Evening young James. That tug was so sweet 👍🏻 A little sad seeing Sloe Patrol being lifted out of the cut but necessary to have it fixed 🤔 Looking forward to seeing the diagnostics and fix 😃
Sue’s right. Lifting it out of the cut allowed us to take another look at all the exterior work that’s been done. That was a LOT of work and we were privy to every brush stroke. Looking forward to the inspection and the verdict while hoping the progno$i$ is relatively benign. You certainly know how to create suspense …. albeit inadvertently. I like the new style of your segment wrap ups.👍 Cheers Captain 👩✈️ 🇨🇦
It’s utterly amazing how great that boat looks swinging in the air compared to what she looked like last fall. Looks like a totally different boat! You did great work James! And while you’re around Ratt, please don’t use the expression “busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger!” 🤣😂🤣😂

Hi James, heres hoping that the job that needs doing isn't to serious and that it is an easy fix. Seemed strange seeing Sloe Patrol being lifted out of the water again, hope she isn't out of it for to long. Stay safe
That teeny tug is, let's face it, adorable. Sloe Patrol looked beautiful, loved and well cared for when she came out of the water. Fingers crossed everything works out well.
The sped up version of sloe patrol’s lift made it look like a kids toy set, the boat does looks so good though compared to when it was put back in the water after the floor weld. That little tug could stop on a dime 👌🏻 keeping everything crossed it’s an easy fix and not expensive 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Well a New Year and new adventure, I think you should put that pic on that wall behind between the hatch and window so that every time you start a vlog we can see it. I like that present 💝 that was nice of him 👌👍lots of love from Louisiana ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Is it really considered on the hard when there is a lake underneath it? :-) I loved the fast forward bit. And that baby tug is so stinking cute. Fingers crossed it all goes as smooth as the haul out. That gift is amazing! What a great idea!
At least you can still see water out of your windows. Not so much "hard standing" as squelchy. Have no fear about your Christmas prezzie, James. I have a cassette player in my car. :o) Let's hope it's an easy and cheap fix, but I'm thinking "new drive shaft from the gearbox." Fingers crossed. All the best, mate.
Blacking looks good. Maybe just redo the front quarter which takes all the branch hits and hitting locks and banks. Will be interesting to see how Rat does his work. Must obviously be hard with 1 arm and good to see that this hasnt stopped him.
That little tug was absolutely adorable and so adeptly handled. Clearly at this marina they know what they're doing. Fingers crossed for best results for you and Sloe P. - Leigh
James. Good luck with the repairs I hope it doesnt cost you to much. Did you buy Sloe Patrol with the forward bow well deck cabin already fitted? I have a 36ft boat and am thinking of doing the same. Wanted to get an idea of the cost to have it done
The speakers detatch with like 10ft cables for that stereo experience at your picnic. The build quality gives a glorious base range even when the volume is jacked up to ASBO achieving levels. Puts the streaming Bluetooth speaker in it's place.
@@IDKline Well I think I can imagine that. Sort of thing that practice makes perfect. It would need good coordination between the two on the boat and with the crane operator. Thanks for that.
Towing, Lifting and a Young James catch up video. Hold the crane chaps. I need a large Gin. Dont you just lurve a "working Marina" ? Top Work all involved :-)
Bow to the inevitable, James. Fit a bleeding rotor on the roof so Sloe Patrol can fly whenever she wants to. She clearly prefers to be in the air, rather than be in the cold wet stuff. Up and doon like a fiddlers elbow...
Hey Sloe Patrol loves to fly!!! Looking forward to the next step. Love the crane, her engine sounds sweet. Take care and breathe. Thanks James.
This crane is cool

Wow, that was a fast lift. Sloe Patrol was FLYING!

Great to see you can still stay in your comfortable digs James.
Stuff is going to happen. You are getting it taken care of and that's all that matters. Enjoy watching. Stay well and safe travels.
Good to see it all went well and hope that ‘Rat’ is able to get it fixed relatively easily. Take care James 👍
You wouldn't think a little tug could tow a big boat like your
When the boat was being lifted out, my heart was in my mouth.

it is since its a springer built in 71 and many over the years have slagged them off and said there rubbish and wont last
There’s a few people here that rate old springers. It’s looking ok still - thanks

I’ll get myself some flippers and do the blacking too
Well on the bright side. With all these interferences in you schedule. You are getting content most of the other Narrowboat bloggers would kill for.
That’s one way of looking at it I guess

Great Vlog James. Can't wait to see Rat. Take care.
Blacking still looks good!!! You going to try to get that one spot on the bottom? Hoping it’s something simple and a quick fix.
Yeah I might redo blacking all over too

Yeah will redo blacking as it’s soo much fun. Looks all good tbh
You can buy your own metallic depth gauge off Amazon to give your hull sides a thickness check whilst out of the water.
Not a bad call
James, paint a patch you forgot last time when you change base plate! :)
Yep - thanks for the reminder - will do
Howdy James and it looked like a good easy lift. Keith
Cheers Keith

Yeah I’m in good hands here - the tugboat was the best I’ve seen
If they positioned it right, you'll be able to finish blackening the hull where the stands were the last time? ;-)

Is this the same Ed as brought us breakfast in MK? That was so brill.
Cheers buddy. You are a star.
Hey Will. Yes that was me. I “make” those frames and then sell them. Something retro
Ed;
I have to put my hand up to still using my SHARP boom box. Twin cassette decks haven't been used in a while, it's the cd player I use.
@@Slow-Will these are just display items and not for playing. Kinda a little nostalgia thing

Hate to see the boat out of the water again. Here’s to getting back on the cut ASAP.
Good video Jamie’s
And out of interest, how do they get their straps under the hull?
@@IDKline Well I think I can imagine that. Sort of thing that practice makes perfect. It would need good coordination between the two on the boat and with the crane operator.
Thanks for that.
They lower the straps to the canal bottom, then sail in over the top. Then lift. Fettling may be required. ;o)
@@IDKline I didn't want to suggest the "bleedin' obvious", hence my use of the word _fettling._ ;o)
Ok, I think I get the idea.
What this also confirms is that young James has a really informed and decent audience.
Thanks both of you.
That was a scary to watch as she was hovering in mid air! 😳 🙈
Scarier filming it watching her sway

I’m sure I missed it but why are you taking it out of the water
Broken drive shaft. :o(
The front fell off.
Reckon ,spline woodruff key.
You can also get a mobile phone case in the shape of a cassette they're really cool 😎😎😎

Now there’s an idea
Is Rats real name Mike ? If it is he is a really good mechanic.
so Rat is going to fix it single handedly? :D
You actually went there !!
Although you don’t fancy it, another coat of blacking would be sensible whilst Sloe Patrol is out of the water temporarily. .......
Yeah I know - I’ll do it
Thanks
👍👌🇨🇦❤
