the nostalgia i get from the music, the star sounds and the boost! Please also try out flatout 2, its deff slower paced more racing focussed, but still very arcadish with bumping, crashing and boosting also has alot of fun music!
I'm 17 and have my dad's old PS2 and I'm still playing it. So many great childhood memories from it and I'm still loving it. I'm just glad I got to catch this work of art so I too can say that I played Burnout 3. Seriously what a game!
I still have burnout 3 takedown for my OG Xbox. Got the Xbox in Christmas of 05 and burnout for my 7th bday in 06. Man... I miss the gaming of era back then. Wonder times
I’m 18, my dad worked on burnout 2 and 3 and that alone made it my childhood, I couldn’t stop playing it and I was naive enough to not realise the significance of my dad having helped program the game.
I also miss Burnout. That's why I've recently been playing the Hot Pursuit Remaster; it was the last proper Criterion developed arcade racer and it has quite a bit of Burnout elements included. It has takedowns, the cinematic slow mo crash cam. It's quite fun. It's still no Burnout but it's close enough for me right now.
i remember burnout 3. the one song i always had playing was lazy generation by the f ups. it always gets me in the mood to go absolutely ham on the track and wreck anyone and everyone in my way to get 1st place. even today its my go-to song when in a race with crash physics. and yes i freaking LOVED the burnout series. and i really hope that at some point a new game comes out soon, or at the least a remaster of one of the older ones
Burnout 3 Takedown was revolutionary to me as a kid. It was everything I ever wanted. Fast cars, awesome crashes, and great music. Such an iconic game, I would play it again in a heartbeat.
Yes yes and yes on the fun factor, recently I've been playing older titles like The punisher and Medal of honour Frontline, two very different games but both come from a time of purity in videogames
There are so so so many songs that make me instantly think of burnout but I choose a few from each game "c'mon c'mon" from burnout 3 "the hey man" and "tuned in to a different station" from revenge "archers" from paradise
Burnout Revenge was the burnout I fell in love with when it was prevalent. I too would like to see another Burnout, specifically the things that only made it great. Especially for a series that doesn't use actual vehicles as we know em, is pretty cool and adds to its unique charm. Also, Bloc Party - Helicopter reminds me of Revenge a lot. Idk why, but it hits the nostalgia for sure.
The whole series were something else...but Brnt Paradise is a jewel that never gets old...Nr1. The graphics they had back in '08...the sandbox, songs, everything was gold
When someone gives a 10/10 score to a game, it's usually an indication that it's something they consider the "new peak" of a genre. I can count on one hand the amount of games I'd actually give a 10/10, and Burnout 3: Takedown is one of them. I would probably give that game as the answer to "What is your favorite game of all time?" because it's a question that was... complicated to answer for a while, but then I booted up the game again through a PS2 emulator (Gee, those seem ever more useful these days huh) using my physical copy I had just lying around and realized: "In the time since this game came out, no racing game has topped this." There have been adventure games I have enjoyed more than Ocarina of Time, there have been more enjoyable shooters since F.E.A.R., genres and subgenres have been defined, redefined, and created since Burnout 3: Takedown, but that game _still_ stands out to me as "The best racing game I have played" and I'm _still_ to this day, hoping that Burnout 3: Takedown gets it's BallisticNG-type game that adds VR support and custom content/music support, so we just have a "Offbrand Burnout at it's peak with modern technology" like BallisticNG is "Offbrand Wipeout at it's peak with modern technology".
The music, the adrenaline, the unique turbo orange colour on blackboss cars, the gatecrash mode. Yeah, its the best racing game i had, and the fact its my "first racing game" I have ever completed, its simply a honor.
i remember skipping classes just to get burn out 3 on release day by going in to town to the game store and ended up going home after getting it and just skipping collage for the full day. I do miss burnout or car games kinda like it . look out flatout 2 . feel alot of issue with cars crashing now days is the rights behide putting cars in games . look at crew and ubisoft being told they are not allow to use real car names because crashing and the car companys freaking out about there cars taking damage . kinda why you do not see damage to cars in much car games anymore more. I feel thats why we dont get games like burnout anymore because of car companys being scared of seeing there cars crashing.
Burnout got me into punk/indie rock and even to this day since 2005, I occasionally listen to a compiled playlist of Takedown and Revenge OST songs on Spotify. The songs are just absolutely perfect. Whoever was in charge of picking the music did a helluva good job imo.
5:25 is why I loved burnout and played it over and over again. You didn't need the fastest car to win a race, you could stay 3rd or 4th and close before the finish you start taking down enemies to win with a very slow car.
I know I'm a little late to the party here, but Burnout Paradise does actually have a separate crash mode. It's kind of a secret though. You have to input a specific combination of buttons that I'm unable to recall (Maybe just pressing both bumpers on your controller at once, don't quote me on that though), and they don't tell you that anywhere in the entire game. But it basically makes your car tumble and bounce along the road and you have to try to bounce your way into traffic to gain more money. If you reach a certain score on EVERY SINGLE ROAD AND STREET IN THE GAME, you unlock one of the (5?) secret cars. I should also mention that this applies to the pre-remake version, I'm unsure about the post-remake version.
I remember burning through the hours playing this game at a friends house, taking it in turns to try get the highest crash damage. You are right, ive searched modern gaming to try bring that feeling back but im afraid it is gone forever, as far as new titles are concerned.
I too had memories of Burnout 3 being absolutely amazing, as well as having favorite songs with the game as well. There were lots of great songs, but my favorite one was "Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out".
My friends and I would play Burnout 3 for hours when they came over. I was the only one that had an Xbox and my parents were in the no violence in video games camp to an extent. Burnout 3 and Lego Star Wars took all of our time, right next to Simpsons Hit and Run and Barbie Horse Adventures. Then Burnout Paradise could easily be blamed for my decreased interest in completing school work in middle school.
2:36 is a beautiful moment. It's nolstalgia personified. And my favorite song would have to be the severely underrated "Nothing to Lose" by Operator from Burnout Paradise.
13:40 Burnout Paradise City does have a crash mode, I’m pretty sure it’s tapping both your bumpers but it’s not very fun, still love the game and platinumed it on ps3 and ps4/5
As much as I love takedown, I have to go with revenge as my favorite burnout. "Seven Nation Army" and "Red Flag" are the songs that get me pumped to wreck some shit!
The Flatout series has a ton physics objects that introduce a satisfying real-world mayhem so missing from the bland and artificial tracks of other games, the excellent car destruction mechanics also highlight the usual cars' unnatural indestructibility, adding the same old skool frantic fun gameplay and an awesome soundtrack makes this second place for me.
Flatout is not as sharp, fun, responsive or exciting as burnout 3 upwards. I feel flatout was the gimmick burnout showcasing physics tech instead of being fun.
Burnout 2 was my introduction to Burnout. I used to play it for absolute hours. And I can relate because I was never too much into cars either. But something about Burnout 2 was just different.
Midnight club 3 dub edition is another classic racing game that is 100 percent worth your time
Bit rate help
Yeah, Burnout and it's made up manufacturers is awesome for that. Gotta love the Techno
If they had a burnout type game with the customization of nfs that’d be soooo dope!!
@@Got_Boost THEY do its called
crash n burn ps2!
Crash Mode really was the main event for some fans, the satisfaction of the mayhem is something to the eyes! HAHAHAHA
When Critical Nobody said "I am the furthest thing from a car guy you can get," I immediately thought of Ray and...of course, you're here. You're _the_ car guy.
The sad reality is that there's no game or movie that's more appropriate for that song 😔
@@dinothegonzo And I'll happily be the car guy!
True, modern racing games sucks so bad 98% of it is just legal track racing bullcrap like Gran Turismo, Forza, or Assetto
We need more of Burnout or Flatout.
Burnout 3 Takedown: "We are the lazy generation" will always bring me back to the game and good memories. I had a hard time skipping the opening cutscene because the song hooked me every time.
Its true tho we are the lazy generation
That song totally stuck with me too it was the best on a fantastic soundtrack
Same with skate 3 … been on my Xbox damn near a decade and I’ll never uninstall and open it up still to just skate around
Dude absolute facts! It's been years and i can still hear it playing when i think of burnout.!
What a beautiful game it was indeed
They used it on the demo too.
Still listening to it today
That melody is downright incredible. It has been in the back of my mind ever since the first time I heard it.
"and I can feel you Breathing" as soon as you hit the boost
man mine has gotta be "Lazy Generation" by F-Ups.
i was gonna say that they need to remaster Burnout 3 but they really don't. They just need to sell it on modern consoles/PC. You were spitting hard facts in this video literally one of the best games ever made
Nothing but facts, I would love to play this game on my Pc or on my Xbox one s
I still play it to this day, one of those games you can always go back and play again and it is always fun, Even have some PCSX2 gameplay aswell as my settings on my channel.
ayyyy, epic gta rp guy. we all in the same boat i guess. people that miss when AAA games meant something. were completed and bug tested before lunch, with no microtransactions or after greed to soil it. i have a very slow start in life, but i feel like it's gonna finally take me doing it myself to buy and save these old franchises we grew up with and miss so much. cuz all the corporations see these days is how happy their biggest stock holders are when they squeeze every last penny out of their shriveled and simple minded new fanbases.
what people miss more than burnout is what it stood for: excitingly simple fun, a time when games didn't need a dozen bells and whistles to entice players and could just entertain with a simple set of mechanics,
But I like racing simulators and arcade racers
@@christiantaylor1495 ok?
Loved playing with my friends
Burnout OSTs are still my favorite at the gym. They bring back nostalgia while keeping my blood hot! My favorite Memory by Sugarcult and C'mon by Go Betty go
C'mon! _C'mon!_
Completely agree! Orpheus by Ash always gets my hype for the gym
I love memory so much it's still one of my favourite songs after like over 12 years
And also my favorite for when my commute starts hitting heavy traffic (or I'm running late). My favorite's MxPx - Heard That Sound and Midtown - Give It Up

I really miss Burnout too. Filling my belly with diet soda and smoking weed while playing Burnout Revenge for the PS2 would be awesome.
Lmao
Am I the only one who got the joke reference to Smiling Friends Season 2?
Quality meme
2:36 I actually had to stop for a minute and cry. Because yes, that's exactly the realization that's tortured me for the past 10 years. Games used to be fun, they used to be incredibly fun. Now they're so loaded down with disgusting player torture mechanics designed to only make money and check boxes to fit a category, the same soullessnes that has been torturing the music industry just as long. It's horribly depressing. What happened to us? To videogaming? To the passion and creativity we shared?
I guess people just became more greedy. It's very disappointing..
not wrong but a lil bit of an exaggeration
Honestly this is one of the reasons I got into game development. I just want games to be fun again
I was gonna say it does have a crash mode
They did a terrible job of introducing that in game. I was 4 or 5 hours in before figuring it out by accident, and this dude made a whole segment of this video about it and completely missed it.
Still it's not as good as in 3rd.. Like there was no boosts, no challenge, just plain crash into cars, make a boom, and that's it
It till me literal years to discover showtime mode.
1. I would add Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain to that.
2. I'm happy to see you are, in fact, not dead.
Loved timesplitters, especially 2
@@dpo2078 so many great memories with TS2

Timesplitters, such a great shooter
There are a couple songs in Burnout 3 that push my "shit just got real" button, those being "This Fire" by Franz Ferdinand and "I'm Not Okay (I Promise) by MCR. There's something so heart wrenchingly satisfying about hitting the boost at the opening riff, as you zoom down that crowded highway at 200 mph, then immediately shunting my rivals into a rail at the first verse. It gives me a dopamine rush every time!
I am hoping EA modded Burnout 3 so that we could listen Neo Sky Neo Map while playing Burnout 3 game.
Nothing can compare the stress you get when someone has been on your tail for half the race, realizing all it takes is one crash and it's over.
its gotta be 4/16 for me.
My favorite Burnout songs are:
-Takedown: Breathing by Yellowcard
- Revenge: The World by The Starting Line
- Paradise: Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne
The PSP burnout revenge-style game (legends maybe?) has like 5 versions of Girlfriend on it. I used to laugh anytime I saw them in the menu when editing the playlist in the game.
hey hey you you
@@MattMathisSoftwareGuy The PSP Burnout game you’re referring to is Burnout Dominator, not Burnout Legends

FINALLY, someone is saying what I've been touting for YEARS: Burnout 3: Takedown is THE greatest driving game ever made.
If you like arcade racers sure, but IMO an arcade racer cannot be the greatest driving game due to not being realistic. Just my opinion.
Have you tried Driver San Francisco? That game is awesome too
Nope, that's Burnout Paradise.
Many days spent on the school bus jamming to red flag while blowing up cars on my psp, so I totally agree.
Fun fact, that version of the song was actually a demo rather than the final release of the song found on II.
I always wanted to play Driver but never made it out of that garage 😔
Red flag was my shit bro revenge forever 😎💯🏎
3 was when they were acquired by EA
There is a new cruisin game that came out in 2021
Wreckfest tho
Nfs heat tho lacking was the best racing game in a long time imo
I mean, in this 2000-2010 decade we had:
Test Drive Unlimited
Burnout 3, Burnout Revenge, Burnout Dominator and Burnout Paradise
Midnight Club 3 and Midnight Club LA
Gran Turismo 3 and 4
Flatout 1 and 2
NFS Hot Pursuit, Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, ProStreet and the 2010 Hot Pursuit
MotorStorm, MotorStorm Pacific Ridge and Arctic Edge
Wipeout Fusion, Pure, Pulse and Wipeout HD, which in my opinion is the most graphically impressive game in the PS3 system
Blur, which personally I've never played, but it seems to be universally regarded as a forgotten gem
Split/Second
Dirt 1, 2 and 3
And a particular favourite of mine that is for some reason really unknown: Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 3
There's probably even more that I don't remember right now.
TODAY I leaned that the "Mid Night Club" is a real street racing team in Japan, I always did wonder why they called it that
Try Blur, Split Second, Wreckfest, Flatout, OnRush and Ridge Racer Unbounded. They are up there with Burnout and Midnight Club.
Burnout 3 is such a good memory of racing game, along side with Paradise City
Burnout Paradise is my favorite racer ever!!! Such a great free roaming environment with so many unique events to take part in. The game will always hold a special place in my heart.
Good times.
same here Brother
Yes!!!!!!
Same. Still try to get carbon cars
Same!!
Crash mode . Loved it more than Takedown . Going to play this tomorrow . Thanks .
@@tenajii also replayed CRASH mode 28 times already.
That kind of game dont need huge graphic, you go way too fast to see much of anything in them anyway.
this is still on my spotify after all these years
yeah, I feel something same nowadays, not just Burnout, these feelings come up when recalling any of your/my favourite games...
If you want smth warmhearted, soulful, fun, interesting and unordinary - you should dive deep into indies, because though it can't revive the past, it provides with something satisfying and entertaining in similar way
That song for me is "shake that bush again" by The Mooney Suzuki
Split/Second was also very good. It completes the trilogy of the best action racing games for me.
@@billrazor6591 Split second was bomb.
@@SpeedAnarchy true, only notable racers releasing this year so far is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, NFS 2022, & CarX Street, even though I had a hunch first two games I've mentioned gonna spark a controversy upon launch
and as far as indies concerned, Night Runners & Trailout (essentially FlatOut2's spiritual successor) are some of the ones I can recommend
Showtime replacing the former crash mode format was awkward; still somewhat enjoyable in its own right, but for me, less than having all carnage happen in a specific spot, with explosions on top.
favorite music?
@@DogeyboyThePieChow
There's a lot of songs across the games that I like a lot, so it's hard to pick just one.
I'll give Wake The Dead as an example.
The heart of Burnout Paradise was online gaming tbh. I usually hate online gaming but put 3000+ hours in Burnout Paradise. Just endless fun.
For me the ultimate songs to never EVER skip in Burnout games are:
- Red Flag - Billy Talent
- Helicopter - Bloc Party
- Lights And Sounds - Yellowcard
- Fight - Unwritten Law
- Shot Down - Nine Black Alps
- Better World - Infusion
- Top Of The World - All-American Rejects
- Just Tonight - Jimmy Eat World
- Breathing - Yellowcard
- Hand Of Blood - Bullet For My Valentine
- The World - Starting Line
- Lazy Generation - The F-Ups
- Beast And The Harlot - Avenged Sevenfold
- Band-Girls-Money - TSAR
- The Big Jump - The Chemical Brothers
- Here I Am - The Explosion
- Stay In Shadow - Finger Eleven
- Make A Sound - Autopilot Off
- Riot Radio - The Dead 60s
- An Honest Mistake - The Bravery
- Dance, Dance - Fall Out Boy
Heck, I even could have placed the whole soundtracks of Takedown and Revenge.
Wrong, all cars can do traffic checking in races
My introduction was Revenge and I still consider it one of the greatest games I've ever played. Nothing stimulated my little 11 year old brain more than hearing "heard that sound" by MXPX pop up during a road rage mission; was a guaranteed gold medal everytime. I'm seriously considering buying a ps2 just so I can play it again.
If you have a computer you can just emulate it for free.
Or I mean if you have it on Xbox it’s backwards compatible
@@robertlowe6367 I've tried that, but there are performance issues and glitches that come with emulating. Plus, I think it'd be more fun to just play it on the original hardware.

Burnout 3 and revenge are a big part of my childhood 😄 While paradise is fun and it’s cool that it got a remaster I do prefer the more linear arcade style of 3 and revenge 🙂

I have only Burnout Paradise and Dominator and dang, I really miss being excited for such extreme and awesome looking games like I was back then with Dominator and Paradise. The games are irreplaceable masterpieces, even the entries that were not so perfect. Dang, I wanna try Burnout 3.

Takedown is honestly my favorite game of all time. The stages, the soundtrack, the sound design, the graphics, the adreneline...
...Timeless
Burnout takedown 3 will FOREVER be my most beloved racing title. It was the first game I ever binge played for YEARS. One thing I loved so much was the feeling of being connected to others in the community and cameos from other EA Games. A good example is thr SSX series, most notably SSX 3, it was ANOTHER beloved favorite and it coming before burnout takedown 3, the DJ in BT3 makes a cameo reference to the DJ and TV producers of SSX within the same game world. So Burnout and SSX exist in the same world together.

True, back when I had my Ps2 I had both Burnout 2 and 3 and i'd say I played Burnout 2 more, i dont know why - but I definitely think Burnout 3 is the better game and solidified Burnout's core identity. Burnout 2 is a fantastic game though.
i still enjoy Burnout 2 from time to time
It was the game I grew up with, so I got some bias towards loving it far more than any of the others.
I played it on the emulator and I really love B2 alot.
It was still alot of fun.
love both of your song picks, Burnout3 had the best music picks of any game ive played by far
Try it out!
Burnout along with Motorstorm are two racing series that I really miss and don't understand why they're just gone now.
While not the same style of racer, as someone who is BLEEDING for a new F-Zero since GX in the GameCube days, I can totally feel your pain.
And Midnight Club
So, Burnout, Motorstorm, F-Zero, and Midnight Club.
Burnout: If EA made another Burnout game it might eat into NFS sales.
Motorstorm: Evolution Studios got shut down by Sony because their game DriveClub underperformed.
F-Zero: Nintendo doesn't want to make two arcade racers because they might eat into each other's sales.
Midnight Club: GTA happened.
They're stupid reasons, but it's probably why these game franchises are dead.

@@Cxnnstant please stand up right now and go give that man a hug from me and tell him thank you for making my childhood
Burnout 3 and Revenge are my favorite games in the series. In fact, I have both Burnout 3 and Revenge on my 360 and XOX.
I still have 3 and revenge on my ps2 along with dominator
Burnout 3 Takedown was revolutionary to me as a kid. It was everything I ever wanted. Fast cars, awesome crashes, and great music. Such an iconic game, I would play it again in a heartbeat.
Yes yes and yes on the fun factor, recently I've been playing older titles like The punisher and Medal of honour Frontline, two very different games but both come from a time of purity in videogames
There are so so so many songs that make me instantly think of burnout but I choose a few from each game
"c'mon c'mon" from burnout 3
"the hey man" and "tuned in to a different station" from revenge
"archers" from paradise
I would probably give that game as the answer to "What is your favorite game of all time?" because it's a question that was... complicated to answer for a while, but then I booted up the game again through a PS2 emulator (Gee, those seem ever more useful these days huh) using my physical copy I had just lying around and realized: "In the time since this game came out, no racing game has topped this."
There have been adventure games I have enjoyed more than Ocarina of Time, there have been more enjoyable shooters since F.E.A.R., genres and subgenres have been defined, redefined, and created since Burnout 3: Takedown, but that game _still_ stands out to me as "The best racing game I have played" and I'm _still_ to this day, hoping that Burnout 3: Takedown gets it's BallisticNG-type game that adds VR support and custom content/music support, so we just have a "Offbrand Burnout at it's peak with modern technology" like BallisticNG is "Offbrand Wipeout at it's peak with modern technology".
That also thanks to rubber banding though
Yeah I guess but it gets boring
As much as I love takedown, I have to go with revenge as my favorite burnout.
"Seven Nation Army" and "Red Flag" are the songs that get me pumped to wreck some shit!
The Flatout series has a ton physics objects that introduce a satisfying real-world mayhem so missing from the bland and artificial tracks of other games, the excellent car destruction mechanics also highlight the usual cars' unnatural indestructibility, adding the same old skool frantic fun gameplay and an awesome soundtrack makes this second place for me.
Just don't play Flatout 3...
i clicked this video thinking it was going to be about this game lol thanks for reminding me of the name. shit went dumb on my ps2
I played Flatout 2 last year and it scratched more than an itch! Shame it was so overshadowed by Burnout.
The Burnout 2 main menu music gets me hyped like nothing else on this planet. Such an awesome series!
@@SuperSucc69agree. Even Rina Tennoji played Burnout 2 countless hours too. Her favourite car in that game is OVAL RACER SPECIAL.
